I didn't realize that these engines are 9 feet tall. Crazy.
@banokles
@banokles 5 жыл бұрын
Nathan James see the bigger round holes either side of the "sump"? They're for the front axles. It's got a transmission built into the engine, for the front wheels, and then another goes on the back to the differential, for the rear. That's one of the reasons it's so tall. (Added to that, the massive cam boxes, and the massive cradle for the crank)
@4ndyr0g3r50n
@4ndyr0g3r50n 5 жыл бұрын
The front diff is on the right side of the engine, meaning a driveshaft needs to pass through a specially designed channel in the sump, under the engine, to the left front wheel. What they should have done is moved the front diff much further forward so drive to the front wheels goes in front of the engine, not under.

Question. To what increment are you guys capable of balancing the rotating assembly? I’m a builder/fabricator and I’m genuinely curious. The best I can find within a 200 mile radius of my location is down to the gram, a company out of California balances down to within ¹/₁₀ of a gram.

@SL9SH
@SL9SH 6 жыл бұрын
N4CR5 you have a point, but you are not spending all that much at WOT when driving in the city right ? So I don't see why a car that has this output of driven 99% of the time in a civilised manner on the city can't last for 100K miles, not it's purpose and not why you paid but still don't see why, and if you are wealthy enough to afford one of these cars/builds you definitely have 3-4 other cars you can daily and use your weapon on events or weekends to have fun, no need to waste engine life pootling around

dnbmania the entire assembly is rated for up to 1200. The owner may 'only' be installing a 800hp setup. This engine is not finished or ready. Dont forget there are no turbos installed yet.

@StrictlyPerformanceMotorsports
@StrictlyPerformanceMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, we do build some domestic V8s. We build a lot of LS engines, and have built a few Hemis... Not so much on the domestic V6s, but we do have a full, in-house machine shop at our new facility we moved into since this video came out, so we can handle most machine work. If you have more questions, or are interested- feel free to give us a call at 269-350-9055, or send us an email at Sales@StrictlyPerformance.Parts. Thanks for watching!

What are u guys dialing up on the crank?
@strictlyimportmotors
@strictlyimportmotors 6 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the gauge that we are using? If so we are not actually using it on the crank. All crank measurements are done outside of the block. We however are using that gauge to measure the amount of stretch we are achieving on the rod bolts after we torque them to recommend specs. We often see that depending on room temperature and a few other things that sometimes a manufacture torque spec does not achieve proper torque and we have to make adjustments to the spec in order to achieve the proper rod bolt stretch recommended by ARP to achieve the proper tightness and clamp load.

If that was my engine I would go crazy with that dirty bottom end/oil pan. Polish that shit, it's a 75,000$ dollar engine
@StrictlyPerformanceMotorsports
@StrictlyPerformanceMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
That piece was not new as its just the lower pan and it in great condition. It was cleaned its just stained. that part of the engine is not visible and we see no time to spend countless hours on polishing it to new only to be covered up. And pricing on these engines are no where near 75k. these short blocks start out at $4999.99 we are not like the other big shops that charge huge GTR tax just because.
@twinturbocars

kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnusXn99qLJ5hdE Here it is on our Mustang Dyno (we find normally reads 12-15% less than Dynojet) which we found recently to be out of calibration (reading even lower numbers than that) while we had this car in the shop. It still managed to put down 1081whp, which calculates out to about 1243whp on a Dynojet (industry standard). It has was shipped to Texas immediately after we filmed this shoot.

@strictlyimportmotors 6 жыл бұрын
Confused on what your trying to say? What part of the build? A torque wrench is used in multiple steps of this build. We also use a stretch method on any and all ARPs that we can. The stretch method is a superior way of making sure the fastener is properly tightened.
