I just don't like how restrictive it is. I don't want to limit myself to the best few trucks in the game and use noting else. I enjoy owning every truck, having varity, scouting and doing checkpoint missions with scouts even though you'd be much better off using a truck. I'd get bored if fuel and money forced me to find the best truck in any given region and just stick to it and never use anything else. But hey if it's fun for you, more power to you. BTW, how's Professor Farnsworth these days? (Sorry lol, I just could not pass up the opportunity)

@@NProvince But in hard mode if your not efficient with your spending, I heard you can get to a point where you can run out of funds and be forced to restart the game. So is using less capable vehicles really even a viable option in hard mode?
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
So the term “less capable” vehicle is subjective based on what you think is capable. To me I believe I can make it work and have with great success with what the game has given me. There are more Hardmode players who have used lesser vehicles and thrived. It’s based on what your comfort level is. Ya you can run outta funds, but you can still be very efficient and effective without having to reach for overpowered trucks early in the game. That’s my opinion, but all my numbers are in the video and I was using highway trucks and what was found and yet I still had abundance of resources to help build through Alaska

You can transfer fuel from region to region via fuel tank frame addon. You have to keep it equiped on your vehicle because if you un equip it, it will drain out.

--- Additional Tips --- •You can use mission fuel trailers for free fuel down to 10% of their capacity. •Place any found fuel trailers (Black River) in the town centre besides for the massive one at the fuel station up the hill (3200 litres). This works well for logistics and planning. •Unlock the extra fuel roof rack for the Chevy Scout as soon as possible. •Use the Scout 800 roof rack at level 6 as a backup scout with extra fuel capacity. •Always buy the autonomous winch for the primary scout vehicle. It's expensive but will pay for itself if you happen to flip a scout even once. •Find the P16 on Drummond Island as fast as possible. It's full of fuel and in perfect condition. This truck is an animal and will make the likes of the White Western Star recovery and long missions like Oil Rig construction a doddle due to its raw power. Extra Tip; If trailers are being awkward and you find it impossible to reverse them neatly, especially the single axle ones, you can pull up alongside them and attach your winch to park them properly.

Personally, hardmode doesn't offer me any extra enjoyment but as far as guides go, this were some excellent tips. Gonna check out some of your other videos and oh, you have a new subscriber. :D Oh , and I have a question. You didn't happen to keep track of how much fuel you actually used and how much the cost of that fuel would have been?
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Thank you so much!! Hardmode isnt for everyone. As I said in the video, I was a huge skeptic until i tried it. True, I did not keep track of what was used, but to do that We would just subtract total fuel gained, by the fuel taken to Alaska. Also it would be rather difficult to calculate money cost on fuel because each gas stations prices are different and they increase on every map usually. That part I did decide to leave out. I do know that most money in this game is consumed through transit (fuel burn); so my strategy was to mitigate money lost from fuel and keep that to purchase trucks and have a good stash of funds when my fuel supply runs out. Eventually I believe I will have to buy fuel, but so far I haven't through the first 3 maps of the game and still have extra fuel stashed in Alaska that I just didnt have room to take. I hope that kinda answered your question. Sorry I know it was longwinded.

Well the Phoenix was already a good truck, I'd put it top 2 or 3 in offroad class for sure, and even pretty high on the overall ranking list. But if they made it even better, then I won't complain. Maybe they put heavier tires on the Force so it doesn't wheelie so easily with a truck on the hook? But yea out of the two the Force was the weak one for sure, so it's good it's been buffed.

Hey man just got a question, Is it worth selling some of the trucks you find in hard mode or is it better keeping them as they are so expensive to buy?
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
Very good question. Personally I will sell a truck on two conditions in hardmode. 1) Lack of Utility. I sold the Twinsteer because well I wanna my fleet of trucks to be able to do most tasks if I need. 2) If you need money and know you will not buy it later. Before I dove in, I planned on what trucks I know would work with my game plan. You can keep the trucks around just in case you need money later, then you can sell a vehicle that you just don’t use at all. It’s really situation dependent and also it’s up to your preference. I hope that helps :)

A pro tip is to not sell a truck unless u absolutly need the money now or u are gonna spend that money right away to buy another truck. The reson for this is as u find upgrades to trucks, u cant sell them unless u have a truck that can use it. So should u sell all trucks u find right away even through u know u are not gonna use it u will end up with alot of upgrades that u simply cant sell.

Hi,, by 10% fuel on mission related carriers,, do you mean you can ONLY siphon 10% before turning them in or do you have to leave atleast 10% of fuel inside the carrier? Thanks and happy trucking!
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
Good Question. Yes, I probably briefly mentined this on the video, but I shoulda hammered this one home a lil more with additional detail. When you find a mission trailer that is part of a task or a contract, you may siphon 90% leaving at least 10% in the tank before turning it in. The game will not accept anything below 10% on missions. I usually try and leave a little more than 10% just to ensure mission success. Also those values for 10% are listed on the video as well if you'd like to reference those. I hope this helps sir. :)

You missed a fuel trailer in Black River. Let's see how can I describe this. OK so you know the drilling site, you know you need to build that wooden bridge that is there? Well just a little ways down past the turn after building the bridge (if you are crossing from the drilling site side), there is a fuel carrier trailer as well. Not mission related, all free fuel. Actually when your doing that contest (time trailer) to bring consumables to the drilling site, the route you take should bring you right past that trailer.

You talk about transfering 4.5 loads of fuel to Alaska. It cost 3500 for each deployment, you end up paying 7000 for 2000litres, how does this make financial sense? (I'm DanDozen btw)
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
Thats a good point. So heres my thought process. I would rather take as much fuel with me, rather than paying for fuel on every map. Each map the prices varies right, so if I have fuel banked, Im not going to pay a higher price for it. Some people will transfer their tanker trucks to michigan just to fill them up because its cheaper in later parts of the game to stay away from paying 6-8$ a gallon apposed to 2$ (ish). For me my 4.5 (1800L / 476 Gal) fuel trucks stay retained until I need them to be deployed on my current map. So right now in Alaska I only have 1 out but I probably wont need to deploy them until Taymyr because free fuel is scarce. In summary it boils down to. Do I wanna spend more money deploy/ redeploy to areas where fuel cost is low to fill up and then bring them back to my current area. Or... Have trucks banked with fuel or fuel trailers at a garage location on another map to deploy to siphon and then deploy back. Essentially I'm trying to save money on not paying for fuel as long as I can. Sorry thats very longwinded, but I wish I could just explain it over voice (which is always easier)
@danthebat666
@danthebat666 2 жыл бұрын

@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
In the video I explained it, but what you do is bring All fuel sources (trailers) to your garage. Equip trucks that you can designate as fuel truck with the fuel carrier addon then siphon all the fuel you can onto that fuel truck. Put it in your garage and retain it. Then once you bring it to Alaska, when you deploy it, it will have the fuel that you brought from Michigan. Alaska has a lot of free fuel as well.
@stuntmanbillytv

@@NProvince I see what you're saying, but isn't it more expensive to move the vehicle back and forth than it is to just refill it in the new territory???
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t moved any vehicles back to the previous area I’ve finished. I just completed Kola Peninsula today and I still haven’t paid for any fuel. The only region I just didn’t have enough vehicles to move all the fuel to the next map was Alaska moving to Taymyr. Also take into account that Gas gets more expensive as you progress in the game. The prices change region to region, map to map. I will go back to Alaska and finish taking free fuel because the Yukon hardly has any fuel to offer at all, same with Wisconsin.
