Great trigger as always from Timney Triggers. This is a 100% improvement over original factory trigger, a must have for all Mosin Nagants.

@@sbentsen2714 You are very smart @sbentsen2714. Check out the CBRPS Bullpup MNAR for the Mosin it looks "Clandestine European Guerilla" on carbines running an optic scope or IR. The Timney trigger is the most important upgrade if you're going to ever shoot the rifle.👌👁👁

This is the best trigger mod you can do to a mosin. I put one on my mosin a year go and it's make a world of difference.

Great video, made my Timney Trigger upgrade quick and easy. The lock screw for the cross pin is a big plus. After much hesitation I upgraded my M44 to an Archangel polymer stock...all I can say is WOW!!!
@alifr40883 жыл бұрын
Do you kept the original stock?
@calescapee9642 Жыл бұрын
I talked to Timney Triggers on the phone . You can remove that Safety from the trigger because it is redundant to the Mosin Rifle . The Mosin already has a Bolt Safety. You can leave it on if you want to grind out your stock or if there is no bolt safety.
@oneijack989 ай бұрын
The bolt safety sucks balls. Why remove a upgrade? Besides this sucker can end up being a hair trigger if not careful so I'd error on the side of safety.
@barnabywild22159 ай бұрын
@@oneijack98 So tote it unloaded with a breech flag in. Or unloaded, bolt open, or loaded, bolt open. It's a horrible safety and likely to snag on a cuff anyhow.

Great video, it helped me to install mine. BUT I used the Wheeler Engineering kit of hollow ground gunsmithing screw drivers to avoid damaging those screws and surrounding wood or metal surfaces.

I would consider one if I could keep my stock in "stock" condition. I do not want to perminately modify my mosin.
@plopez13594 жыл бұрын
Completely understand, took me a year to decide to upgrade the stock...I have no regrets now...amazing results. I kept the old stock so when I decide to retire the rifle, i will put it back on.

Unless you have a perfect numbers matching sniper version, I wouldn't worry about it. I have seen the value of Mosins go from $90 to about $275 in 30 years so I doubt if the value is an issue. I did this to one of mine and felt the same way, but my gun fired really well, the trigger wasn't even that bad but the stock was terrible so I had to replace it and bought a plastic archangel stock and figured I may as well do the trigger too as it's still just a $300 rifle and I just want to shoot things with it, not hang it on a wall. Anything to make it fire a bit better or more comfortable is a good thing. I will never sell it. I will shoot it. And shoot it. I have a sniper version with everything original right down to the oddball removable steel magazine and I would never modify it. I shoot the other one every chance I get. Just enjoy your rifle.

My advice is get an after market stock for it, that way you can always put the gun back into its factory configuration if you decide to go back.

You could buy a donor stock at a gunshow for next to nothing. Don’t waste your time though, the trigger is junk
@bigslinking Жыл бұрын
@@richardlea818 Why do you think it's not an awesome trigger pack? My only complaint is the safety is too tall and needs to be cut down 1/4-1/3 inch, so it does not engage on eject, is that your complaint also richardlea818?

For those who find themselves watching Tommy work on that 307 Timney Trigger, I just got off the phone with one of the techs, Jeff, he was amazing, he asked if I wanted to send it in, as my safety lever was just stuck and no matter what I did, I could not move the darn thing. Well, seconds after I talked to Jeff at Timney, my trigger was FIXED> no wonder Timney Triggers has such a sterling reputation on the web, Thanks Jeff so much for helping me.

You prefer the factory safety? Or prefer not to do the inletting?
@Bryan142207 жыл бұрын
I'd Rather not do much inletting on my Mosin Snipers, I don't use a safety on my Mosin rifles, I just keep the the chamber empty till I'm ready to shoot. A Sporter version without the side saftey like the one you guys sell for Mauser 98's would be lovely.
@timneytriggers7 жыл бұрын
You will need to do a good amount of inletting just to accommodate the trigger. Obviously more with the safety in place unless you use the Arch Angel Mosin Nagant stock which is inletted for our trigger with safety.

Is the ATI Monte Carlo set up to easily install this trigger?
@Digitalsharecropper4 жыл бұрын
I cut it off on mine. It looks terrible, I just couldn't have that thing sticking up there. The original safety is kind of cool anyway. That big ugly tab is not me. Nothing personal, just don't like it.

Such a nice trigger. If you take your bolt all apart and make every surface smooth and free from the horrible machine marks, and do this Timney trigger, you will be amazed at how much you will enjoy shooting with this old rifle. It's well worth the money and a frog could install it.

Does the trigger safety make the gun drop safe?
@legal76932 жыл бұрын
probably not due to the way mosin triggers work and this safety is just a trigger block. and even if the gun is drop safe you should never drop it in the first place and treat it as if it isn't drop safe

Great trigger feel, cheaply built. My first one snapped the sear in half the minute i installed it. Timney replaced it. Now the second one has broken in the damn place. This one made it 200 rounds. Not going to pay to ship this one back, just to have another break on me when i want to use the gun. Very disappointed. Waste of $100+ dollars, then another waste of $12 to ship the first one back. Not cool

That small screw that locks the original trigger pin in place is so small that none of the hex keys in my garage would fit it. Despite the cost of the trigger a lousy hex key isn't included. Nor do they tell what size you need to buy in the instructions. You do get some weird God poem by Lauretta P Burns though. This atheist would rather have had the hex key. I ditched the unnecessary second safety mechanism thus avoiding the extra mutilation of the stock required to accomodate it. Hopefully the pin will be kept in place by the wood as per Mosin's intentions as I couldn't tighten the screw with the non-existant hex key. Tip use a Dremel to rough out but finish off with a good sharp wood chisel for a neater job. I masked off the external wood and painted the inside of the cut areas with Ronseal Wood Hardener to seal the grain from any oil that might get in there and rot it. Also gives the fibres a bit of extra strength after all the butchery it's endured.
