The soft names actually makes them more ominous. Just imagine, you all alone in your home, then, the tornado alarms echoes in the distance as someone warns from a speaker that "Joey" is coming and you have look for shelter. As the winds flow with great strength your house starts to tremble, you manage to get in the basement. Hours pass.. From the radio is hear that the tornado is gone, you come out and see nothing, nothing is left, none of your or anyone's houses, they are gone, reduced to pieces, some people is hurt, other missing, and worst, some are dead. And all this caos, is fault of "Joey"... Heck, i spontaneously pull out a horror story, welp, enjoy, i guess?

That’s probably an actual point really. We had storm Eunice rampage through the UK yesterday. It killed four people or at least that’s the number when I checked the news last night. Eunice caused 400k homes to have a power cut for at least a day, ripped the roofs off several buildings and blew several trees down. What truly gets me is that one of those deaths was totally unnecessary. We were all given weather warnings. I myself was in part of the red zone. A red weather warning means the weather is severe enough to potentially kill you and lots of power cuts, falling trees, debris and damaged roofs are likely. You’re told to stay home if you can, don’t travel, don’t drive and absolutely don’t drive high sided vehicles like lorries. I personally heeded this warning. I made sure I had food that would last a few days that doesn’t need a fridge or freezer, plenty of drinks, checked I still had a decent amount of candles, a working lighter, matches, two flashlights and several batteries. Remarkably I didn’t need to go out and buy anything. So when Eunice came through I was safely tucked up inside my flat. We didn’t even lose power. But… one woman in her thirties died when a falling tree crushed her car. We’d all been told to stay home and it would have been unreasonable for employers to force people to come to work when every school, train and airport were closed, including the two bridges between England and Wales across the river Severn. If only she’d stayed home then Eunice wouldn’t have killed her. On a lighter note, not one but two lorry drivers decided to ignore the weather warning and chose to drive during the storm. Which of course blew them over onto their sides, forcing the emergency services to go risk themselves to rescue the drivers and secure the roads they were now blocking to prevent anyone else from coming along and crashing into the tipped over lorries. Neither driver was hurt and presumably had to recover the lorries later after the storm had died down. I do have to wonder the circumstances that brought those drivers to be driving through such a bad storm with such high winds. Did they freely choose to drive then or were they pressured by bosses. Either way it was bad.

I had a manager exactly like the CEO. He’d text me constantly during the night and weekends then get mad when I didn’t reply. I was caring for my terminally ill brother in my home and he knew it. I think he believed he had all my time because I was salaried. Not one text was something that couldn’t wait until work hours. I finally initiated the talk about work-life balance with the comment that I bet his wife and family didn’t appreciate that he flew home on Fridays but they really didn’t have his attention. Turns out he was doing this to all his leadership staff but everyone was too scared to stop him. When word got around that I was why he stopped, I received several boxes of candies and some flowers.

When I saw that Jim was playing Robotnik I decided to watch the trailer despite never playing the games (didn't have the system for it growing up). @Christie Williams I live in Buckeye, Arizona, and it is a two or three hour drive to Palm Springs. While I have only ever had any actual business in Palm Springs once, I have been to it several times. I go on day trips I call Highway Adventures, in which I come up with a route that goes to various places within an area or to a certain place that I will have to go through interesting places to get to. I have explored much of Arizona and eastern California. One of my favorite destinations (By the way, most Highway Adventures do not have a destination, and instead are loops that just take us through places, and the main activity is looking out of the window and eating fast food. But some have a destination.) is the Imperial Sand Dunes. I go there two or three times each year, starting in 2020. So, since a lot of time is spent in California, I usually have to go through Palm Springs. The only time I ever actually went to Palm Springs for the sake of going to Palm Springs was when my dad took me to meet his cousin, who lived in Palm Springs. Interestingly, this cousin was the man who created Jamba Juice. You probably do not believe me, though.
