A little road trip 2 hours from NYC took me to A Tiny House Resort in Catskill, NY. The place gave me tons of ideas for possibly building a little vacation house for myself. How did you like the designs of these homes?

I love this place!! Stayed here a few times. The last time I was there I honestly did not want to leave so I ended up extending my trip. I'm actually going back in April 😊. It's my escape from the city. I love how serene it is. Its pet-friendly and also has a dog park. My dog loves going on sniffing adventures throughout the trails. Its actually quite beautiful especially in the wintertime.

Thanks so much for sharing this!!! Somehow I thought tiny houses were illegal/against code in NY but maybe it's just NYC. (okay, got some clarity from video later on) Btw The size of that tiny house is the same as most apartments in NYC. NYC is the original tiny house living!

I know! It was so educational for me that the land had to be classified as a campground. Such helpful information for people looking to recreate this. The Big One was more than enough space...I had the best time there.

They are legal throughout the US just different regs each state
@zeeqq1058 ай бұрын
She said her tiny home is a legal trailer on a campground. So it’s not labeled as a tiny home. Every place has different zoning laws. Ny state doesn’t recognize homes under 700ft.

Interestingly, the Catskills were historically known for not only the resorts, but for bungalow communities specifically aimed toward Jewish people. Apparently, Jewish farmers in the late 1800s started renting rooms there & that's how it started.

So Rude! We literally made a 30 minute detour to just to check the house. We even tried to call beforehand but no one is answering. There is even no prompt in the website saying that we couldn't check the house beforehand so we decided to just go. We were just stopping by and we were welcomed by an old lady. We told them that we would check in next week but we would like to see and drive around the community and look at one of the houses. She just handled us a flyer to check their houses online. She reiterated TWICE that it is impossible for us to look around. BUT WE ARE LITERALLY THERE. Would never recommend this place.
