Tips for Hiking in Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef National Park is one of Utah's "Mighty 5," but it's often considered the most underrated and least visited park of the five. We did some fantastic hiking and can't understand why people wouldn't put this park near the top of their list. Come with us on a few day hikes, and we'll give you tips and pointers based on our experiences.

Capital Reef is my favorite in Utah. There is so much more not mentioned in video like Cathedral Valley. Awesome ! The drive and hikes are breathtaking. You can also drive switchbacks sout and southwest of the park with several more trails. Switchbacks go down into the water pocket fold and even more trails. You could easily be here a week and keep exploring. Not real far from here is Fa tory Butte, Goblin State Park, several more canyon and there is Nasa's Mars station. Little further north and west is St. RAFEAL Swell. To the east is Beautiful Bridges National Monument. Little further east is Canyonlands National Park then Arches. All within 90 minutes of Capital Reef. All so beautiful. Well worth your time!

Yes, all good suggestions. We knew we only scratched the surface on Capitol Reef and really want to get back when we can. We did Goblin Valley, Canyon lands, Arches, the San Rafael Swell and much more while in Utah but can't wait to get back to keep exploring. It was our first trip to Utah and we made the most of it but there is so much to see and do there. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Capitol Reef National Park looks like a great place to hike for die hard hikers, campers, and pie lovers! Where did you park your Airstream Flying Cloud? 🤔

We left the Airstream at our campground where we are hosts. Then we used the van that's our tow vehicle since we've set it up to handle weekend excursions.
