This is the most 5 brain video on printing I have ever watched. Never thought to weigh spools or label files with time or material use. Thanks for the tips!

Frank thank you for this video. I think may folks get wrapped around the axel trying to do a bunch of mods and configuration changes and this causes so many points of failure that require hours of probing to repair. I like your method of keep it simple and "Know your printer". Thanks for helping me to get back to basics.

Such a great vid. I never knew that humidity can make a big difference. I’ve only been 3D printing since December but I did notice once it started to get warmer and more humid, my prints have been a bit iffy.

PETG, I use alot of it and I always have to dry it out before using a new roll just to be safe (and sometimes dry again halway through the roll). PLA is fine, no problems there, but PETG loves to absorb the moisture in my experience, I know I need to redry it when my prints start under extruding and are just overall ugly.

I have a question for future reference about cleaning the nozzle of a 3D printer, if bits of melted plastic on the outside of the nozzle start to interfere with extrusion, what is the best practice for cleaning that residue off of the nozzle?
@_sniffer_80362 жыл бұрын
Heat up the nozzle, then use an alcohol wipe or damp towel to wipe it. After that use a wire brush, knife, or needle to remove melted plastic. Hope this helps 🙂
@sonofposeidon73592 жыл бұрын
Yes sir
@DoctorEviloply2 жыл бұрын
If the residue is on the outside I heat the nozzel and then scrape off the residue with plyers. Then I use the nozzel cleaning needles included with my printer to get right in the nozzle and clean that out. Sometimes I unscrew the bowden tube and use the opposite end of the needle to clean out the hot end.

I mean: a whole video just about that would be a little much. It measures the bed in 16 points and creates a “terrain map”. So even if the bed is flat it may have microscopic dips and high points. As the print heat moves, the printer moves the Z axis up and down ever so slightly to compensate for that high/low difference. Imagine running your finger over a grassy hill but you never push INTO the grass. You only feel it on your finger tips the whole time.

Loved the video! Quick question though, have you had any issues with the Sovol Sv03s? I got one sometime last year after you mentioned them and its had nothing but issues. Bent Z rods, broken thermistors, ripped hot bed cable, BLTouch not working, and just overall pretty poor print quality. Support also takes a long time as replacement parts come from overseas. I wish i wouldve saved a little longer and gotten a CR10 tbh. I have learned a lot from constantly fixing it though so, silver lining
