Yeah no way spyro would physically been able to pull cynder free and I have a lot of evidence for it. If you want I can explain my arguments with you. And yes I argue malefor would have won realistically in that situation. And technically I joke around that he technically does 🤣 I know edgy 😂

When the Legend series came out, I was like a kid in a candy store! I always wanted Spyro to be badass and be a powerful dragon. I loved shooting fireballs at apes, flying, and going through the darker storyline. I am hyped for Glyde the Dragon.

Can we not forget that the developer of the first-two Legend of Spyro games (Krome Studios) are the same developer who made TY the Tasmanian Tiger series, when in the first game's commercial from 2002, where Spyro, Crash, and Sonic are in the hospital due to getting hit by Ty's boomerangs. And this was meant to be a big deal at the time. Oh the irony. 😂

It’s always nice to hear other peoples perspectives on TLoS and Crash of the titans. I loved these games when I was growing up, even if with the flaws and edginess to them. For me personally, if TLoS and crash of the titans didn’t exist, I probably wouldn’t be talking about crash and Spyro today.

This era spawned my first KZbin video, an outlet for a 12 year old's disappointment and rage at Activision. I was happy to be part of the 'fan film' group of people back then. What we called the 'dark ages' of Crash Bandicoot gave us nothing in the way of new content, so myself and many other people tried their best to provide light entertainment. Some drew cartoons, other did cutscene mash-ups, and I used stop motion. I made many good friends in that era, including Outcast Bandicoot creator Teira Nova, and Crash Out creator, Sir Isaac. I really miss the early 2000s, an era of freedom of expression. Nothing was deemed 'cringe' or trolled too heavily, it was just thrown out there.

I grew up a Nintendo kid and only got exposed to Spyro through seeing a friend play Ripto's Rage at their house. The first games I managed to get my hands on were the LoS games in late elementary/early middle school. I was obsessed with them, but recognized that they were extremely different to the game I'd seen at my friend's house. Got more into retro gaming in high school and managed to buy the original three games and Hero's Tail. Nowadays I definitely prefer the original trilogy in every way, but LoS has such a nostalgic place in my heart. Definitely wouldn't be as hardcore of a Spyro fan as I am without LoS. 💜

If there is one thing I regret so much about (besides not being able to submit a voice clip for this video at time) is not having been part of Legend and Titans' online era. I speak spanish and my interest for Spyro was big, but only I, between family and "friends" in school, talked about Spyro. To think that on the internet were a lot of people who also loved The Legend of Spyro was splendid. I actually didn't interact with the fandom until years later because of my limited english and online restrictions. But at least, the now is better in comparison. Still I really wished I could be part of those old forums and just say how much I loved Spyro. Now, it's no doubt that the 2000's were weird in general, specially for videogames as the "dark, edgy and cool" were the trending for a long time and everyone wanted to be part of it. And I think Crash and Spyro's jump to the trend was risky, flawed, but unique and necessary. I was starting to enjoy deep/complex stories and epic tales of fantasy, and The Legend of Spyro was everything I wished for. I also enjoyed Titans, and even if they were so different from the trilogy and short after, it was an experience I cherish. What really got me even more interested with The Legend of Spyro were the fanfics and fanarts (and Spyro and Cynder obviously, like just look at them they're súper fighting dragons! And they look GREAT together! Basically my first ship), and short after the fanfilms and fangames (which is truly disheartening that every owas abandoned/frozen). I really hope one day we can get them at its finest and be an enjoyable experience. About Crash, well, I was a Crash fan since a kid, but once I met Spyro my likes shifted completely. I still enjoy Crash but Spyro was, is and will be the most entertaining for me. So yeah, that era was the weirdest, but also awesome and helped them both to stay alive. The Legend of Spyro wasn't the brightest trilogy or the most innovating, but has it's charm and proved it had great potential. And I'm really glad and touched that many people still enjoy it to this day, despite it's flaws and decisions the trilogy earned their hearts. Amazing video! This was such a marvelous and also funny cringe-inducing journey to everyone who grew up in this era. It was very informative to know a lot about Spyro and Crash's impact from the fans both in the past and the present, either be good or bad. (I even can't understand how they came with CynderXSparx for a forum topic lol) This also made me realize how long it has been since that era ended, but still their presence in the fandom remains both strong and forward. It truly showed that fandoms can create amazing things and stay true to them. It's quite poetic and in-Spyring. Again, awesome video! A reminder that no matter how weird it gets, its history that lives deep down in our hearts.

