Been watching your channel for the last year ahead of my move to Columbus a couple of weeks ago. The thing I really appreciated about your channel was the down to earth perspective that you gave in your videos. Made it feel like a normal every day person telling me about this great town. Looks like you have starting working with the same person that does the video for Blake. The visual quality has drastically improved over what your videos have been like in the past, which is great! Trust me, I understand the way KZbin works and how to reach people with CTR etc. However, I say this respectfully, this video was over sensationalizing the problems that are in Columbus, which is a stark contrast from how your videos have been in the past. The personal touch that you always have in your previous videos, was absent in this one. Again, I have been watching every one of your videos for quite some time so I just wanted to leave a cohesive comment of the impression this video left on me. Appreciate all you do and I'll see you in the next video!

Thank you for the honest feedback! We are trying some new things out on the channel. I think moving forward you will see the videos get better, footage be higher quality and the personal touch will always be there. In fact make sure you check out next weeks video!

Born and raised in CMH, also lived in Long Beach, and Tampa. No place is what it used to be. I'm happy to be out of CMH and the perpetual construction. I've watched a couple areas turn into demilitarized zones. For folks coming from places such as LA and NYC, yeah it's much tone down. That said, if Leadership doesn't alter course, CMH is heading the way of NYC and LA.. There's some actualy History still there, although much is quickly being gobbled up and gentrified. All that new development near Downtown displaced a lot of folks, it went from being affordable housing, to young executive condos. Now, prime countryside is being littered with warehouse parks and fulfillment centers.

We have to constantly have our head on a swivel.. just yesterday Hilliard Police Dept which is part of Columbus a suburb Franklin County a 60 year old woman was attacked in a women's bathroom in one of the big box stores Home Interiors something like that? She fought back, screamed and was helped and the man was arrested but this is common in our area women being attacked and robbed along with murders every single day. Gun fights across N High Street at 11th and High this week it is a very violent city with a high homeless population everywhere ( not saying the homeless our violent but part of our culture here). Drug Addicts are rampant. Do not rent or buy in the inner city. Anna In Ohio

You have no idea how easy you have it there. I’m from New England and used to live in Columbus and it was way better than anything New England has to offer. Try being limited and restricted on everything you do, down to simply getting a job. You should appreciate where you’re at.

Even the area around Intel is starting to see Panhandlers.. my sister works on N Hamilton Rd her adult kids same area and yeah surprised me to start seeing panhandlers out there. There are a ton of restaurants either being built or new builds as well as some stores. Stay out of Columbus though traffic and construction are a nightmare and crime is very high all over the Columbus area.. I live about 15 minutes from downtown and have watched my quiet little neighborhood become a high crime area over the past 30 years worse in the past 15 years for sure murders in Columbus every single day, cars broke in to daily and or stolen, tons of homeless here and drug addicts. If I were younger I would definitely move out of Columbus. Our poverty rate is also high 18% national average for the US is 22% I believe. I loved it when it was Cowtown, now they are starting to try to give it a new name Boomtown.. wishful thinking on the part of our politicians. And forget about it if you get in a car accident the police are not coming unless someone is actually hurt, they will tell you that when you call in. We do not have enough police. Anna In Ohio

Can’t fully agree with your video. Came from NYC, and I shocked to see the so much options for dining and shopping here in Columbus. You may can see traffic growth in the area, but it still an ease compare to NYC if someone coming from there. If you spent some time in NYC, then you understand how funny it sounds to hear when people call it a traffic, in NY the same amount of traffic it’s just called a slowdown😂

I have made several trips to both Cleveland and Columbus. Cleveland traffic swerves around curves, has lower speed limits. Columbus - God help you if you are not in the correct lane 5 miles before you get to the split. It seems much worse to us. I made a comment about it when checking in my hotel, and the person at the desk agreed with me.

We are not a small city. We are actually larger than San Francisco. Columbus is the perfect size for me. I've lived in larger metro cities. I don't wanna be Chicago or New York. You think the crime is bad here? Try Chicago or Philly. Our weather is not as bad as you portray. We are way milder than Chicago, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo. Be thankful. When it snows we barely get 1-3 inches and it melts away quick. Now, you also talk down the restaurants and bars in your video. I think we have PLENTY of choices here. You totally contradict one of your other videos where you talk about how great the restaurant scene is here and how we are a foodie town. And what about the craft beer scene?! To all viewers who are thinking of visiting or moving here- it's not nearly as bad as this video portrays. I'm proud of our city. Always have been. That's why I moved back. I have lived in Atlanta (twice), DC, Miami, and Dallas. I am back and here till I die. IMO, you can never run out of things to do here.

Get real. Columbus is not bigger than SF except in the most misconstrued technical terms. The 49 square miles that is SF has slightly less people than the 225 square miles that is Columbus. But in reality, the SF urban area is over 7 million. What’s the urban area of Columbus? 2.1 million?

I lived in san francisco and it didn't matter that they had good transportation, the prices of dumpy housing was not worth the ease of Bart. No place is safe. I live in Columbus, but I travel for several months to Mexico and living inhot weather is a deal breaker because those climates have giant cockroaches inside and outside. I cant enjoy being outside because you'll get dehydrated fast or even have a heat stroke. No city, state, country or place is safe. Anything can happen anywhere One issue I have with columbusbus is the classism, racism, anti immigrant,despite many living here. They Want to steer all minorities..immigrants, gays to ohiohealth hospitals only and keep them out of Mt. Carmel hospitals. People been steered or treated poorly when they go to renthousing, even ones who have over a 700 credit s ore, stable income. If you don't look like the type they want intheir area, they will be morestringent with application processes and approvals. But there is no utopia. Columbus rents are still cheaper than other major cities
@johndooley66129 күн бұрын
I think Columbus is better for minorities who were born and raised there. However, if you are a single adult, this place will be hell . It’s typical Ohio people overweight, low self-esteem, depressed, never been to a real city before and single mothers and the typical Midwest values type people that folks who lived in bigger cities or extensively been in bigger cities are just not going to have affinity towards. The single seed in Columbus is terrible. People do also hang out with those who they grew up with in the same suburb or high school, etc. It still has a lot of developments of a close knit big city despite being substantially bigger than it was 20 or 30 years ago. I think it’s a better place for those who are married and want a cheaper place to live but for single and adult who want to meet interesting people who are well traveled, etc. it is terrible. In terms of racism, I would probably say out of the Ohio cities, it’s not as bad, but it is what it is because the other large cities are worse .
