Are you using a car amp to power it in the house? This vid makes me want to buy an 18. What frequency does it preform the best at?

Yes I'm using a car amp, and I have a video coming out soon on how to install it indoors. In my box it normally peaks around 50hz, but I have it on a dsp to flatten the response. It loves the lows though as it can go all the way down to 12hz and still pressurize the room.

I'm curious why you use low sensitivity car audio subs vs a propoer home/hifi/or even pro audio driver. Excursion doesn't matter as much when it's in a room that's much bigger than the internal volume of a vehicle.

I was able to save some money going with a car audio subwoofer vs an equal home theater sub. Having that extra bit of excursion definitely will help to move more air.

I'm certain the opposite is true. You're far more concerned with maximum linear displacement per stroke than how loud it can play.

What rms are you giving that 18?
