It can be a blessing and a curse, depending on how you look at it! I’m quite mechanically/engineering inclined (thanks Papaw) and, for the most part, my husband loves it! Buttttt, when he’s worked really hard on something and then I come behind him and say, “do you think it might be easier/better if we changed it to this way?,” and it is, indeed, easier/better to change it, it definitely frustrates him that he didn’t see what I saw to begin with! 😂😂😂

#Thanks Hanks: Your fifth wheel has a lot of garage space available for storage. Rv manufactures have been making slide out storage compartments that slide out from an RV garage. Maybe you could look at either making two half drawer slide outs for your RV garage on each side, or one long slide out that runs the length of the garage, or double slide outs, because the garage is deep enough to accommodate this. Here is a link to an RVer who made a slide out for his 18BH. Growing up I spent my life going out on boats, whether it was on the Puget Sound or on a ferry. In my opinion, the ocean can be a vicious witch from hell that is extremely unforgiving. The ocean has unexpected storms with gale force winds that come out of nowhere and come up fast. More than one schooner has sunk to the bottom of the ocean, during a freak storm. Safety is paramount for me, especially when I'm hundreds of miles from medical help and supplies, floating on an ocean for weeks with no land in site. The pirates of the Carribean don't make the situation any better for mariners. Yes, I'm not joking, because there are pirates of the Carribean sailing the waters today and looting passing by schooners the way that they did hundreds of years ago. Except in modern speed boats with engines designed to outrun schooners, without an established military force to repel the pirates with. Often law enforcement in a port of call, in a foreign country will look the other way and nothing happens to the pirates for their raiding ways. I would tend to look at taking a cruise with a reputable cruise company to the Caribbean from Florida and back.-Happy Trails kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZOsc3usncqqntksi=hOF-jbIbMphDhntQ

I have a 24ft pontoon boat, me and my wife enjoy it in the summer. It actually has a refrigerator, a sink, and 15 gallon of fresh water capacity. Also in one corner of the rear it has a pop-up changing area with a portable toilet that holds 5gal of water to flush it. Only hassle is you have to carry it to a dump station to empty it. I just bought a small camper! It's a 2011 viewfinder. Can't wait for summer, we will probably see you all out there somewhere. Party on Hanks!

If you have a large solar/battery bank or even a medium size, get rid of the gas/ electric refrigerator. Get a french door 12vdc compressor refrigerator. Great for boon docking full hookup, and it works great in cold and humidity, and stays on when you're driving, because it uses battery only without and inventor.

The common household foil USED to be made out of Tin, pre-WWII. During WWII, due to rations and shortages of many materials (Tin), companies came up with aluminum foil. "Tin Foil" has, then to now, become a misnomer / generic term for foil, kinda like "Band-Aid". Who do you know that says; "I need an adhesive bandage." . . . Currently realizing I'm responding to two ER Nurses who quite possible say "Adhesive Bandage" so commonly like a Nave Nuke Tech would ask for a glass of H2Oand think nothing odd of the wording. 🤔

My husband and I “retired” and sold everything, except our car and Retro RV, and have been living in Mexico for the past 9 months. We’ll be heading back home in June to pick up our car and trailer and heading out to RV for the summer! Also, I grew up on a sailboat (from age 7 until the 8th grade). Loved it! Love to sail! We had two dogs and a cat. The cat did fine except when she would wonder off to sleep on other boats while we were tired up to do laundry and buy groceries. Not fun when you’ve set sail and can’t find the cat! I look forward following more of the Hank adventures! Take care and have fun!

The only problem we have had with our rv refrigerator is it completely died at just about 6 months old. One day my wife mentioned a funny smell in the fridge and when I checked I knew right away it was DEAD. If you smell ammonia there is no repair it needs replacement. **Edit** The further you move the thermistor to the top on the fin, the cooler the refrigerator should become. The further down you move the thermistor on the fin, the warmer the refrigerator should become. Sometimes it helps to use a clothespin or paper clamp to keep the thermistor in place. Also check that the opposite end of the thermistor wire that goes down into the back of the fridge hasn't pulled out.

Hey guys! We’re having a lot of fun watching your videos from the beginning. We love our RV! I saw Kyle lugging that heavy bottle of laundry detergent around. I switched to laundry detergent sheets about a year ago, they’re so much smaller for the RV. I’ll never go back to the big bottle! I use one sheet for normal loads and 2 sheets if it’s a really gross or really big load :). I use Kind laundry detergent sheets from Amazon.

That Bucket Boss may find itself in my shopping cart. That looks like a great system. No more mixed metric mixed with SAE, Everything in its own spot.... May need two of them 👍 Very cool Chess set too. Stay YOU.

Hey guys! It's been a bit since I've commented. I'm still watching when I can. We're in the beginning stage of a house remodel so between that and running my business things are crazy! Kyle...keep the dad jokes coming! Renee...keep trying to keep Carl in line. When your in the northland, you can you should put on your list to visit the most northern part of the lower 48. Northwest angle in MN. That's the little chimney on top of MN. While your there, stop by and say hello. We're 40 miles west of there. :) Keep on with what your doing. Your doing great! As always: Paul & Patti

Great vids! On your travels in the south, we would recommend Cloudland Canyon in NW Georgia. On costal South Carolina, Hunting Island State Park is great. Coast North Carolina, the outer banks just south of Kitty Hawk. Just outside Charleston SC, James Island City Park is really close to town and is a great campground.

I have some inner tubes. We can float the river in them. Don’t knock it until you try it. It’s a right of passage here in Idahome

Lifelong advice, as much as you can stuff into a regular grocery plastic bag is what will fit into a regular single washing machine, that is how I have always separated my laundry when having to go to a laundromat.

Thank you for the fridge info, I'm going to see if that will help my house fridge. I love watching ya'lls videos. They bring fun to my day to listen to Carl and NeyNey talk about each other and who is in charge. We already k on after laundry day as to who is in charge 🙃 😅 😐. Keep bringing the fun.

If y’all are headed up north, y’all need to stop in Wildwood New Jersey. I recommend Holly Shores campground. Wildwood has the beach, boardwalk, great restaurants, and awesome rides.

Two 1"X1" boards with a shelf should do the trick. Cover the shelf with some auto carpet (grey) do dress it up and put a tote or something on top. Sliders from Amazon are pretty inexpensive if you want it to move.
