I own a frontier pro4X 2014, I drive that thing from Guadalajara(MX) to Houston at least twice a year. That translates into 17-19 hours of non-stop driving. Ballsy engine, responsive and accurate transmission shifts, the truck performs excellent, no issues whatsoever. Both front seats are super comfortable, the back seat is not my cup of tea but we take 3-hour turns and nobody complains (I'm 5'9 tall), yes the mpg is not the best but I knew that before buying it.
@boogitybear22834 жыл бұрын
If it ain’t broke, don’t replace it! It boggles my mind that people own your exact same truck and will go trade it in for something stupid because it has “too many miles”. 100k to me is like 10k miles.
@270eman Жыл бұрын
@@boogitybear2283 Yeah I love mine. 2017 Frontier SV 4x4 king cab. I put some mud tires on it and it does amazing offroad. Its a little rough on pavement from the tires but smooth as butter on gravel and rips through mud. Never got stuck and the sv doesn't even have a locker. 4hi traction control off is excellent. Went up a really steep/long incline in 4lo and it just crawled up it no problem locked in 1st gear.

2500 miles in 5 days in Oct 2019 with my10yr old son. Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Put In Bay Ohio, Niagara Falls then back to Atlanta. My 18 Fronty P4X was fantastic. MPG hovered around 18-19. Cloth seats, Bilsteins and XM made for a very comfortable ride even in Downtown Chicago. Not a single issue. The Frontier even excelled at riding the Put In Bay ferry! One month ago i took it through the N. Ga Forest Service rds including Charlies Creek Rd with some great water crossings and moderate 4x4 obstacles. The Fronties rear locker is GOLD! Ive owned 2 Frontiers and my current P4X is just outstanding. I love driving it.

I added some mud tires to my SV with no locker and its hasn't been stopped by anything yet. I have gone through some sketchy stuff 🤣 Crossing my fingers for the oil pan since I don't even have a lift or any underbody protection. Been excellent.

it all depends on intended use, if you need to tow or haul heavy payloads then you have to fork out the cash for the titan but at that point consider ford or dodge with a diesel. Frontiers are more versatile daily drivers or offroaders as you can find lots of parts and do titan swaps.
@270eman Жыл бұрын
For offroading the frontier wins IMO. Less weight and fits in a lot of areas the titan won't. I took my frontier down a narrow dirt road the other day that no full size would have squeezed through. Yeah midsize is never gonna be good for long drives for a guy that is 6'5" 🤣 I am 5'11'' and its not to bad for me. The frontier is smoother offroad than onroad it seems. Feels like its gliding on gravel roads.

Tinkering Thomas I agree on the room. I’m 6’1” as well and my legs are not comfy for long distance I wish the seat moved back just a little more and I’d be okay. Got a dilemma here. I need a mid-size truck, but there's no 2019 Frontier's left to buy. New experimental transmission on the 2020 Frontiers, but the Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger have KNOWN transmission problems, and the Tacomas are rare and expensive during Covid19. I also find the Frontiers more comfortable than fords or toyotas. The DI engines are unfortunate, but it seems every truck is going that way because of the MPG. Or should I just get a Dodge Journey?
@HiPlains14 жыл бұрын
By a used frontier. Like you say they don't make them like that anymore and never will. Love my 19 p4x. Looks exactly like the one in video.
@CommanderCronus4 жыл бұрын
@@HiPlains1 My previous vehicle was a 04 2wd frontier. Very easy to get into. I just discovered the newer models are 4 inches higher, and for me that's an accessibility problem. I am gonna have to go with a Honda ridgeline.
@HiPlains14 жыл бұрын
@@CommanderCronus That's because the ridgeline is a car with a box (unibody). Not very capable off-road but if your usage is on streets you should be OK. It has good payload specs but can't tow worth a crap. Very pricey. On average they cost 7k more then most mid size trucks (base). Nicely equipped will run over 40k.
