See, this may be just me, but I think Kobe and MJ are different players. Kobe played with a lot of flair and his jumper is even prettier than MJ’s. mJ was was just robotic. A straight shot. Just rise up and shoot. I think they way it works is like this: Kawhi-> took moves from Kobe, but executes them the way MJ would. He doesn’t do too much. He’s not a showman. He just does a fade, does pull-ups. It’s his shot selection. It’s not fancy at all. Booker-> modern day basketball player with a Kobe flair. If Kobe was born in the 2000’s, he’d be like Booker, obviously better but his playstyle would be the exact same. Booker has integrated Kobe Midrange, with high volume 3pt shooting. He’s what Kobe would be if Kobe was starting his career in the age of Steph. Tatum-> what Kobe was. He takes 3’s when he needs to. He’s very capable of shooting it. But ultimately, he likes(and is better at) midrange and attacking the basket. He’s not a crazy 3pt shooter like Klay, Curry, Booker, etc. he’s solid. So yes, his playstyle right is most like the Kobe from the 2000’s that we all love💯. Kyrie-> nothing like him. Kyrie has a lot of skills that he took from Crafty guards. His layup package, triple threat, and face-up game he took from AI but he expanded his shot selection for more 3’s. His flair and slick handles he took from Mahamud Abdul Rauf and Stephon Marbury(tbh). And his post-up game he developed by watching undersized guards do it; most notably D-Wade. Look at D-wades post ups; the fades, hooks, floaters, etc. Kyrie does the same stuff now. He took something from everyone but nothing about his game specifically screams “Kobe”.

Tatum shoots nearly 6% better from 3 than Booker. He’s almost a 40% career 3 point shooter. That’s close to elite

Tatum = 2008-2010 Kobe Booker = 2011-2013 Kobe Kyrie = Iverson with a better shot, with Kobe footwork elements Honorable mention = Jalen Green His athleticism is similar to Kobe Tatum is not quite as athletic as Kobe was
@Kangthebum3 жыл бұрын
I agree if we talk about midrange, Tatum might got a bit Kobe on his midrange, but athleticism, game winner mentality, and skill set, Kobe is way way way more than Tatum rightknow, I don’t think and believe there is another one like mike or Kobe again

Tatum in his 24th is not on Kobe's level on his 24th Some might say, Tatum in his 24th just beat KD that Kobe never figured out how to do so or at least Tatum at 24 yrs old already led his team to the finals while Kobe still being carried by Shaq, well do you really think that Tatum alone without his great defender teammates like smart, brown and horford could really clamped down KD without their help? Are you joking? And playing with a prime Shaq would overshadow Shaq as the main guy of the team?? C'mon!..

@NJ DarudeDovich Facts. People don’t realize the level of difficulty on his fadeaway jumpers and footwork 🐍
@AshtonnnM2 жыл бұрын
Huge Kobe fan here, but 0:26 is not the same move. Kobe is doing his signature 2-step pullup jumper, which its simplicity makes it incredibly effective. (I personally stole this from him) What Tatum is doing is driving, stopping on his right foot, a stepback to his left foot and into a one-legged fadeaway. It takes a tremendous amount of strength in one leg to do this - stopping the movement of so much mass/force onto one leg and immediately move into the opposite direction... which is why he was actually slow pulling this move off. It's not as simple nor effective as the two-step pullup jumper (which uses two feet/legs to stop the bodily force). Fun fact: A lot of people consider the one-legged fadeaway the "Dirk Fadeaway", although he did not invent it, it was used in the 90's. Kobe did end up taking this move from Dirk and add it to his arsenal, though!

You thought of Kobe Bryant as the Standard of everything ,man, so everything others did is as you say " a more exaggeration of Kobe's move " " a not much difficult unlike Kobe did". You are too much Kobe-eyed. We can not hide the fact that Jayson Tatum's Idol is Kobe Bryant but Tatum is on his own craft. Why say "Tatum did the similar move but a with even exaggerated move on his hop spin? ". Implying that every Tatum moves are just second to Kobe? Do you know the reason why Tatum's step back and turnaround is as exaggerated as you said? You are right man, because Tatum is long, a way more longer than your standard Kobe that is why he couldn't be your Kobe. So anything he will do will be just imperfection to your Kobe's perfections. Tatum is smooth on his on way. And why say exaggerated? Man, leave Tatum a credit for his own craft. Do not mold him on other's shadows. Yes his Idol is Kobe and he studied Kobe but the way you say exaggerated seems like you wanna see Kobe in him and he is Tatum. Creating his own not someone's double. And man, the moves in your video as you constantly call similar to Kobe? every basketball player have at least done that similar moves as Kobe, youtube highlights will provide you with that. You are just being subjected to Tatum as to Kobe. Set free Tatum. Set free Kobe. We both love witnessing greatness.
