Titan Fitness Multi-Grip Barbell VS Rogue MG-24

This is an in depth review of the Titan Fitness Angled Multi-Grip Barbell verses the Rogue MG-24 Barbell.
I start from the unboxing of the Titan Fitness multi-grip barbell so you guys can see how it arrived to me. I then give some first impressions, talk about my previous weeks workouts using the barbell, then go into a breakdown with cost, measurements and weight when comparing the two (almost identical) barbells so you can make the right choice for you!
I will say this barbell is extremely versatile as it allows for a multitude of grip variations when doing bench press, hammer curls and skull crushers.

I recently joined a gym. Never seen anything like it. The bar at the gym is huge. Looks like a grill from a hummer. Can't wait to try it. Its chest day today.

Haha! Using this bar for chest or even dumbells verses a straight bar puts a lot less stress on your shoulders as your triceps take on a bit more. Good luck at the new gym Larry 💪🏻

Thanks! I actually have a gym membership as well, but do use it in the summer. We have a fan which helps but you do sweat your butt off! Makes for a good workout 💪🏻

When you do your skullcrushers, orient your feet inside the rack so you’re pulling the barbell from in front when you take it off the rack. That way you won’t smack the bar into the rack posts.

YES definitely! Great feedback! The multi-grip bar is certainly different from your standard barbell so adjusting is necessary on some movements.

I see you have the PR4000 which I also have. I measured the interior width of my rack and it is 41inches this is approximately the interior width of the barbell. You don't have any clearance issues while racking?

Hi Michael! Just measured my rack and I got 41 1/4” and then my Titan bar is 40 2/16”. Would I like the bar to be an inch smaller giving me more clearance, yes! But it does fit/work. For the price of the bar I’m cool with it. Hopefully that helps

@@dreweekly7135 Why such a tight fit, why don't they make them where you'd get at least a 2" clearance on each side? The inside width of my rack is 41.5", that gives me 11/16" clearance on each side, I'd be beating up the bar and my rack, that sucks!

@@sheldonport4218 I agree and you’d think they would have fixed it, but guess for a cheap bar is what it is. Possibly a more expensive brand would be better.

What is the girth of this multigrips ? 28mm or more? For shorter fingers will be ok? Thx

The grip diameter is 32mm. Seems like it would fit most hands 💪🏻

@@adibest26 my Rogue Ohio power bar is 28.5mm and it’s perfect! I definitely prefer that diameter for my main bar. If I were you, I’d go with the 28mm you’re talking about. If you have smaller hands you will be able to get a much better grip on a 28mm

Drew, great review. How do you feel the fit is on your rack though? I think your rack is a Rep Fitness rack which generally is a bit narrower and I'm seeing lots of complaints online about trying to rack this thing. What's your experience with it?

It’s a little tight racking it, but I feel like that’s more on the Titan fitness bar over the Rep rack. The Titan fitness could give more racking room, but for the price it doesn’t bother me

I’m just careful when racking it so I don’t nail my rack. Just different from racking a normal barbell. You also are not stacking as much weight on this type of bar so it’s easy to rack slowly. I hope that helps

The bar may not actually be compatible with all bumper plates. Titan has a disclaimer on the multi grip link…I also saw another review where his bumper plates didn’t fit his Titan bar. Good review 👍🏻

Thank you. As long as they are standard Olympic size you should be good. I’d imagine all main brands would fit. I wonder where they got their plates that didn’t fit.

@@dreweekly7135 I can’t recall, but Titan now has a disclaimer because of a discrepancy with bumper plates. I’m ordering my bar this afternoon, very good price and it looks solid.

I bought the swiss bar from titan, i like the angle of the handles but i like the multiple handles of your bar

I have this bar and I'm pretty sure it's not powder coated, and is just rattle can paint. Some titan fitness stuff is actually powder coating. This bar isn't one of them. That paint also makes the knurl very passive. This bar feels much better when used with chalk.

great review! I just purchased the bar from Titan. Could believe the savings with free shipping and lower price. My gym is 99%rogue, but couldn't justify buying the rogue one

I feel yeah on that! Rogue is great, but comes with a hefty price tag. The Titan bar is too good of a price not add to a collection.

That's because Titan rips off Rogue's designs and outsources them to a sweatshop in China. Always interesting to see big American flags in home gyms and then a bunch of intellectual property theft products in the foreground.