I do remember also catching a glimpse of a Crash of the Titans commercial back in the day, as well as seeing a Mind Over Mutant commercial from 2008-early 2009. The latter year being when I got MOM. It wouldn't be until 2013 when I finally CoTT and I had a blast with it! 17:41 oh god, I saw my art XD. But yeah, growing up I was more a Crash fan having played a few levels of the Ps1 games thanks to some friends of mine. In terms of crash games I actually owned myself it was mostly gba games and game cube games (I grew up with Nintendo). When I did get CotTitans and MMutant I throughly enjoyed them. They had great presentation and I found them just entertaining enough. My first Spyro game was "The Eternal Night" thanks to Wendy's having a toy tie in XD. I saw commercials for A New Beginning as well. But yeah. I didn't play any classic Spyro games till years later through Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail. Didn't play the insomniac games till Reignited. Back in 2000s if I wanted to play a collectathon I would just play one of the Mario games or something. It was because LoS was more focused on the story and action that drew me too them . I wish they could've been fleshed out more with the lore and characters and it would be cool to have them get the Reignited treatment with the cut content put back in. LoS wasn't perfect but they really did Influence me quite a bit. I always thought the Classic Spyro games were too... Silly and directionless... No hate on them. They just weren't my thing and I am glad I finally got to experience them through the Reignited Trilogy. With Crash, it was a series that was always there for me. I never really hated it, even when the games got mediocre or bad. I liked it, tis all I can say :3

¡Argentina Spyro fan here! I am more of a Spyro fan that Crash one growing up, (Ionly play I think one of the fist game ones in a scouts companion of mine when I was going to Guias). Despite having my childhood been two of the first three games of Classic Spyro, Spyro the dragon and Year of the dragon. I Grew fond of and LOVE Legend of Spyro. I think it a combinación for not have been in touch whit Spyro expet those 2 games, my brother taking those games to were he go living, So a 13 years old me diving for the fist time on the internet to find there were more Spyo games, the legend begin the fist to pop up sinse it was 2008.... it really made me curious about this like all new games and info to enjoy!!, I clearly remember seen all the cutscenes of the three games in the firts computer we have or replaing in in laptop I borrow of my mother work as a public teacher even in the get ready of the day of my Quinceanera's party ! I remember beging really exited and amaze by the new look, story, charaters, and more important to my Dragon hiperfixacion, well ¡dragons! . Note I did't knowed about Hero's tail so I did´t know about Flame and ember, so Ignitus, Cynder, Volteer, Cyril , Terrador, the Cronicle and Malefor were really a exiting surprise for me! At fist it was a lot to take in, but that only fuell my need to see it more and know it, and becuse of the community and fanbase, in youtube, devianart, Spyro lair, dark Spyro and the much little Spanish Spyro community, whit the forum beging Spyro paradise and the now still working but death Spyroparadise II. my love for this games and Spyro grew on me as I even draw, Write my own fanfic and post online my own produccions even if I was a bit quiet to say, I was more of a wach and learn type and enyoing it quietly. I really remember going to the fan clubs (particulary the Ignitus one), going to Spyro lair and playing the mini games and creating my own dragon- I don have any of them sadly, they were no other players online so I remember mostly been by myself jajaj must be the time thing. also I remember reading Shanlonesk comic whit made me do a Devinarart account and start posting my art online! making new friend and even finding love in the community!. I also remember the shipping war and the tediud and annoying SpyroxCynder shippers, sadly it make me ruing my liking for Cynder for a long while during my mass hiperfixacion for the Legend of spyro teenage me era- and also only thinking Ember was a jealous toxic character that only purpose was beging a love interest for Spyro the shipping wars whit Cynder, that make not care about here much...boy i got a copy of hero's tail and boy the fanbase make her look BAD and exaggerate a lot he love for spyro aspect... she is cute and even you can play as HER! Much like a lot Cynder and Ember now x3 as all the male characters.

