I love Tip Tuesdays! I’ve learned so much from you, Denise. Wigs are so expensive nowadays. Some wig manufacturers need to do a better job on their end. IMO, this was a lot of manipulation to make this wig your own. I would not attempt it at this early stage of my wig journey. I can understand doing this if it was a budget-friendly wig, but a wig that cost around $200 shouldn’t have these issues. Maybe adding some lift or trimming bangs, but that’s about it.

It seems like more and more wigs are having similar issues... not sure why.

@@heywigsister I’m hearing the same from other newbies. I know everything has gone up in price, but the manufacturers need to make their wigs worth paying that price. It’s frustrating. Makes me want to just wear a different hat everyday!🤷♀️

One of Denise’s very helpful tips was to try these techniques of plucking, thinning, and shortening on inexpensive Amazon wigs. Also, her videos on great Amazon wigs to buy are excellent!

Wonderful tips, Denise! I've done them myself a time or two. I wish these wig designers would figure out that we don't need such thickness in our wigs at the front! I've noticed that Alexander C's wigs are especially heavy in the front. They look beautiul, but not quite realistic for the average woman.

YES! This is definitely a thing with this brand.

Thanks for great tips! I have a few wigs that would look better with bangs. Can you do a video on how to cut bangs into a similar style to the one you were working with today? Thanks and God bless you...

Thanks so much for this info! I like the wig I purchased (thanks, chemo), but I want to love it. She’s a true face-flopper, but was told no heat on synthetic. Ordered a head form and steamer and can’t wait to tame her!

❤❤❤ thanks, sis, the pinking shears are an awesome idea!! I have struggled with that for a while. Now i need to know how to deal with the super frizzy ends. As a teacher i wear the same wig all year. Its synthetic not heat friendly, any tips?
@DiannainSoCal Жыл бұрын
@saralaughlin9637, you may want to try this on frizzy ends…I have successfully de-frizzed ends on a straight wig using the Hot Tools airbrush. My Alva get frizzed ends and “sprung” fibers, so every 5 wears or so, when it gets a bit hard to comb through, I run my airbrush through it very slowly. It really helps!!

I am a new wig wearer and have just bought the Ellen Wille Elite wig, I have used your tips and they have worked really well, however the back of the wig seems longer than the sides and looks wrong 😢 I have the wig placed correctly on my head , so lost as to what I should do, makes it look really wiggy Can someone please help as it's a lot of money to waste ❤

Hi! Would you be willing to send me some pictures so I can see what you are referring to? My email is heywigsister@gmail.com Just some initial thoughts without being able to see exactly what is going on... How a wig lays on us is impacted greatly by our head size and shape, since they were made rather generically and not to our specific measurements. I have a local wig sister friend whose head and neck and very different from mine. A wig that is bob length just under my chin almost touched her shoulders! You can always trim up the length if the style doesn't seem right to you. If you aren't comfortable doing that, I would call around to some salons and see if you can find a stylist who would be willing to help you with it.
