Thanks Tim, great stuff as always. I've used S1 for years and still occasionally find myself looking at the screen saying WTF just happened? Knowing to look for those unmodified keyboard shortcuts is a solid tip. Thanks for your quality content.

03:22 "You are now looking at your automation" (by inadvertently having pressed the "a" key.) You saved my life Tim! One of my songs was showing this behavior (with a seemingly non-functioning on/off button and "display off" showing (which can't be changed to "display on"... I spent at least an hour trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Your simple tip to just press the "a" key again (to get it out of automation mode) did the trick. I've used Studio One for five years and had never accidentally push the "a" shortcut key... until today. I'll remember this forever from own. IMO, ST1 should light up a little "automation mode" warning to give users a clue why suddenly their interface looks different. Or.... just look in "Tim Talks Audo". Hee hee. 😅🤣😂

Great information Sir. I have actually had that happen to me as well and didn't realize I had hit the "a" key. I'm still trying to get used to which key commands widen the track view vertically and horizontally as an alternative to doing it with your mouse though. I have seen it, but can't remember where.

It’s E and W. Modifier is Shift, I think. I don’t know why but it’s taking me forever to get used to which one does what.

What audio interface are you using? If you're using windows audio or a third party interface, you may need to use that companies "console" to change the block size.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'll save this info for later, as I'm just utilizing Studio One as my in the box Livestream mixer. I do want to attempt to create instrumental music later.

These are very useful tips. could be a recurring item. Those little things where sometimes you have to search multiple videos because it's mentioned in a video somewhere. (but which one was that again) THX 4 the vid.

"Something happened" is constantly happening for me in Studio One. I have a weird line in my Editor. It's draggable. When I drag it to the right, I get a lighter color occurring for the event up in the main window. I have no idea what I did. Most likely I tapped command. Anyone know what this line in the editor is?

I wish this was my problem...My damn audio keeps dropping in studio one and then the whole session freezes..I ve been using this daw for 5 years and never had this problem before...support tried to help but I can't figure it out ..this doesn't happen in any other DAW I own.. so it's time too move on..R.i.p studio one 5 years down the drain..😂
@TimTalksAudio2 жыл бұрын
Firstly, don't think of it as five years down the drain, it's five years of experience and growth to become a better engineer. The methods you worked on in that time will translate to any other DAW if you switch. As far as your issues, have you tried rolling back versions to something that is more stable on your system?
@t3reeproduction3142 жыл бұрын
@@TimTalksAudio No I haven't tried that yet.. to be honest I'm learning pro tools more right now and enjoying the process..Im about to get ableton in the summer after I learn pro tools more.. this experience has taught me its probably better to learn a few different daws..yes you can have your favorite but getting some knowledge on different platforms will make you a better engineer/producer..

@highpeakrecordings2 жыл бұрын
Great stuff Tim. The one that drives me crazy is whatever the key is for scratch pad - seem to hit that all the time. But hitting A is also very common. By the way, how do you get your busses in the edit view like that? I can't for the life of me remember!
@highestbuilding2 жыл бұрын
Just go to the keycommands menu, type in "scratch"....I can't tell you the orginal shortcut, because I deleted it :-)
@gregnott71572 жыл бұрын
In S1 options, you can enable a setting that pushes S1 to create automation lanes for busses and VCAs thus causing it to show up as a track in Arrange view. I think this is what you are asking??
@highpeakrecordings2 жыл бұрын
@@gregnott7157 that’s exactly what I was asking, so thanks. Just can’t remember where that setting is!
