Once again thank you for showing this level of detail regarding pitching in high winds, which no other tent manufacturer takes the time to do .... All the very best wishes Tom

Excellent & informative proper pitching video. I wish you shown/added big heavy rocks on top of tent stakes to keep them from being pulled out of soft or wet ground. It's something I ALWAYS do when pitching my Enan up in the nearby High Sierra's where strong gusty wind often change direction during the night. Yes, I normally have to pound the pegs into hard soil. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

How much would you tighten the guy lines? I thought they have to be tightened quite a bit. I would be thankful for an advise. Tack så mycket.

Hello Mattes. You just want to tighten them enough, but not too much. Over-tightening the guy lines can actually weaken the structure of the tent. Tunnel tents can be easier to over-tension than a dome or geodesic tent. Below are two timestamp links to our videos that show and talk about that with different tents. Hope that helps. I have some Hillebergs since 10 years. The Saivo, the Kero 4GT, Nallo 2GT and Nallo 4. My family is growing and HB Tents are much better than the other tents. My question, how many wind can a Nallo 4 handle? I use the 10mm Keron 4GT pole in the Nallo 4 for the Front and the original 9mm DAC Pole in the back. We start our first backpacking tour in the swiss alps this year with the new tent. The other Hillebergs are realy stormproof but i dont have experience with the Nallo 4 in highwind/storm conditions. Greetings from switzerland.

Hello buddylaila. It is extremely difficult to give an exact wind speed at which tents will fail or break. So many factors affect that. As mentioned in the above video, how you pitch your tent plays a huge role in how it will perform in strong winds. As well as the type of ground that the pegs are put into, changes in wind direction, geographical features, wind gusts, etc. In the video above, our wind anemometer was reading around 30 m/s or 67 mph, so that gives you some reference for the Nallo in strong winds. But again, that is specific to this situation. There are many tips and tricks that you can do to your tent to help secure it in high winds, such as adding extra pegs at the peg points, tying on additional guy lines, double polling, etc. Our video “Handling your Hilleberg tent in strong winds” goes in-depth with a lot of those different tips and is a great one to learn about before you head out with your tent in storm conditions. Hope that helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZapcqyBgt9mZ5Y

@@HillebergTentmaker Thank you. If i know, that bad weather is coming, i dont go on trips with my kids. A real storm is so loud in a tent, that the kids will not sleep. And perhaps they could be afraid about the strongness from mother nature. But often we have thunderstorms with high winds. I think from year to year the thunderstorms are stronger and more often. I know, even if i use the Hilleberg Saivo it is the best, to find a save place for building up the tent. Is it possible ore usefull to put in the Nallo 4 the 2 original 9mm poles and in the front, a 2nd 10mm pole? The Keron 4GT would be the best for our family but with backpacks we have so many stuff with us, the Nallo 4 is in my opinion the best tent for us.

Arent guy lines meant to be in line with the seams and the poles. By angling them you are straining the seams and the poles as well.
