As you said, the biggest challenge in leaving is the "coming back" part. Thanks for all the motivation, it really helps me to take up the biggest challenge i will be facing soon!

Recently I found my passion and when I'm not doing this now I don't feel complete. I have started my travel channel with my partner as we try to make the best possible videos so our viewers can feel like they are on the journey with us. We love doing it and I hope one day I am able to put all my time into this rather than work and do it!!!

You two are awesome! My plan to quit my job is a little different. My lease ends in a few months and I plan NOT to renew it and to live in my SUV for a year. I just CANNOT spend another $10,000+ a year on rent when that money could have been used to pay off my credit card. I'll keep my job while living in my SUV until I have paid off that debt and saved several thousands of dollars (which can easily be done in a year without the worry of rent). Then I'm free! I'm also currently working on cookbooks and creating a few online courses to help me make money once I'm free! My plan might sound drastic, but I need to do something drastic to gain the freedom I want. In my mind, debt is the ultimate form of modern day slavery and I HAVE to free myself. I'm nervous, but excited. I might document this journey of mine on KZbin, but we shall see. Thanks for sharing your tips!

so awesome, I quit my job just over 3 years ago but I moved to LA to be an actor. now I am changing things up a little. I have always wanted to host a travel show as I love to travel so I started my show and working on opening a Travel agency to help others travel and of course to help me travel with great deals. And I can do this remotely too. Living the life! thanks for your inspiration.

Thanks for the inspiration and motivation! I watched your videos and kept trying to think of something that I would enjoy and could make money at. Was drawing a blank. Then it finally came to me, a nomad job that is in high demand, something that I would enjoy and that I have qualifications for....farm sitting! Grew up on a farm, studied equine health in college and for the last 12 years I have lived on and operated a 40 acre sheep farm. I mean seriously, could it be more perfect for me?! So, I BOUGHT A BUS 😁. Farm is on the market, sheep are for sale... I am on my way!! Can't thank you enough for being a part of this new chapter in my life ❤️!

I live in London, and wanted to work remotely on a 2-month-in-and-out basis. meaning I'd be back 50% of the time. They agreed, but asked to determine my first destination for me instead. I agreed and ended up right now living in New Jersey working with a client non stop :D Slight fail, but well better than nothing. Careful with the deal you take (note: I have enough saved, so I'll just resign once I'm back... as I doubt they'd be ok me doing my high-stake job from around the world). I appreciate their efforts but they just didn't get that one right.

Hi guys, thanks for all your wonderful videos, y'all def. one of my faves! Question: do you have an episode where y'all talk about which vaccines to get to travel the world for a year? I am gonna go around the world in a few months, but dang, just to go to India, the CDC wants you to get like 8 shots??? then there's southeast asia, etc... help? advice? or if not advice, just curious what y'all did? thanks!
@timandfin5 жыл бұрын
Hey Steph! Don't have a great answer for you- we did a ton of shots before heading to SEA a few years ago but really haven't paid much attention since then. No one ever asks for proof of those crazy shots (like Japanese encephalitis). I would get shots depending on where you're going specifically. If you're just going to major cities in India, you're going to need to worry a lot less about getting all 8 shots than if you're going to remote villages/wilderness there. I'm sorry I don't have a black and white answer for you! It's just so circumstantial on where you're visiting- plus some of those shots are SO expensive.

This video was well-timed! I have been wanting to travel full time for about 3 years and was never sure when or how until the last month or so, and now I've almost got my debt paid off and I'm going to convert a sprinter van and travel around the U.S. indefinitely, aiming for late next year or early the year after. I've got a few ideas as to how I'm going to make money on the road and I'm trying to get them up and going before I quit my job but it's hard to have basically two full time jobs but it's worth it!

What do you do for a 401k and health insurance since you quit your jobs?
@timandfin5 жыл бұрын
We fund our own 401ks and Roth’s. Currently changing up 401k through our business though. For health insurance we both use Liberty Health Share. Been using them for over a year and have several friends who swear by their service. When we’re doing “adventure” travel like Vietnam we get a world nomads policy to cover us in case of a major issue.

For sure! This is one of my favorite things to discuss in depth and maybe needs its own video but it's pretty niche. Liberty Health Share in particular is great because it covers your costs in foreign countries (when many US providers dont)
