Two small pieces of advice from someone who had that kind of trauma: * To keep away the frustrating boredom when you cannot act, always have long form audio entertainment at easy reach. When listening you do not need to act. * Start a new sport. The small yet frequent improvements will help you heal your mind. Your body will show to your subconscious that reality is also about things getting better.

I lost my mom in 2012 due to suicide, while studying to be a psychologist. And it broke me because I didn't see it coming. I'm 40 now and gave up the dream but I'm okay with that. I just want to say it's okay to break down a little so you can process and give yourself time to use your tools to cope with grief. You may realize your dream changes. And sometimes having a community of like minded individuals to help can support that. So what you are doing by getting another interviewer is probably the best idea for you right now. Good luck Azeal.

I lost someone extremely dear to me a few years ago and being a youtuber myself, I noticed that I too tried to power through things and tried to get things to go faster, but they wouldn't and it frustrated me and I wanted to complete it and get it over with already. It wasn't till much later that I realized that I was actually doing those things incredibly fast already, even though my brain was trying to scold me at the time and push me to go harder. I was actually doing it, I just couldn't feel that way and understand that back then. Its actually counterintuitive how to get better, where you don't want to push yourself. You want to break away from the overwhelming and just allow yourself to not be distracted by anything and just sit with it. Then you bite off chunks of it to deal with it and you work on each one of those and you rebuild yourself and evaluate all of it. Its a good idea to get a therapist to help you with this, so you can have a secondary viewpoint to make sure your thoughts are controlled and steered positively, because its easy to tunnel vision yourself into bad thought patterns and to challenge corrupt thought patterns that you might not even realize you're mislabeling. At times, it can be horrorifically intense, but realize those are just moments. They might last a long time or feel infinite, but they're not. Your body adapts. Your psyche adapts. The pain goes away and parts of it may exist as memories, but they are just distant memories. That trauma feeling fades away. Then you're left with everything else that's great and it tempers you. In a way, you become impervious to it, because you can never really go back to those moments again and experience what you felt again and even if you could, you've already been there and you won already, so it can't scare you anymore. Just sit with it and allow yourself to feel emotions and go through it at your own pace and allow yourself to take the ride and forgive yourself and be proud of yourself. Talk to a therapist as you both guide yourself through this to release, confess, talk, whatever you need to do, and you'll be back to normal and stronger than ever with all your best memories intact. The community will await your return. We genuinely care about you, not the content.
@MochaSlushes
@MochaSlushes Ай бұрын
therapists cannot help you because this “negative thought pattern” and “sitting with the pain” bullcrap is incredibly unhelpful and does not work. “not pushing yourself at all times is counterintuitive!!” and? let him do what he wants, he is mentally fragile and weak right now. do NOT push him.
@DasHeino2010
@DasHeino2010 Ай бұрын
@@MochaSlushes it might didnt help you, but it helped me, so its not bullcrap! Also, at least for me, its not something you could push through. I tried for years. It did not matter how much i tried, how much I worked becaus my brains answer to that was "not enough! You lazy pos!" A therapist could maybe help discovering some things about yourselfe... if you want to... if you find the right one... I was lucky to match with the first one i guess but its like a plug thats been pulled and 3 years depression went down the drain. Gone. His decision of course.
@MochaSlushes
@MochaSlushes Ай бұрын
@@DasHeino2010 “matching” is just an excuse to hide the fact that they don’t know how to help you and the so called treatments are proven not to work.
@SlimeUwU
@SlimeUwU Ай бұрын
@@MochaSlushes Trauma is literally the exact thing therapists are taught to help people with. When you have a really big event, you can't just attempt to juggle it or it will leech effort and vitality from you and despite how much you struggle against it, you will just lose more ability over time, until it overwhelms you. You want to stop struggling and give it full attention in bits and pieces. When you remove all external distractions with no music no nothing maybe even closing your eyes, your brain is left with your thoughts and it can process things. Even without trauma, most people usually have this occur in the shower and have "shower thoughts" where their brain isn't stimulated, so it starts to creatively think things to think about or deals with things you've put on the backburner. Meditation also can help with this. So in a weird way, actually letting go of all of the other things for awhile, allows your brain to treat everything else with more importance and you can deal with it in pieces as much as you want too. Its not easy, but its what allows you to process and grieve and more importantly, find what you specifically need to get better. So yes, actually sometimes the way to go forward is to just let go and sit with it and build yourself a new path instead of just bruteforce pushing yourself up some specific path. It might appear to set you back temporarily, because youre not achieving or creating, but you actually are creating what you need to heal yourself and thats what actually restores you and makes you stronger than before.

