Nice vid mate. When doing drywall I often give the paper a quick dampening with a garden spray bottle or sometimes dunk it in a bucket of water and squeeze out excess with finger before setting it in and glazing over, seems to come up pretty good, although have to pre cut the tape beforehand a bit oversize.... Picked up a tip from one of your vids you put up a while ago of a guy using a toilet brush to put mud on internal corners, tried it out yesterday waaaaay quicker! awesome stuff mate.

Get a really fine grit sandpaper, like 220 grit or an even higher at the end after sanding off the bulk of what you’re trying to remove. The higher # grit sandpaper, the smoother the finish. Hope this tip wasn’t too late 😁

Is it critical to use tape in the corners with the ceiling or even the walls? Seems like caulking would do a nice job if the sheetrock is tight. I am tempted to just use caulking on a small remodel job in my house. What do you think? so...tape and mud, sand, mud, tape, mud to finish, caulk corners. Let dry. Prime. paint. Done.

Shouldn't the space where the ceiling meets the wall be done first?
@Kalikovision7
@Kalikovision7 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if yes or no, but I've heard one person say (on similar case) that it helps to have a flat surface at those factory edges. So if they didn't do those ceiling ones first, then they would have a divot when doing the ceiling corner to deal with. But now it will be flat because the factory edges were filled in. Not sure if that's the logic for it, but just a thought. Hopefully makes sense

Paper tape on stress joints (drywall on ceiling or walls) will dry out and is prone to cracking. There is little to no movement in wood structures where walls meet ceilings and that is why it is used in those locations and because it is firm...but should ALWAYS be soaked in water after cut to length...and apllied on top of the compound.
