This is by far the best explanation I have found. It was written by Heiderose Kober: This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, (the taller child) who later becomes the military commander, never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, (the drowning boy), gives his friend the pendant. The camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl (later Dimash's Wife and the mother of his daughter who is killed). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral l compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. iowaculture.gov/.../american-troops-move-through The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad.

Hi Curtis! Thank you for your sincere reaction, checkout the beginning again when the war started, Dimash was the solder, he was the main solder in the film. When I first heard this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching! 😢😢 Dimash has worked hard for 3 years on this MV, and it turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts in trying to bring the world together in love, peace and unity. He is a Legend and will go down in History. The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end; 2) Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end; 3) The young girl, became Dimash’s future wife who gave birth to his son at the end, and Dimash's daughter who was killed by the Piper's army. They were all torn by the war. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony. I’m choosing life!! 🙏🙏 See you in your next reaction. Love from Canada 💖💖

I loved your reaction, and despite the fact that you have to watch the video several times, because there is too much information, Dimash has the ability to transport us with his voice, and his sensitivity on these issues, He has been giving a message to the world, he is an artist where in each song, he gives us a story, an emotion, and with his vocal qualities he is a perfect mix, the girl who dies in the war is his daughter, the fruit of the love he had with the girl with the pendant, the other antagonistic boy is the other friend that Piper tells him, they took different paths and in the end he took revenge for what he did to his family, she is saved by a group of people when in the race to flee lost the girl , she dies in the pact giving birth to what will be the Savior of humanity , that is why Dimash appears in the end guiding people towards the light . The desert scene represents the pilgrimage, the different cultures, religions of the world, intertwined to realize that we only have one sky to share among all, talismans, are part of the sundials in the ancient compasses marine, They serve to indicate the north without error, the boy who became president, the bad guy did not find the right direction, he loses the north that's why he never hangs it around his neck, the story is incredible, and only seeing it several Sometimes we realize the innumerable details of it. Thanks Dears .✌️🤗🌈🇰🇿❤️ if you could react to Omi Oter it would be perfect, another powerful message

The story: 3 childhood friends including 2 boys are in love with the girl. The boy (Dimash) who offers the "talismans" he has made as a sign of friendship, will marry the young girl (the "talisman" is a piece that is part of an old maritime compass and indicates the North). They will have a baby girl (the one who was killed) and the mother is expecting another baby. The third friend who became ruler, the "Piper" (referring to "Piper of Hamelin") is now his enemy, he is "the one who lost the North". When Dimash dies, his son is born and his mother dies in childbirth. But the boy is saved by his community made up of people of all origins and religions and wears his mother's talisman. He will grow up like a war orphan and will then become this pilgrim, messenger of peace, worthy son of his father. Or does Dimash rise to heaven, I don't know? Dimash says that no sacred book calls for war, and we see the procession of all religions united, like a "stations of the cross". (At the end, I think it's Dimash who takes the lead of the sages and they all go towards the light). In the story, Dimash thinks his pregnant wife died too, he lost everything. You see anger arise when the wise go through a storm. He has to put an end to all this. He's going to kill his ex friend, who personifies evil. And when he turns to face the enemies, he does not seek to kill them. He lowers his weapon as if to say "kill me, I'm already dead. I did what I had to do". Dimash has been working on this project for 3 years. Merci pour la réaction, salutations de France :)

Thank you for your heartfelt and genuine reaction. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But indispensable and simply indescribable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. He composed this song for three years. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. If you want to know more about this video check out dimashnews.com Dimash was the littel boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. And she gave birth to her second child in the video. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. Desperation has led him to kill his former friend. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. Btw, Dimash has received an Award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere.

We are all One. We need peace. The killing of our innocent brothers and sisters, especially of the children caught up in those wars, needs to end. In order to be a good actor you need to feel the part of the character you are portraying. DImash felt this to his very core. His tears were not an act. He grieves for lives lost in war. Dimash "died" yes, but there is eternal life in God's realm. The tragedy is that we keep repeating the unnecessary deaths of God's children that is rejected by all religions.
