He was seriously injured that required surgery on his face. But Vince should made another effort to put the belt on him. In fact, Jake the snake was suppose to win the belt also. Unfortunately, he was frequently in rehab. Honky Tonk man was never suppose to hold the belt that long. It just turned out that way because Jake couldn't stay sober and beefcake's horrific beach accident. I still believe Vince should've called beefcake in as a surprise guess to cut his hair in the "battle of the billionaires" between Bobby Lashley and Umaga.

I’ve heard Cornette say “if he was a walking through a men’s locker room then he’ll be whistling Stranger In Paradise” (a Tony Bennett song) and have never got the reference. So I’ve looked through Apple Music seen it’s a Tony Bennett song so no wonder I never knew as I was born in 1981 and have heard of Tony Bennett he would be someone who my grandparents would’ve listened to, not even my parents (who are 74 & 71) listened to Tony Bennett as he’s before their time too! Anyway I’ve listened to the song (Apple Music puts up the words on my iPhone 15) and I can start to understand the reference more now knowing the words, whereas before I was like “I’ve heard Cornette say it so many times but I don’t know what he means”. But now I know and you have to listen to the song to get it.

Both men have been known to lie... for different reasons... Brutus is deadset on putting himself and Hogan over at any cost - deflecting criticism and making up grandiose and unbelievable tall tales (minus Hogan's natural charisma and gift of gab). Cornette is deadset on protecting anyone who made him money/likes personally/is a direct blood relative of the latter two and degrading anyone he ever had an argument with/feels makes a foil for his online character. Yet, if Corny is neutral on the people involved, he can be a reliable historian with an excessively long memory and vast knowledge of wrestling's past (with the obligatory embellishments here and there for the sake of making a better story) . And Brutus? Well... Brutus can't counted on to remember what he had for dinner last night save for the blow he had for dessert.

What’s funny about the contract negotiations around 2hr mark. If Jim would’ve just said take the 50 grand you are giving me “I didn’t ask for” and give 25k to each of them, reducing my pay down to 100. They probably would’ve gotten their 150k a piece lol. So loyalty to a point would be more correct. Jim wasn’t going to give up 50 grand a year to give to his pals.

For all the flack Ed Leslie gets, he epitomizes what the entertainment side of wrasslin was at the time. Charismatic, Uber popular, not the best in ring worker, but, could make it look good when needed. Would've at least liked to have seen him have TV & US Title reigns in WCW. He survived a horrific injury.. Cornette is a legit legend, nuff said.

Beefcake was as over as some people like to pretend I can easily recall shows where he was bottom of the card as the barber and crowds were dead then went nuts for the killer bees those shows were in New York New Jersey and Pennsylvania where I frequented in the mid to late 80s the best was when he forced fans to slap his hands walking down the aisle in Allentown Pa he was grabbing the women’s wrists and smacked his own hand with theirs

Met Brutus in person as a kid the spring or summer after Eddie Guerrero died. Total fucking prick to the guy infront of me in line. He was charging $40 for an autograph so I just bought an Eddie Guerrero shirt and went to go talk to Shawn Stasiak.

Brutus was my favorite character of that era. He was white hot. And nobody did that gimmick since sliced white bread Barnes. Now he was the greatest of all time
