That V2 simulation was really accurate. Looked just like that ww2 footage in London minus the explosion at the end. All jokes aside that really does suck after all that hard work and money.

What speeds does these hit? Since some of them almost seem to hit the speed of sound, they don't due to no bang but it cant be that far off?

Many of them far exceed the speed of sound, but you rarely hear any sort of mach transition with rockets.

You only hear a sonic boom if it passes over you.

@@hoghogwild Only if the rocket is launched right on top of you but from the side the soundwave will absolutely pass to you. But I guess the sound from the motor is so high that it can't really be heard and since the rockets are kinda small the bang is also much smaller then from fex a jet.

@@dtiydr Its not the sound of the motor that makes the sonic boom, its from the shockwaves eminating from the body of the rocket. The shock produced while the vehicle is supersonic doesnt pass over a ground based reference point. Now shoot that rocket sideways so that it passes the ground reference at supersonic speeds and you will hear the sonic boom. Think of the shock as waves from a boat on a smooth lake.

Dude. What. Like I'm sure there are some calculations on this, but I'm pretty sure that your pets' farts will cause more pollution than these rockets. This is a hobby, just like allot of sports this hobby does release CO2 in the air, but the amount is so tiny.
