If Adriana wrote a book on caring for betta fish, it'd be a massive hit, I'm sure! 🐠🐠🐟🐟

@@ms.opinion8470 Maybe a new law could be introduced,.. to own a pet (of/from any source) you need to prove you understand how to look after it and, if sold from a pet shop (as abhorrent selling animals is, but that's a different story) then they should come with the best literature there is to help owners understand the immediate and long-term needs of the animal it is they're purchasing. Adriana's book should come with all sales of betta fish.

I don't care for putting any any animal in too small a space for it's size, or any birds in a cage. It just makes me sad. This makes me think of getting a beta fish... she did a great job. Great pet, living in style.

I tried to have beta, my house being cooler in the winter was a problem even with a tank heater and for one fish I couldn't keep the water balanced. I did enjoy watching the beta and felt horrible when he died. Even a little fish entered my heart

Well betta live live in small puddle/pool of water in tropical rain forest that's why their gill evolve not to only breath on water but also could take oxygen from air as well that's why Bettas can survive on small glass of water without bubble aerator, while other fish can't . But it can be stressful for betta to live in small glass/cup of water for a while. To make them stress free 5 gallon aquarium is enough to mimic small puddle of water in tropical rainforest, also little bit of tanin released from submerged dead leaf/wood will help because it will mimic their natural black water in the tropical rainforest.

Agreed, I really don't think they should harvest these bettas because people don't know anything about them, let alone how to care for them. Walmart got people angree over the way they cared for their fish and they were forced to get rid of them. Fish in a tiny cup is just wrong period!

I loved my little Prince. My neighbor just handed me a little square dirty cube of water with a beta fish and she said she couldn’t take care of him any more and they were moving away. I had no idea how to take care of a beta fish but I learned from online info on the internet. I bought him a much larger tank with his own little hammock for him to lay on. I also bought leaves from the areas these little guys come from that my Princey Boy loved laying on and he thrived. He was always making bubbles for me. I had him for a few years until he got sick and I had to put him down. I sure miss my little Prince💕

I never had this kind of fish just the fan tail fish with the big eyes. I had a black one named Pico, who came to the point where he loved having his fins stroked and his head stroked when he came up to the top of his bowl. I fed him special flakes. He turned gold with black rimming his fins. I was about to get him a bigger bowl and he passed away. I was traumatized. I’d had fish for years. Seeing your fish coming out of his shell and relaxing was great to see.

A recent study found that fish show affection and love, remember faces for 5+ years, and are quite smart, and can even learn tricks (there is footage of a guy who taught his goldfish how to play foosball in a special foosball tank he built). Fish truly are remarkably dear, sweet creatures, and we NEED to stop the abuse at pet stores. No one should live like that. That is the equivalent of sticking an innocent person in an asylum room, with nothing, not even food. This lovely lady, amongst others who have been spotlighted, have shown the love and gratitude fish show, their enjoyment of companionship, and how easy it can be, to do right by them. Thank you to this kind soul for saving Stevie, and countless other beautiful little fish souls. It is obvious they love and adore you, and is beyond grateful, and I am grateful too. May your life, and that of the souls you help, always be beautiful.
