Great to see it opened, thank you. Of course sad no chase rares. Or even Timmy, bolt or plow. Glad you can use some of them for your collection. Also a lesson for people wanting to buy an old product like this and open it. Easy way to turn 300 euro into 20. But if you do it for the Joy of opening, go ahead. So classic. I played from Revised into 5th edition, before I quit the chase. Just got back in and I still love those old classic cards. So simple, elegant and classic. Ya the Power 9 sucked hardcore though.

This brings me back. A friend of mine convinced me try MTG with him and we split one of these box sets. The card shop owner and other kids in the store gathered around and made us two decks out of the two starters and cards that they donated. Nearly 30 years later, I don't play MTG anymore, but a lot of those people are still my friends.

Wow, I love this video so much! This is the first product i bought, July 95, during my summer vacation. This gift set, and one pack of Ice Age and one Chronicles. Me and my older brother made a deck each and we played on the floor. I remember two of the rares: Gaea's Liege and Tetravus. And I even tried to make a "combo" with Tetravus and Orcish Oriflamme. I still got the glass beads and use them still to track the life. So much fun and nostalgia! Thanks :)

Many (I want to say 15ish, maybe more) years ago I bought a sealed 4th Edition starter box for $150. I opened all of the decks but left the cards in the boxes in their original order. The most valuable card in them is a Land Tax. I still have them all. They make a nice display piece. 😎

4th edition / ice age is when I used to play magic. My main deck was a blue/white control deck with serra angel as the heavy hitter. Worked pretty well. Came in second in a tournament. :) fun times. Nowadays I don't play, but I do pick up some boosters from time to time just to crack open some cards.

Interesting.. I recall my very first MTG purchase was this box. I must have gotten a different one, mine didn't have the duelist magazine but I had a MTG plastic coin and my pouch was felt not (p?)leather.. nice trip thanks!

Loved this video! So much nostalgia. Wish I could smell those brand new cards! About your question, I like when land cards show the actual landscape and not all of these absurd and intrincated designs so 4th edition are one of my favorites. I really dislike Ravnica lands which just show buildings and don't represent the Mountain/Island/etc at all.

When you open old products like this you never do it for the money. It’s like traveling back in time and in my case, going back to the very first mtg product I got from my parents. Truly a priceless experience.
