Time to Say Goodbye?

Since 2020 was the year that it was, I thought it would be interesting to capture what day to day life is like for me as we collectively try to return to some sense of normalcy in the year 2021. This vlog captures just an ordinary day of my life in a year that I hope brings back all the things I took for granted before. I hope you enjoy and I hope to see you tomorrow!

I know how you feel. I used to have the same breed of a dog, same age, same symptoms. I didn't put him down soon enough. His condition got worse in the middle of the night. He was shaking and whining in pain. It took time to find a vet willing to help. There is not a day I wouldn't feel guilty for letting my little dog suffer for so long. Let your dog die with dignity. I'm crying when writing this even 7 years after his death. Don't wait and help her leave her in peace.

I'm sure this is tough be it animals, kids, or aging parents. Ultimately we have to remove ourselves and think about quality of life. Take the time to pray and trust that God will give you a peace over whatever decision you decide to make. ❤🙏🏾

This is so hard. When my Mom was gravely ill, I absolutely hated to see how she was suffering. I had to ask God to help me move my desires to keep her here and suffering and let Him take over. That spiritually put me at peace. I had to make the decision to take her off life support. Her physical body was not strong enough for her Spirit. Now she’s living pain-free in Heaven and I’m good with that. She’s no longer suffering. I miss her everyday, but I just did not want her suffering. Prayers for you and this difficult decision. We know how you love your sweet Genesis.🙏🏾🙏🏾

My dog passed away this past January and it was the hardest thing. I hope and pray you can feel peace with what ever decision you end up making. Genesis knows how much you love her, dogs understand much more than we probably think they do.

We had 2 dogs pass over the rainbow bridge. One was put down, and the other was scheduled, but he passed the night before. It’s a hard pill swallow and I’m praying for peace for both you and Genesis. If you need to talk, I’m here. 🙏🏾❤️❤️

I have been there. My first pet that I inherited when I married my husband passed away. But I had been with her since she was a puppy. Because we started dating. She passed away. And we were devastated. My daughter and I found her when we woke up in the morning on our way to work and school. That was by far the hardest thing. Here in NYS they won’t come get your pet when they pass. You have to bring them in. None of us were in the emotional state to lift her and put her in a box. So a neighbor came in and put her in the box and put her in the car. We said our goodbyes. She is still with us in her urn on our buffet table. No one would know it’s an urn. It blends in as a decorative piece. We loved her so much. At first we decided to not get another dog. But I did because my husband wasn’t functioning well without his best friend. So now we have another puppy. But we still miss her like crazy. Whatever you decide is the right answer. My heart goes out to you.

So sorry to hear about Genesis. Sounds like she is having more bad days than good days. It's hard to let your best friend go and to make the decision to do so. It's a blessing to be able to put a loved pet out of it's pain and misery. It can be an act of love. Whatever you decide will be in her best interest and out of love. Two years ago I had to put my girl furbaby down and then this February had to put my boy furbaby down. I was devastated but I knew that I could not have my place without a furbaby. Oh, and I also lost my cockatiel the day before my birthday. Needless to say, that this pandemic has been really emotional for me. Teaching and my personal life have been so much for me. Two weeks ago I went and got myself a puppy. He doesn't take the place of my doggie but it has made my heart happy. I understand your feelings and why you are so confused about doing it. I just said goodbye to my dog 2 weeks ago today. She was 18.5 but it doesn’t make it any easier! It was the worst day of my life and a terrible, heart-wrenching decision to make but I take some comfort in the fact that she went peacefully. At first I was afraid to be with her but I’m SO glad I was as not being there would have been something I would have regretted for the rest of my life, no question. She was looking for me to be there with her and so I needed to be. I miss her so much and so does my cat, even though they never acted as though they were BFFs. But I might need to get him another companion sooner than later.

I'm sorry to hear about babygirl..I have lost two dogs one was sick and one was old...they both past on their own...it was really tough to see them so I understand about not wanting to come home to her..I don't know anything about putting a dog to sleep..but what I can say is enjoy every minute you can until you make a decision..take pictures, put her in her pink stroller and go for them walks..give her her special treats and just take time for her..I wish I could go back and look at pictures..praying for you and her

He was holding on for us, but he was suffering from a growth on his stomach that we never would have noticed. Some of the symptoms you mention he was exhibiting and he let us know it was time. I feel your pain. I too have had to let go of my fur babies. One thing you may want to consider---is that you can have a vet come to your home instead of going to the vet's office. Going to the vet's office sometimes adds to the trauma. Also, your baby's last moments will be in her own surroundings--all the smells she is used to. I am so sorry you are going through this. Sorry, understand what you are going through. I had to put my dog down in January. She was a chihuahua, had her 16 years and the symptoms mirror what you are seeing with some additional symptoms. She was in the final stage of kidney failure. Praying for you.

Wow, this video came on my feed out of the blue but then again maybe not...my dog hasn't been herself she's 12 yrs old and she has had a blood panel done and they can't find anything wrong with her except her protein levels are low, everything else is normal. The issue is she will not eat and she sleep all day and doesn't have any energy, she has lost so much weight, it's breaks my heart to see her like this. I got such a lump in my throat when you said when you look in your pets face it's not the same...I feel the same way she looks so sad and tired and doesn't follow me any longer. I have been having a hard time of making the same decision as you, cause they don't see anything wrong with her to cause the issues she's going through, but I don't want her to suffer at all, but at the same time I feel guilty. My thoughts and prayers are with you when you make your decision knowing you will do what's best for your pet and not for what the heart feels. Why can't our pets live long lives like humans ❤️❤️🙏🏾
