you know, just to add something to these days of modern dating... about four years ago when I was in college, I was getting kind of deep in desperation, wanting to date someone really hard, and I crushed in a girl of my class, asked her out, got rejected, then later on I lay low for a bit, stopped thinking about dating, then this girl who was a veteran in the course I was in started talking to me and got flirty. I wasn't really interested in her, but you know, it proves girls still tries to put in effort to get a bf. and after a bit, I met this other girl from a different course, the story was rly stupid but to make it short I approached her holding juice I didn't want to drink, she was with her friends (guy friends) and I just asked if anyone wanted to drink it because I didn't want to waste it. she accepted to drink it, and as I was going my way to leave, she asked me to stay and talk for a bit. kay, then we talked, and before I go back to my classroom she gave me her number. we chatted for some time, then we started dating. just like that. so yes, these things still happen and I'm no chad either. complete opposite. I'm short, 5'3 I think? 163cm. moral of the story: there is still hope boys. if we just stop focusing in dating and try to get rid of our desperation first, then doing things and going your way, you can find people. oh right, and I had to gather some courage to speak to a group of people like that. it did wonders to me and my self-esteem, because people, um... normal people won't tell u to "fk off", they will most likely act polite.

Online dating is extremely bad for everyone on a mental and emotional level. The amount of rejection, coupled with the lack of both feeling and tone shown through texting and messaging along with the absence of actual social interaction that is experienced when seeking a partner or hookup online is detrimental to mental health, leaving people feeling more depressed and worthless than they could ever imagine. Go out and socialize in the real world, make friends that know other people and that empower you, and avoid dating apps completely if you want to altogether feel better about yourself and the world around you.

As an introvert I appreciated dating platforms. Started around 2003 at the age of 18 or so. Those websites back then were cool, way more customizable profiles, some had even livechat and comment functions on the main page, where everyone could interact, it wasn't only about dating and felt like a chill community. Today we have these dumbed down apps, full with fake profiles and shallow/arrogant/narcissistic people. Over the years I had lots of dates back then, never a bad experience and some contacts became more serious. Since my last relationship I haven't had an online date, the women I chat with are 99% terrible and put 0 effort in it and if you get to the meeting question, they ghost you. My ex was from Brazil, I'm glad in those countries are still many people to find, that aren't fully corrupted by western society, so I gotta have a look there again.

I did dating really much time. Even if you meet a girl in life that is attracted to you that level of communication is poor as hell. There was an episode after 1 hour of date we were kissing. And she forgot my name 😂. That was okay if it was just a small mistake but no. That woman cannot remember anything you say to them, 0 effort. They can react to phrases or words but cannot get the whole context I am saying. Even chat gpt can communicate better 😅

I would say even if you are quite good looking and good communicator it is very difficult to get something out of this dates. Even your your goal is just sex. It is really hard when you are the only one who handle most of communication and initiative
@dasshrs Жыл бұрын
The formula like so (approximately) 1. Communication level effects probability of sex 2. It is really hard to get good communicaton if you are only one that has something to say and the girl is just passive and not interesting as hell. So with first point would be hard😅

Same experience on Grindr (the Bi/Gay dating app). Either they look for a quick asap "fun" (yes, you know what kind of), or they are false. If you're not a sporty kind of guy (in looks), most will reject you. If you're looking for a relationship, be aware that it will take a lot of time and nerves. Many conversations will end up in a dead end. Some guys use photos from 2-5-even-10 years ago. Some will stand you up and block.

Before you use anything like a dating app or literally anything, try to deeply understand how the people behind it make their money with it. In this case f.e it earns its money by having the customer over and over on the app aka making them addicted to the chase and not actually giving them a solid relationship. So if you look for a relationship on tinder you already fighting a battle that was lost from the start.

This is exactly why I quit all dating apps a while ago. Stopped getting falsely stimulated by watching corn or consulting with Jill. No more vaping either. Back in the gym after several months of being in a rut and no motivation. Deleted my instagram. Changed my diet in a week back to lean proteins and moderating carbs. I felt better within a week, temptation was beyond hard. I decided if I wanted to meet ladies, I'm not doing it through social media or dating apps and doing it in person. Above all else, I started to feel present in my life. More confidence, talking to friends and going out to private parties and events. 90 days later, I'm meeting wonderful ladies and not focused on sex at all, nor am I expecting it. But rather dating organically through mutual friends, it is so easy to talk when you're excited about life and what lies ahead. When you stop looking, that's when you're found. Every one of the most healthy relationships I've had happened this way. Pretty tired of modern social norms and the social deconstruction that has been happening after COVID. Being social was awesome in the 2010's.

Twice now I've gone on one date with someone random off of a dating side, and both of them tried to steal my identity. One somehow used my phone number as her own contact for a legal office building a criminal case against her. The other was so insulted that I rejected her that she spammed my number across several online sources to the point that I received at least one unwanted call and several texts per day, for a year. Fortunately none of my financial sources were compromised. Dating is trouble, but the woman I ended up marrying was someone I knew and trusted for years.

I understand that many guys may have had catastrophic results on Tinder and that hurt their self-esteem quite a bit, but let me say this- it's not worth it. All the dates I've had with that app haven't led to anything serious. And there are A LOT of crazy, traumatized women around. One girl got very mad at me and typed paragraphs for trying to set up a meeting, even though that was the whole point of the app in the first place. Some girls just straight up told me they wanted to f**k because I looked cute to them. Tinder absolutely destroyed my perception of healthy relationships. Tinder was amazing back in the first days when nobody knew about it, I was getting a lot of matches and dates, now pretty much everyone uses it and the competition it's just way too much, you have to be very handsome if you want to have some luck there, it's not enough with just being good looking... you have to stand out from the rest. Nowadays you have better chance of dating IRL than in apps such as Tinder.

My experience was pretty similar to this with dating apps. Just bots and most of the real girls I matched with would eventually ghost me. It wasn’t until I took a break came back months later decided to give it another shot. I managed to meet my life partner. The goal of apps like this is to not go into it with any big expectations if you get something nice it’s nice but forging a real connection really is a rare experience. Always make that effort to put yourself out there and try talking to people whether it’s through an app or in person. Eventually you’ll hit the mark.
