The S12 dust canister is a little on the small side. We compare it to the dust canister size of the Dyson V8, the Dyson V10, and the Dyson V11.
We also find that the pre-motor filter needs fairly frequent cleaning - at least more frequently than some of the other cordless vacuums we have.
It’s nice that both S12 batteries can be charged in the included wall mount, however there is no way to charge the batteries without using the wall mount. You cannot plug the charger into the battery or the vacuum.
When you release the trigger the vacuum power always returns to automatic. When you prefer a power other than automatic this can be frustrating as you have to either lock the trigger in place or always manually reset the power (see this in the video).
The S12 just doesn’t maneuver as well as the Dyson cordless machines. The S12 doesn’t turn tightly and it will sometimes continue to move a little forward when you are turning it. All-in-all the movement isn’t that bad but it is not a precise as some other vacuums we’ve tested.
This is a heftier machine than units like the Dyson V7/V8/V10. It weighs about the same as the Dyson V11 - which is the heaviest of the Dyson stick vacs. This is ok but if you think you are getting a super lightweight stick vac this is not the case.
The S12 is a pricey machine. It is typically between $500 and $600 USD.

Things I dislike about this Dyson v11 I have.. err had... Well for one it was way expensive (almost $800) and it quit working 4 months after I bought it. Returned it and did not get a replacement. Looking to buy a Tineco now. I personally do not leave my vacuum sitting out in the open where I would NEED to plug it in directly. It goes back into its home when its finished doing its job. Wall hanging it sounds great to me. Having to hold down the trigger for 10 minutes while vacuuming REALLY gets old, and tiring, fast.

All the Dislike is considered as Minor issues. Tineco is still way cheaper than Dyson. I do agree the Power reset is kind of annoyed. Maybe that's how a soft start can ignite gradually tp prolong lifespan of the motor. Yea the trigger secured is a beauty design which non of the vacuum in the market is having it yet in Year 2022.

Use the wall mount. You can't blame the gear for your improper usage.

Anyone got issue adding device to app? I've tried both automatic and manual to no avail. I can't even connect to its broadcasted SSID on manual method. It got stuck on obtaining IP address, then it dropped me off. Tried with all 3 mobiles, same things happened. If anyone has a solution, much appreciated if you can share. Their support is useless so far.
