I’m sorry but I don’t like that so many people are now going against cardio. You may not be loosing weight like you want but it is so good for your overall health and your mental health. I agree that strength training is great but if I don’t do cardio, I get super depressed. I have been on antidepressants and cardio works better than those.

Same. I think cardio is great for your cortisol levels too and stress not to mention your heart. My resting heart rate is 45 due to cardio.

You are the minority that love doing it. Most people (myself included) hate doing it. It feels like a punnishment to be fat for most people. If you feel good doing it, you feel energized afterwards, makes you feel good mentally by all means should continue doing it. For most people it stresses the body too much that the cortisol response is harming. It is tiering so causes lack of energy afterwards it feels mentally draining.

I agree cardio been my main workout for years i am now 47 experience on coming changes and it’s what keeps me active I try doing 10 lbs weight now .. I enjoy my simple cardio I do feel it really helps me with this premenopausal thing 😅. Good luck to all of us just embrace accept and adjust feeling emotionally ups and downs but we will be ok. It took me years to be honest n understanding consistency is truly the key to progress even though I don’t want to exercise somedays when I finish I feel so happy to push my self. ❤

Yep, I’m 43, I’ve been doing lots of cardio for years and didn’t lose any weight! I felt bigger 🤬 I was soooo frustrated. I had no idea weight/ strength training was the key! Lost 5lbs in 2 weeks 😲 still trying to get rid of brain fog though and figure out what actually makes me happy! perimenopause sucks 😌

I’m 57 in perimenopause…. Dont recognize my body. Was always slim and in shape. Life stresses and changes are a contributor but I’m hungry a lot. I know how to eat healthy but not being consistent.

I’m in the same boat. I was a long distance runner and I loved it. I didn’t do it for weight loss, I was a very healthy weight but then my body started hurting constantly. Not from injury but these undiagnosable symptoms. Now I know they were hormonal symptoms. I’m 42 now and can’t budge the scale. I gained 15-20 lbs in the past few years and I’ve tried weight training but now I have back issues that flare up so I can’t do the heavy weights. I get so discouraged that I stop caring. But then I start to feel bloated and puffy and know I have to keep trying. I’ve always been in shape but now I’m feeling sluggish and don’t enjoy working out anymore.

Do you consider HRT? Light weights and body weight exercises are still considered strenght training. Try bodyweight squats, push ups, wall push ups or kneeling push ups with core work. Plates, yoga or half hour walk in the sun is still considered exercise. It doesn't have to be intense all the time.

My problem with sleep is not getting to sleep. Its staying asleep. I sometimes get a dry mouth and I find myself always tossing and turning. I have black out curtains, I run a fan and use green noise (and other colors) for a sleep aid (I can't sleep when its dead quiet at all), and I have a very comfortable bed. At least that's what it feels like when I start my sleep. I am going to get my magnesium levels checked to see if there is an issue but I am not sure what else I can try? I can try to read but like I said, I am usually asleep within 20-30 minutes after lying down. My mind just can't stop thinking about things and takes that long to go into sleep mode. This is something I cannot control. When it comes to happiness, there's not much I can control. I have a wonderful husband, good job, great pets, as well as a wonderful son. Everything around me that happens is a factor in weather I am happy or not though. I know not to over exercise. I don't want my body to think its in trouble and hold onto fat. I absolutely need more water for sure. I also try to eat the most natural source of the food I can. I have already checked my thyroid and there's no issue there. I am pretty sure the hormones are doing what they are supposed top do. I was going to do HRT but it scares me to death to become a victim to the side effects it has. The only medications I take (not to include vitamins) is one for high blood pressure and one for high cholesterol. I am at a loss......

Love these tips! I’m 38 and my weight has been a struggle since 35. Not sure if it’s peri menopause or something else but I’m sure these tips will help. Especially the one about cardio. I’ve been doing my peloton bike for two years and it hasn’t helped lose weight. I’m going to try weight training as you suggested.

Great video ❤ How did you know you had blood sugar and thyroid issues? Did you ask your doctor for tests? If so, which ones? I find some doctors hesitate when you ask!

That’s not possible 1lg of muscle is the same as 1kg of fat it’s just muscle is denser hence takes up less space so to speak hope that makes sense :)
