BA's Tiny House is still one of the best designed I've seen . It goes into my top three for sure, the size, composure, and perspective - it surely has it all ..

One of my favorite!!! Not necessarily because of the design-I wasn't so excited about the shower right in the front of the house, but because of B.A.'s change of lifestyle and enthusiasm!! Who hasn't wanted to just chuck it all, sell all their stuff and go on the road in a tiny house!! I know I do!

I was fortunate enough to tour this tiny house in person. This is the tiniest house I have toured, and I have to say, even at 5'3" it was too tiny for me. My 6'3" husband wouldn't even go in haha. Still, BA did a wonderful job of making her living space feel very zen, when you can see it with all of the decor. The plexi glass is so ingenious. And obviously it is very well built.

I think I made that piece of glass art in the kitchen window. We had a little gallery in downtown Dallas years ago and sold them there. That was weird to stumble on in a video. Nice place!

Its really amazing how many people you guys meet on the road...I can imagine the tiny houses seeing each other on the horizon and both owners trying to plan where to pull over for a chat. It's lovely and the tiny house community really do have an old fashioned neighbourly attitude and they seem to love meeting up at the exhibitions etc. It's really heartwarming to see how downsizing and recycling can bring back human contact that's been eroded by social media.

Jenna: While I'm not super crazy about this particular design I have to say that the biggest thing I absolutely love about it that it is SO REALISTIC. I know I know...I sound contradictory here. LOL. My house is about 1500 square feet and it's just too big for my wife and I. We live in just a little over half of the space and the rest is incomplete so the excess space is pretty much wasted. I hate it here...and I grew up in this house! LOL. Go figure. So...now that I am retired and disabled I would absolutely love to own a realistic little home like this one. The owner is very down to earth and she's real. Sometimes we watch tiny house shows and the house just doesn't appeal to me because it's not "Lived In" like this one is. Love your show. Maybe someday before I die we can have a tiny home like this?

A humble suggestion: Advice the person operating the camera to focus on the item discussed and NOT on the people talking; i.e. while showing the fridge it would be a good idea showing the fridge and not the people talking about it.
@TinyHouseGiantJourney9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we're aware for that tour... We keep the camera on the people to capture the sound, then we go back and capture b-roll shots to fill the blanks (e.g.: the fridge). Unfortunately, both BA and us were on the road and had met just for a little while. We didn't have time to capture all the shots we wanted :(

Good vid, as always, though I would have liked to get a better look at the loft stained-glass window. This house is a bit too small for me, and having the bathroom directly across from the food prep area didn't appeal. Still, she did a good job overall. I'd be interested in knowing how she manages to travel so much. Does she work at home?
@TinyHouseGiantJourney9 жыл бұрын
Yeah Theo, sorry about that. It was one of our most rushed tour as we were both on our way to "somewhere"! We couldn't capture as many b-roll shots as we wish we could have. I'm not exactly sure how she affords her travels. I know she sold her house to build this one

I've only recently discovered your blog, but I am really enjoying playing catch-up on all your videos. This one is, so far, my favorite for so many reasons. (Hello, yoga chair.) You make me really want to get out on the road (and find someone to hi-five out there) but until that time comes, you play a big role in my preparations. You keep me inspired and excited, all while giving so many useful tips and insights. In fact, after watching this (the first time) and hearing you both suggest it, I looked up Habitat for Humanity and turns out there's one right in my town, and I can sign up to help build a house, next summer. I had no idea this was a thing! Or that they've got a program called RV Care-A-Vanners! I am beginning to think this tiny lifestyle may actually be genuinely possible and realistic and freaking amazing. How did you do it, without a you to follow?

palehoney79 I've seen very few. Would like to see more. Those of us with health issues can't climb stairs or ladders.
@thecozyconstellation9 жыл бұрын
1timby yes! i think lofts are so so popular is that they save space... you are essentially doubling your space by putting a bed over the kitchen/bathroom, as it usually happens. but if you build your own tiny house, you can build it to YOUR needs, which is great! and since tiny houses are "illegal" (according to greedy, selfish city codes) they cannot go on a foundation or be a little bigger. for you to have a downstairs bedroom automatically requires more space... which doesn't have to be bad, but maybe more difficult on a trailer model. but not impossible for a park model, or even a tiny foundation house. :)
@BrokeDog9 жыл бұрын
+1timby Keep looking, Timby. I've seen tiny homes with "murphy-beds" in the great room ... and also, tiny homes with a raised kitchen on one end, that creates the space to have a roll-out bed (which usually rolls out into the great room). During the day, it rolls back under the kitchen, leaving a full living/great area. I am also a not-so-healthy person who would LOVE to (some day) get rid of most of my bills and live in one of these on my own little plot of land (yet, still close enough to my doctors, of course)!

Great tour, beautiful home, and I just love BA - seems she's all over the internet, and though I'd never seen her before this video, she seems like a genuine, neat person. That said, I nearly did a 'spit take' when she said it's 6 by 13... and 9,300 pounds. Woah, that sounds heavy! We're hoping to tip the scales at around 3,500. for our 22' Airstream renovation (7 by 19), though she obviously has more vertical space. Look forward to the next tour...

Great video :D love that house Although i found it a bit frustrating at a few points. The two were talking and pointing at things but the camera stayed on them. Wanted to see too. Is tree damage a real problem? Any solutions? Video on that? :D Have a great day u guys. :)
@TinyHouseGiantJourney9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we know KaptainRogers. We've struggled with that. We met with BA for just a few minutes off of the freeway and we couldn't capture as much B-roll as we wish we had. I stay on the people to capture the whole conversation, then we go back and shoot the details to embed them in the video. We didn't have time to do it all for this one. Sorry about that. As for tree damage, if you're careful, it shouldn't be an issue. We've towed ours through thick branches without an issue (that was before the woodstove though). But a low hanging oak branch could take your house out!

Cool house. I live in a Van I sort of do without and sometimes I get a storage unit and I can live in 48 states move around see places. I always say I am as smart as a bird I can move south in the winter and north in the summer. Although freaken Maine was really hot one summer. I was thinking wow ! And Florida was so hot in Nov that I vowed I would never live there in my whole life ! But I have lived in NV, WA which is so great for tiny homes right out in the trees and ferns. And now I live in VA it is where my car broke down so I decided to stop and write a few books. But it is nice to see your place. I think I am a little smarter now having lived in a car but that is not what other people think of me. So I think that I would like to build a little house like yours if I want to get too many possessions I don't need. I like to think like people who build boats also. I know that I have things I can do and places I can go in a house that moves. I started by accident I was a crime victim and I wanted to just move my freaken house..... like get the key and drive away but I thought the police down the street wouldn't know where my house went if I went to the store and someone drove my house away..... so I started touring the US no longer attacked attached to some very strange cities towns or states. I can just leave when I get unhappy and just look at the beautiful scenes outside my windows. Cool job love your show. Looking at more houses Grace Namaste

@TinyHouseGiantJourney9 жыл бұрын
We've struggled with this one. We usually film the interview and then film b-roll to go over the shots (you can see it in our other videos). This particular one, we met BA on the road very quickly and tried to capture as much as we could. We have to keep the camera on the conversation so the microphone captures the sound, then we go back and film the details. Unfortunately, this one was a little more rushed than our typical videos. Also, spinning the camera around a lot makes it disorientating to the viewers. But yes, you are right about this video, it was tough to get all the details shots we wanted.
