Robbie, I have found your videos this spring. The pot in pot compost system has been a game changer for sure. I have grown things in container with limited results. This year every container was layered with sticks leaves compost and debris. Then planted with flowers or Veggies or both. Most have in place composers some were too small for that. Well, it has been the most successful production ever. Thanks so much.

I started a portable compost container out of my protein powder container. They're small enough to put beside my plants growing in 18 gallon totes. My goodness! One of my scrawny squashes took off and is now bigger than the ones that were much bigger. It works! Thank you for sharing your clever ideas.

I learned that stressed plants grow better, sweeter tomatoes. Water only infrequently when wilting. Lots of water = lots of tomatoes and much less flavour. Thanks for your video 😊

I grow in containers too. Watched you and got the container garden bug.🥰. Using totes, my favorite way, but also buckets, bowls and baskets from dollar store, etc. Sometimes to make my look uniform I place my containers inside of a raised bed with trellises. The moles/voles are not devastating them. You can control the water too, so much better than planting in the ground. Purposeful holes are present in everything. Pot in a pot to fertilize is working ; It is just great. Thank you so much.

I have catnip that grows into bushes at my house. My daughter was always harvesting it for her cats, this year I dug up a plant and gave it to her. A few days later she said the neighborhood cats are killing the plant,so I gave her some tulle. She wrapped it around the plant, it stopped them from eating it but not from rolling on it lol she now has it sitting on her utility box so they can’t get it

Thank you! You're a genius! I appreciate your tulle tip. Last year I used bird netting and was upset to find that a lot of dragon flies got caught in it. This year I'm getting into feeding wild birds and I refuse to use it in my yard. I get stuck in that stuff myself so good riddance. Today I saw a Cardinal eating a horn worm off my tomatoes and it gave me so much joy! I made some "worm traps" and also set up a container deck garden inspired by you. You're the best! Growing up my parents always had huge gardens...2 field size gardens in Ohio...lots of fruit & nut trees too. I had to always work in garden weeding, picking beans, etc. Then came Canning time. But I must say we all sure loved eating that food out of the garden. They continued to garden until both died at 90 & 94 respectively. When I bought my own home I built a small raised garden to make my own salsa. I sold that home in 2008 and had not gardened since...until the virus! Where I now live I was able to carve out a small area in the flower bed for some veggies. I'm too old now to be able to do large scale. I found your videos and really enjoy your no fuss way of gardening. And I have learned so much about small container gardening from you in the short time I've watched your videos....but still have more to learn obviously. I have been particularly interested in trellis systems since i have such a small space and need stuff to grow up....instead of sideways. Thank you so much for sharing.

I cut out the Nightshade family which is tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and eggplant. My tendonitis and bursitis went away > Prevention Magazine had an article about the NIghtshade family and joint disease years ago. I cut out the Nightshade family during the course of following a Macrobiotic diet. Before that I had to ice my legs several times a day to stop the pain of tendonitis.

Hello from Australia. ❤🇦🇺😁👋 I've just stumbled onto your great channel & subbed. I've been gardening for years but the last 5 years I only grow edibles. Have planted various fruit trees & now need to get serious on my veggie growing & some fun colorful crockery garden decorations. I've decided buckets, containers, hung pipes, bits of guttering, old wheelbarrows whatever I've got lying around or can pick up free or dirt cheap, will be my best options for herbs & veggies. Pretty much exactly what you're doing. How fantastic! I've already got lots of herbs going, spinach galore, lettuce, garlic & ginger. Next to grow will be carrots, potatoes, sugar snap peas, beans, zucchini, a variety of tomatoes & various pumpkins. I bought a heap of heirloom seeds online a while ago. Very excited to start these up according to weather time frames. I love gardening. It's head space zone out & relax, or it's busy busy work out stuff as well as wonderful to eat healthy yummy stuff you've grown yourself with no nasty chemicals. I save all sorts of videos for my subscribers to watch, so I thought some would love to see what you do. How anyone can grow some or all of their own food no matter where & how you live. It's so vitally important these days. God bless you dear lady for your amazing contribution of positive energy into this sad, decaying, evil world around us. We so need more people like yourself. Be happy, stay safe. 💕❤💙💛💚🕊👱‍♀️😊👋 I also love your enthusiasm, happy friendliness & the obvious joy you get from your gorgeous little hummingbirds. I don't see them where I live in South Australia. Maybe the weather is too variable? But there are other Ozzie birds around.

While I have a lot of bushes and trees in my yard, I often will go out into the alley or neighboring alleys under trees and bushes and I find great soil under them where leaves, bugs and plants have died and built the soil. In my own yard, I stack cuttings around the base of trees and bushes as well as weeds that I pull or cut. If I pull back some of it I can find good soil as well. It takes a year or two I found for things to really break down, but if you make areas where all your clippings, grass, leaves, etc. go, you make your own soil, and if you put them around your plants, you are accomplishing two things at once - feeding the plant and making good compost. It kills me to spend money on dirt, even good dirt. I am near the beach in Florida, and our "soil" is sand. Certain trees do well here, and bushes. But gardens are a whole different matter. That is why I am doing containers now.

Even though we have 10 acres, I am starting to do more container gardening. When I fill one up with kitchen scraps, I have to start another.

Have been watching your videos. Have a couple hummers here in MI. Going to make a container for lettuce and radishes. We have a large garden.

How do you provide water drainage in your buckets. I love how you have elevated the containers. We live in Northern California where temperature is much different. I am so inspired with your creative options with the 1/2inch tubing. Thank you

I have three tote and chair raised beds started and I'm so excited about it. I bought 15 plastic chairs for a family reunion about 25 years ago, I only use a couple of them, now they will be useful. Thank you so much for all of your ideas. I have some totes that are clear(ish), can I use those for growing? Should I paint them?

I’m using totes also. What do you do with your lids? Really enjoy your videos.