Love what you do, and the time you put into it. When I heard about what happened I knew a time would come when you needed to back away for a bit and let someone else take over, be just the Weekly VRChat news or this channel. I knew something like this was coming, and either way I am happy you are taking time for yourself. You need it after all you have been through, Azeal. You have carved out a corner of the internet for yourself and built a wonderful and supportive community. Take what time you need to heal, and we will all welcome you back with open arms once you are ready to take the journey again. ♥ The Weekly VRChat news was a nice idea too, along side the stories, and I do hope it gets revisited sometime in the future. If not by you then perhaps others can take up the mantle. I do know there is a void of a one stop shop for all VRChat community events of all ranges, clubs, dances, games, meetups, etc, and I feel like the news could help fill that void a little. Don't push yourself though, Azeal. Your health matters just as much as everyone else's.

There's a year old saying that I have, and a friend of mine helped me come up with it. At least a big part of it. It's "Valar Gurenagon", meaning "All Men Must Learn" translated from High Valyrian from Game of Thrones. What I've always intended for the quote to mean is that nobody ever stops learning *anything*. Every human makes mistakes and learns as a result of... Well, anything. I don't know how well - if at all - this advice will help, but it's the thought that counts. Just remember that there's countless others who've been in shoes like yours. Feel free to ask me details regarding anything in this comment, but also about how I came to terms with this idea. Congratulations on sharing this with your subscribers, as you likely should be able to comfortably speak your mind when it comes to this kinda stuff. Valar Gurenagon, Gaming Derpies

Omg I'm so stoked to hear your friend/guest interviewer's background. I'll be checking out that video next. I'm also glad that you are taking time for yourself, and I'm glad the community enables that for you. Anyone can tell from your content that you're who feels things very deeply. And that means when big things happen, they hit you especially hard. I hope you are able to take however long you need, and you're able to work through things however is best for you. All in all I'm just glad that you're taking time to take care of yourself.

I remember when i first found your channel... it was the video of that swat guy who talked about the training and clique style selection process... i binged all of your videos THAT! DAY! and have always been pleasantly surprised when i saw a new video... wether its discussing transitioning, SA, PA, or PTSD, you have always maintained such a professional and calming demeanor... hands down the only reason most of these people felt comfortable enough to discuss what they were discussing.... on a side note, i have also lost a family member to suicide and it is extremely upsetting, confusing, infuriating, and it takes a while to begin "moving on"... not really moving on, but learning to continue forward with the extra emotional weight that adds... i dont have to tell you about support structures and hotlines, but always remember that there are a third of a MILLION people who are here for you.... and we will all be waiting for you if and when you step back in front of the "camera"... im not religious, but i'll be sending you good vibes and well wishes

The first day i got youtube premium, your entire library was the first thing i downloaded. Ive been watching this channel for 2 years. Your videos strike so many emotions that no other video could ever do.i really empathize with you losing your dad. i had to cut contact with mine because he was so controlling. And i felt miserable and i still do. I could only imagine what its like to lose such an impactful person. The vrc community loves you, we hope that you return happy. Take as much time as you need. take care❤

I found that making a list of things to do has been a big help in getting myself moving. The first item is "make a list" and the things you put on the list can be as simple as "wash one dish today". Regardless of how you get better, I hope you get better soon!

I’m so sorry for your loss. In my family, we’re dealing with a family member who lost his life the same way and we’re still reeling from it. I can’t imagine what you’re going through with it being an immediate family member. Take as much time as you need. Healing is a process, and there’s never a set time or date for it when you’re dealing with it for when to just feel like you’re ready. Know you are loved and treasured.

You’ve been one of my major influences to start content creation. Not just the silly goofy side but also the serious side and to spread news about current world events as much as possible. I’m so genuinely happy how much you’ve grown since I started watching you (the first bounty hunter video) I’m so sorry for your loss and I truly hope that you can feel better at some point, whether that’s tomorrow, or two years from now. Please try your best to keep going and heal!! We all love you so much and don’t want to see you struggle to do content creation while processing this. Get some sleep Broski, cya 🩵

Thank you so much for your work, I can’t say how much you and your channel has helped educate me about the world, finding your channel was like opening a door to another dimension through which I could learn to be more compassionate and understanding towards situations others went through. I am excited to see new faces on your channel and start hearing from different views again, and I don’t mind the least bit that there will be new hosts, in fact I feel this aligns perfectly with what your channel is. I wish you and those around you all the best, and I will continue supporting this channel. Much love from China❤❤❤❤❤