Funny enough, there's some PSN avatars based on the reboots that are the focus of this video, and they've been there since the launch of Playstation Network and are still available to use for free. They are Crash from Crash of the Titans, Coco from Crash: Mind over Mutant, and Spyro from The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. While there are more up-to-date PSN avatars of Crash and Spyro, they can only be obtained as digital pre-order bonuses and can not be purchased. As of right now, there are no official Gamerpics based on Crash or Spyro on Xbox Live, even from the reboot era on Xbox 360.

I remember playing Titans and Mutants as my first 2 Crash Games, and I have been told that Spyro was my first ever game along with being told that I played the Legend series but that must've been back when my little kid brain was not fully developed to have memory. Overall, I definitely prefer the wealth of content that the two sequels provided, even if I did take some time to like some of the random, irreverent, and spontaneous humor that Crash brought to the table, and honestly? Nowadays I would much rather a series be itself without any shame rather than it having to sand itself down to not be inoffensive or "too big for kids to understand" *Cough Cough* Nintendo characters *Cough Cough*. So, I actually have a lot of respect for both reboots and all of the various experiments and I would not mind being given a chance to be on a team to restore a lot of these projects up a bit or be given patched, glitch-less versions of the games at least. Of course, do I dislike the return to forms that the franchises have been given? A little bit, yeah, but if I were to admit to having had more than a little bit I would be burned at the stake so I will just say that honestly? Maybe this is a better thing than a bad thing because the new game creators for the return to forms could give us newer and newer things to innovate into the core systems that these characters came from. 8:55 You're honestly a great voice actress with some other characters I forgot the names of, but if you were to remind me I know I can remember.

I know how you feel about those games. When I was a teenager I enjoyed Titans. Thought it was loads of fun because I'm a huge fan of Crash. And I love Coco's character designs in both games, love how she was wearing jeans, headband, goggles and a midriff. But I stopped playing those games because they don't add up the same storyline as Twinsanity, the wrath of Cortex, and Tag team racing. I never really cared for those 2000's Spyro games though. They look kind of complicated to play. And the legend of Spyro games doesn't have my favorite gameplay, beautiful worlds, and fun loving characters like the ones you see in the original trilogy. So I understand those other games weren't as fun as we thought, and doesn't add up to the storylines we grew up with. I love Crash and Spyro, and I'm glad they've returned with remakes and brand new sequels. I sure hope we see more of the same Crash and Spyro we still know and love today.

This was PEAK Spyro for me. Loved that we got to have an actual story in these games with a flowing narrative. No shade to the classic games, but they do tend to veer too far into being nonsensical at times for my own personal tastes (though I will say that the Reignited designs did improve my enjoyment of the OG era, but Legends is still my fave)

This made me feel a little nostalgic haha. Regarding Crash, I remember discovering the franchise through the PS1 games in the same year that Of The Titans came out and I still remember how shocking it was when I played that with all those changes as a newcomer at the time, It was very bizarre to see all those redesigns plus I didn't know where the hell Crunch and Nina came from lmao. Despite everything, I have a certain affection for both games Titans and Mutant, they were not masterpieces but they contributed to my growing passion at that time for this franchise, also helped by the internet. Which by the way, I also used to visit Crash Mania a lot mainly because of the collectibles that users used to contribute and extra info about the characters.

