Great tips as always Laurie! I never miss an opportunity to learn something new or review them. I love that tray table cover with pockets but recently I’ve had tables that fold in half so you can’t hang the cover. Now I bring a reusable gallon sized ziplock bag to put my “seat pocket necessities” into. I make sure to include some disinfecting wipes & a pair of disposable gloves so I can wipe it down before replacing it in my personal item bag. Thanks for all you do for us!

Love your videos and watched soooo many before my recent trip from California to Boston...My flight from Boston to SLC had me seated in a bulkhead seat behind First Class...called Comfort +. I was happy that there was a bathroom right across the aisle...NOT!! Did not know that that row had the screens attached to the seats/floor so there was this heavy metal piece that stuck out from the seat to your left that no matter how you tried to sit, it pushed in to your knee area. Then if that bathroom was used 300 times that door SLAMMED 295 times!! No way could we have tried to catch a nap during that flight!! I could barely walk when we arrived in SLC after having sat for 5 hours in a position to avoid that metal piece. I was moving slow when I walked onto the plane from SLC to Oakland and the FA asked if I was OK and explained about the last seat issue. Since the flight to Oakland was not full he asked if I would mind sitting further back in the placd as I could have a row all to myself which I did. I was able to put my carryon under the center seat of the row in front of me so I could be comfortable which made the last part of my trip actually the most comfortable. When deplaining I did thank that FA and give him a Starbuck's gift card. Again thank youbso much for all the info you provide!!!

Oh my word how nice of you!!! Great idea. I did not know that. On standby we usually get the exit row or the one in front which do not recline. Awful!

More travel document management: i.e. prescriptions, travel insurance, flight tickets (can they be folded?), hotel information (reservations), passport copies (how many, give copy to who? store where when you are travelling, other documents - save on phone? print out on paper) Especially for many of us older travellers not so computer savvy? 😘😘😘

Another thing that can help you stay organized is to use a packing cube or pouch as a "junk drawer". Just as every house needs a drawer where you stick those odds and ends that don't fit anywhere else, your suitcase also needs a bag to stick loose odds and ends in. Trust me, it really helps with staying organized when you travel and not ending up with a hotel room that looks like someone snuck a bomb in your suitcase!

That's a great way to think about it.

I don’t understand if we can carryon Vs checked bag a phone battery charger that allow your phone to be charged. When does it go on fire? Thanks
@TravelTipsbyLaurie2 күн бұрын
Hi, batteries that have lithium ion in them can combust. Flight attendants have equipment to extinguish one if it happens to catch on fire midflight. But in the belly of the airplane there are no people to find that one thing that could be on fire.

Great tips! One thing that I would add is that if you are a wheelchair user and are being pushed through the airport by an employee, they will require you to have a paper ticket.
@kenbrown280810 күн бұрын
that is not universal, but I prefer to have both a downloaded E-ticket on my phone AND a printed paper ticket.
@lisatowan453610 күн бұрын
@kenbrown2808 Every time my mom or I have flown and an employee is pushing us through the airport, they have required that we go to the kiosk and print our boarding pass. They refused to take us without it. The person pushing us takes the paper pass from us and only returns it when we arrive at the gate.
@kenbrown28089 күн бұрын
@lisatowan4536 i know when we flew our return leg on Iceland, we just had the e tickets. But like i said, i like the paper, anyway.

if you have mobility issues, you can request assistance when you buy your tickets. it is free, but it is customary to tip the person who assists you. this includes if you can't walk the distance through the terminal without problems.

@blureader11649 күн бұрын
This video was such a great idea. I you do not have a video, please consider making one for people traveling internationally for the first time, or an update because things change so rapidly. For example, Thailand just announced that at 6 major airports, they are going to facial recognition for boarding instead of showing a boarding pass and passport. Some people do not like this idea, so people really need to research the country they wish to visit. I always check a bag, so for people who also want to check luggage, consider buying an AirTag (for apple people) or another brand of tracking device. If the bag gets lost, you will be able to find its location by using your phone/tablet/laptop app. Just don't forget to test it at home first. On my last trip, my airtag showed that it was at home because I did not make sure it was activated, I just threw it into my suitcase.
@TravelTipsbyLaurie9 күн бұрын
Great tips! Since they do change for each country, I do not want to put information out there that could change soon. I will remember to mention that people check this.
@blureader11649 күн бұрын
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie You're right. For international, you have to check each and every trip, even if returning to the same country. You just have a clear way of explaining things.

I know my personal items will have to go into the overhead bin while I’m in bulkhead (rarely my choice), so I bring a lightweight drawstring bag to put the items I’ll absolutely want/need for the flight into, like my sleep mask, AirPods & iPad.
@TravelTipsbyLaurie9 күн бұрын
Hi, you have to have them in the overhead bins until the seatbelt sign turns off. Then you can get your personal item. One travel tip is to have a pouch of travel essentials you need for the first 30 minutes...like a book or phone and airpods.

Make your luggage distinctive in some way. You could Use coloured straps around the case both horizontally and vertically. Use more than one each way, all the same colour. Take a photograph on your mobile. If you always use the same identification method have a couple of prints with your paperwork to give to airport staff to locate missing luggage . Use the same identification method on your carry on, and on your personal bag - shows consistency. Some people stencil their baggage, or use stickers, or knot coloured ribbons round the handles. I've even resorted to making big labels and writing on both sides THIS IS NOT YOURS! . .
