what about the mattress / sheets / pillows? You have to store all that elsewhere?

Yes those are all stored when traveling in the cabinet across of the bed.

This bed is thinner than some other ones, just because we had to have room to fit the jeep in it. The Spyder conversion trailer has a 12 in. mattress. All depends on what you are trying to haul.
