I love ur break in procedure an ur sense to check an recheck piston condition. Saw already sounds strong and healthy I believe it will be a hard cutter sir thank you very much for all you do. I'm new to the channel but not saws I log every day and do some tree work for friends and family in my free time I normally have a saw n my hand 7days a week. U have the correct way of saw break in an inspection.hope all is well with you and your family.stay safe.

461 is my favorite saw. Woods port, opened exhaust, and a maxflow. Then let her eat.

On a side note, I saw you dog into the log pretty hard and she never bogged. That's some nice work... and also speaks to your ability to sharpen a chain and set your rakers appropriately. I an still trying to dial in my sharpening... along with... well... literally everything else lol!

Thanks, thats all part of my testing. Every saw likes a little different chain/raker combo. And I like to put some load on the saws as I break them in to see how much torque I have.

Thank you for explaining “4 strokin “. So it just running fat at full throttle under load?? I’ve hear that sound but wasn’t sure what the cause was. Great video, awesome saw.

Yes "4 stroking is the sound of a rich saw, its overfueling at wot" That saw is rich for break in so you will.hear it 4 stroking here and there in the cut.

Tinman-another great video...are new saws typically broken in by the manufacturer? Do you recommend 40:1 mix if 50:1 normally used for first few tankfuls?
@tinmanssaws
@tinmanssaws 3 жыл бұрын
New saws need to be broken in by the purchaser, the manufacturer will typically only test fire the saw before its shipped. I run everything at 45:1
@SonOfLiberty1984

Your demonstrations are absolutely outstanding to a guy just starting to learn this stuff. The 4 stroking demo is crystal clear here. It was easy to see you lift the saw and immediately hear the difference. How do you decide when a saw is broken in? Do you simply have a static time interval system set or are you looking for signals of how the saw is running before you open er up?
@tinmanssaws
