Its the AR15 of paintball guns hella customizable like an AR an AK aint as uogradable as an AR bro i got an AR just for that reason 🙏
@skytasha3 жыл бұрын
@@flashgraff4285 It's considered the AK because of 3 main reasons, popularity, reliability and combat efficiency. While it is similar to the AR in terms of mods the AR is not a weapon of war like the AK and both the AK and 98 can be thrown in the mud and sand and still keep shooting. It could be fair to call it the M16 of paintball markers but Tippmann also made the unpopular Bravo One and took that away from the 98.

I have 4 of these bad boys. Me and my friends play in the wood cuz it's wayyyy cheaper than going out to Boston Paintball. A used 98 custom that's 10 round tube fed is a pretty afordable way to play.

Ive been out of the sport for about 10ish years and just getting back into it. got me a used one from a local trader page for about $75. was going to go new but a local paintball field said get a used one because even a used 98 will work just as good as a new one lol.

Response Trigger is WAY better, less squirrelly more reliable then the E trigger. Makes it two shots every trigger pull, put a Double trigger on it... You'll fire more paint then you planned. Very inexpensiveness "super gun"

So the paintball field that I go to has Tippmann "Rental" (as in Tippmann FT-12, except it says "Rental" on the side instead of "Tippmann FT-12") guns. From what I saw on the internet, it looks like it's the same thing as a Tippmann FT-12 except cheaper, I guess? Anyway, I was wondering what the advantages of having you're own paintball gun are, and if it's worth getting the 98 instead of renting those guns, which I now rent for free since I have a season pass. One advantage I thought of is that I can put my own stuff on it (tank, hopper, barrel, etc).
@ashravenpb7 жыл бұрын
Owning your own marker (even when its the same as a rental) will give you an advantage because you can clean it properly. Most fields cant fully disassemble every marker and thoroughly clean them every day which is why they are so inaccurate. Plus you can add a good electronic hopper, a carbon fiber hpa tank, and whatever accessories you want.
@TNTxCreations7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the help. Those are definitely advantages that I'll consider.

Two reasons I've always had a hard time with paintball is bad equipment and assholes. In 2002, I bought a shitty Genesis Surge (Spyder clone) that never really worked right; my local field always clipped a spring to make it shoot lower FPS, which I think was part of the problem (I think this happened at least twice). On top of that, everyone seemed to have a bad attitude there (staff and players). I played on and off from maybe 2002-2005. I tried to get back into it last year but realized very few people still play (local field probably had 30-50 players every Saturday back in the day, compared to maybe 10-15 now). Also, I again cheaped out on equipment and got a GOG ENMEY, which I don't think is as good as people say. I've played twice this year, and it's starting to rekindle my interest again, but I'm hesitant to spend more money on good equipment just to see if there's anything left to salvage in this hobby for me. It seems like a money pit.
@kozak17087 жыл бұрын
Fuck the GOG Enmey, the field I work at uses them as rentals and they're a pain in the ass. You just have to find the right place and people to play with and paintball is great

Hey brand new to paintball and know almost nothing about it. I go to fields with my buddies and we just get the rental tipmann guns. It seems the rentals are very inaccurate and takes about 2-3 shots to actually get a feel of the target I want to shoot and even then the shots will go left and right randomly making it hard to aim. If I purchase a 98 will I have the same expirence with the rentals or will it be in better condition and shoot better. All I want is a cheap paintball gun that can shoot accurately
@ashravenpb7 жыл бұрын
they don't shoot straight because the field cant afford to take them apart and thoroughly clean all of them every day. If you clean your marker, use HPA, and use good paint then you will notice a big improvement in accuracy over the rental markers.

@tommytuomaala90877 жыл бұрын
With etha 2 you get Gammacore bolt witch according to many beats the shocker bolt. The new eye system is also something that could become industry standard. Axe PRO is good but Empires markers are wasting air as a woodsball marker. You get more pods out of Eclipse than Empire.

A5
@stuartcarlston6 жыл бұрын
The A5 is the best marker value on the paintball market. The only bad thing is that its heavy, it's an air hog (uses air to run the hopper). As it runs low on air, the cyclone won't cycle but the gun will fire. Also the cyclone feed parts wear out (sigh-lol). I own a dozen. My "back up" is a response trigger with 5 inch barrel, deep drop forward A5 "pocket rocket" (14 inch long A5 "Pistol")

@ricostvac7 жыл бұрын
aa craine you gotta first understand that air is stored in your tank, transferred INTO your gun (into the air transfer tube/pipe) then out of your gun through the bolt. Dwell refers to the length of time air is being transferred from your gun through the bolt

The equivalent, The Tippmann "Gryphon" (lightweight non-customizable 98) blows the Azodin mechanical out of the water. Tippmann SO reliable. At our club (FB: "Highdesertpaintballrocks") the Azodin's are often sidelined. The Gryphon (for some reason) is also wicked accurate (who knew?). I've seen it (as a ref) firsthand and the staff at Action Star Games (ASG) here in CA told me they experienced the same thing. I can't tell you why its accuracy is so much better.

By no stretch of the imagination is a GOG a Tippmann. It's a different cat all together. Read up on GOG reliability. A "starter" Tippmann "Clunker" (long reciprocating bolt) M98/Cronus/Gryphon (wicked accurate) etc is perfect for starting. After a year learning the ropes (game play/tactics) move maybe to something else. But a "sensitive" gun at the beginning of learning about a hobby just adds trouble.
