Timmy the X-tra large orphan monkey needs to find a home soon

A baby orphaned monkey-fed cows and kitten milk has caused abnormal growth, and Timmy has turned out X-Large; time is running out to find a foster mom before he is too old or big.
The Vervet Forest is a wildlife documentary focused on the lives of the monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation in South Africa . We join the orphaned and injured vervet monkeys in their adventure and struggles as they battle their way through the foster monkey mom program to become part of a monkey troop again. This channel is for those monkey lovers who enjoy monkeys living their lives as monkeys should.

Absolutely astounding! Timmy came in and immediately was able to do the feeding cage, meet other babies, find a mom and intergrade. The system you have in place is wonderful and it’s so amazing to see the end result!

I'm really happy for Timmy, he was brought in when he was a little older and not as cuddly as the younger babies, so you put him on the fast-track program and he handled that quite well! Great job again, to all at the VMF! 😘👏

It seems like those people who had him as a pet actually tried to care for him. Notice how he’s comfortable in the arms of the family’s mom, and not at all scared or skittish of people. He’s not clinging, and he’s not making noises and expressions of submission to strange humans. He’s well adjusted, big for his age, and wasn’t brought to the foundation covered in filth, so that tells me the family not only attempted to keep him well fed and clean, they must have tended to his emotional and psychological needs the best they could. He’s the opposite of what you see many baby monkeys in Asian monkey videos in terms of health, happiness, and amount of fear of misery.🥰

Timmy’s human family obviously cared for him well as he was clean, big, and not afraid of other humans. He looked like a happy baby monkey already, but I’m glad the family decided to give him to the sanctuary after realizing that keeping him happy and healthy wouldn’t be something they could do for 30+ years.

Timmie seems to have a little something extra special about him. Everyone in the troop simply loves him from the moment they meet him and he seems to be able to do as he pleases without any correction from the higher ranking members….. I think he should be called “Prince Timmie” as they all seem to treat him like the next king of the troop 😂😂😂

I wonder if there's something about a foster mom an orphan senses (smell, size, mannerisms) that attracts them to THE foster mom. At least we KNOW none of the other babies will call him names like "Tubby Timmy". They'll just accept him for who he is and love him to pieces!

All of the stars were in line for Timmy. I love it! The odds were against him by being a pet and so much older. Then he's almost instantly accepted and loved on. Y'all did another wonderful job! ❤❤

Thanks for letting all know YES they can b dangerous as why my mom had stopped fostering here in US as we moved n our Capuchin was in cage for almost 24hrs n not norm for em n in moving he was let out got excited n bite my mom on neck almost killed her n not his fault but had to give him up to monkey lady n end fostering r adopting

When LB was a toddler, he would fall asleep like Timmy, just sprawled wherever he happened to be when he got sleepy. I have a picture of him on his back draped over his favorite stuffed animal with his head hanging down... couldn't care less. Oh, Rexie, my heart, look at him go, he's doing so amazing!

I found that story about Claire taking Marcy into another troop interesting and funny ! She didnt want the responsibility, liked her freedom but yet she cared enough to make sure she found a family for her little one before she went off with herself.... 😂 Seems Marcy adjusted well and obviously did not end up with abandonment issues lol ... good luck to Timmy ❤ the family did the right thing by taking him to you guys but seriously!! I just cant understand how people dont think ahead, are they so stuck in the moment that it doesnt cross their mind that these babies grow up, do they consider that fact that these beautiful creatures are wild and it's not fair to keep them in nappies !! I get the feeling that the kids were getting great enjoyment out of baby Timmy until he started getting a real monkeyality lol then they realized, hes a monkey !! He is going to do monkey things .... I kind of felt sorry for him when I seen him see the other little monkeys for a while I dont think he knew he was one of them ! .... I absolutely applaud the work you guys do .... its fantastic ❤❤

That’s probably why they gave him up. Even though it was illegal to keep them, The mom deserves some praise for taking good care of of Timmy. Timmy didn’t look anything like those baby macaques in those disgusting exploitation videos from South East Asia. He was the exact opposite, and notice how he didn’t flinch or watch the humans nervously that kept him. I’m glad the mom realized she couldn’t care for him for 30+ years and gave him up, instead of abandoning him as a pet after troop integration would have been nearly impossible.
