Russell Crowe is not always the nicest guy. The trouble that he was referring to while he was in NYC was probably connected to the time he assaulted a hotel worker for no apparent reason. I think he threw a telephone at him and injured him, and had to go to court over it.

Even though many of the watches are not the most sought out ones or the most eye popping I really enjoyed Russell talk about his stories behind them. Since a big part of the celebrity scene just gets watches left and right without knowing anything about the watch itself or has any REAL specific meaning to them besides that it makes them ''looking sharp''.

As a Watch Collector myself I think that it must have hurt him to sell his Watch Collection. In his The Art of Divorce or The Art of War, each watch represented a period of "time" in his life that cannot be replaced. Russell's ex wife obviously had no feelings about what each watch meant to Russell or did she out of spite? I also thought it was sad Russell had a collection of items from all his movies he had to put up for auction in his "Art of Divorce" as well. PRE NUP NEXT TIME RUSSELL!

He states in a different interview about the auction that it may be called, "The Art of Divorce," but that doesn't mean he has to sell this stuff to pay for the divorce. He has plenty of money to settle the divorce. He goes on to say that there was a time in his life when he felt like he needed all of this stuff, so he collected. Now, he's embraced more of a minimalist attitude, so it's just time to say goodbye to a lot of stuff. FYI, this auction contained a whole lot of different stuff, not just watches.

His ex gets $20 million and a mansion valued at $11 million. I hope this auction isn't an attempt to liquidate his possessions because he needs the money.

Of course it is! Why would anyone sell these pieces that cronicle their life. Only a desperate man would sell them

I hope you're not right. I like Russell and his movies.

It's unfortunate, but from his language it seems that he is no longer too fond of a few of them and the others he likes but he's willing to part with. Let's assume he kept all his favourites for himself, eh?

Seems he and I have similar tastes in watches. Love his remarks about buying watches to mark moments, like we all do. His moments seem more interesting than others, but so what? Nice collection. And the haters can piss off. This guy buys what he wants, and I like the concept of the Icelandic watch...hey, I was in Iceland filming, I saw a watch from a local maker and I bought it to remember the shoot. Nice!
