Lucy could link Katherine to Elena even if Elena was to Japan! She didn’t had to be there, at the party to link them. Elena is Katherine’s doppelgänger. They are kinda linked, they are like… the same person reincarnated. Doppelgängers are supernatural creatures. The spell that sealed the vampires in the tomb created by Emily and it is inside her Grimoire which I believe Bonnie carries with her everywhere! Either Bonnie or Lucy did the spell.

Witches can link anyone but when it comes to doppelgängers the thing is a bit easier because they already kinda connected. Steven McQueen (jermy) is suppose to be younger than Nina Dobrev (Elena) but in fact he is older in real life and is playing Elena's little brother. Ian Somerhalder was 30 and Paul Wesley was 27 when this started and Dammit Both of them look same TILL NOW after so many years. They are actually VAMPIRES stuck in the same age 😂😂

Love this episode. Appreciate that Amy had already appeared in a few episodes, makes her death more surprising. Katherine linking herself to Elena was a great plan, as was having a backup to Matt. Spelling the moonstone was a really smart move. Caroline has lots of good moments this episode. Great ending scene.

Caroline this season is written as the most likeable character. It's Caroline, Stefan and Matt. Bonnie is written to be a little close minded at first. So you are definitely lying about her being your favorite at this point.

@@olavihekandjo2928 elena and damon were my favorites since season one and bonnie is my third favorite so you can have opinions that differ and not be 'lying' bonnie has different opinion these two seasons but people can still like her because i know i did even when she threatened my other fave damon but i do think there is some truth in the writers try to act like caroline and stefan are the most liked/try to make them the most liked because the writers like to act like caroline and stefan are both lawful good vampires (there is no such thing) even though they are NOT and can do bad things and people still buy into the show peddling 'they are good' when most character are gray morality especially being a vampire who literally kills (aka bonnie has a point) meanwhile, the show harps on literally every little bad thing/things in general that damon, elena and bonnie does so yeah, if you don't actually use your own brain and buy into every narrative the show sells maybe you wouldn't like them but a lot of people do obviously and people have their own brains and use them and even if bonnie was some horrible person r/n there is nothing wrong with liking a character the show isn't saying you should like, it literally happens all the time and myself especially likes most characters so that never happens only character i didn't like in tvd are vicki/matt's mom (and one near the end of the series i'm sure you can guess) however, i do understand some people not liking bonnie at this point because she goes against vampires which is the shows main focus (though a lot of the things she says is right if i'm being honest) but overall, she is likeable and she had her fans at this point too (i watched since season one premiered on tv so i know) with matt... they just fumbled the ball but i wouldn't say he's meant to be one of the most likeable character this season really

Questions I could use clarification on this episode: Do we know that Matt's compulsion wore off? Cause he is not supposed to stop until Tyler kills him, but does Sarah's death make up for that? If so, that seems too convenient. Why did Damon lock Katherine in the tomb with the moonstone? Clearly, it's what she wanted this entire time, why leave it with her when you could have easily grabbed it while she was weakened? If they need it later, they can't enter the tomb (and be able to leave) as vampires. A human (including Elena) or a witch would be at risk of Katherine feeding on them.

Well Katherine loves to cover bases but I actually think that Katherine being knocked unconscious by the spell acted as an offset. It could be one or the other. The reason I think they locked the moonstone in there with her is to keep it and then safe. No vampire can enter which is useful for later but witches would be fine seeing as they have multiple ways to incapacitate enemies.

i guess the show explains matt's compulsion wearing off based on the fact that he was knocked unconscious by caroline. there is other instances in the show wear characters hit other characters really hard on the head or slap them and they aren't under compulsion anymore. i think they locked katherine away with the stone because they found out that katherine is scared of someone. so by locking her away with the stone they are have her ready to deliver to the person who is after her at any time.

I thought only the death of the compeller, them uncompelling, or a stronger vampire overpowering the compulsion would prevent a compelled person from doing what they have been told to do. Good point about the witches being able to enter, even with Katherine being strong, after not drinking blood for awhile, she would be weak enough for Bonnie to overpower her.

@@33llie It seems too easy to just slap someone and then they are no longer compelled. Stefan could have done that with Vicki back in season 1 when Damon's compulsion on her was too strong for Stefan to break.

@@rach3l629 that's my take either Katherine being spelled unconscious broke it or as the Ellie in the previous comment said Matt being knocked unconscious broke it. If the compulsion isn't deep then a good knock to the head can break it. Otherwise a magic or a vampire is necessary to break it

i think they didn't kill her because they know katherine is scared of someone. and if she is scared of someone, that person must be really dangerous and want katherine dead. so by locking her away, they have her all packaged up and ready for when the big bad shows up.