It's important to mention that Mario never strayed too far away from the formula. The series stayed true throughout. No drastic changes. Just Mario, his platforms, and the game's gimmicks. And he managed to last as long until today. Sonic, while not as spotty, still does very well. As for my thoughts, while I'm alien to the Legend of Spyro series, the Titans era of Crash I thought I enjoy a lot before I realized the backlash looking it up online. And to me, it's understandable considering how drastic of changes they are. And in hindsight, the Titans era could use a lot of work. In fact, Super Mario Odyssey perfected the formula around a decade later. But yeah, late 2000s and early 2010s Crash and Spyro were rough. While Spyro's face would be used for Skylanders, Crash just... crashed. And while I get we don't need every series to get consistent releases, at the very least show some respect to the IPs. Not just hold them at a tight grasp while thinking the fans don't matter.
@greatsageclok-roo9013
@greatsageclok-roo9013 4 ай бұрын
Well, when the fans do nothing but mostly complain... It gives the IP holders the impression that the fans don't *care.* And when you think the fans don't care, you don't release anything for the fans that do care, which in turn makes them think that the company thinks that the fans don't matter. Rinse and repeat. It's like an ouroboros of spite, this problem.

I remember when these games came out. I consider the crash of the titans and mind over mutant guilty pleasures (although mutant was my least favorite because of the backtracking) Now as for the legend of Spyro games, I’ve always thought they were weird to me. It was an interesting idea to give Spyro some lore and a bit of depth. We also joked about how it’s basically Spyro meets lord of the rings. But the tone of these games through me off. It was like going from Discworld to Return of the king. Which is probably why these games have such a mix reputation. At least they give us, Cynder. Besides, if you want something like the legend of Spyro games, I recommend checking out the book series, Wings of fire.

Gosh, seeing everything you mentioned about the forum communities back in the day fills me with joy, and a tinge of sadness, as I can't help but contemplate what I missed out on. Back then, I didn't know any Crash/Spyro fans, and for whatever reasons, just never found those corners on the internet. Makes me wish I could go back in time and experience it all! Twitter and it's toxicity was sadly not the best place for me to meet the online communities. ^^; But this vid for me is a great reminder that there is indeed a positive sincere energy thriving for all things Crash/Spyro out there, and that there is definitely a place for us weirdos who found such joy in such colorful platformers and everything they represent!

Honestly during that era of Spyro and Crash I moved on from the series, stuck with other dope Platforming series that I got into more as both Crash and Spyro were going for their new direction like Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper being some examples also licensed game fodder not to mention I was getting into playing "Mature" rated games when the HD era had a disturbing lack of dope 3D Platformers so I could find something to play, made me appreciate what I had till it was gone. It was all the more special when both the OG PlayStation mascots made their huge comeback that no one expected but welcomed with open arms, not to mention being widely successful due to the drought of both franchises demanding a comeback for way longer than any IP should've been waiting for.

I was a big fan of her work back in the day and she was a pretty nice person as well as I've interacted with her numerous times. I totally forgot about Outcast Bandicoot though, she's long moved away from Crunch and has focused her attention to Ace Hardlight from Ratchet Deadlocked as I'm sure you probably know lol. This makes me want to ask if you remember another DeviantART artist who was a fairly popular Crash Bandicoot fan artist back in the 2000s who went by the name LionessB? Oh wow this certainly does take me back 😂 I admit, I do cringe a lot at my old Outcast Bandicoot stuff, but it's to be expected. Over the years I did try to sweep it under the rug somewhat but there's no use trying to run and hide from it XD interesting fact, I started working on the movie in 2005 and officially canceled it around early 2009. it was too much work for a solo animator and it was ruining my hands (wrist and finger pains were bad back then). And I no longer liked the story & character portrayals of mine... I did write that fanfic when I was 13-14 years old after-all, so it was bound to be bad haha. I did have ideas to perhaps reboot it under a new name, but not as a movie. Just as a comic or something, but I wasn't able to get motivated to work more with that. Especially nowadays with me being into Ratchet & Clank... Sadly it was around 2009 where I lost a lot of interest in the Crash series and moved into Ratchet & Clank (then Dragonball, then back to Ratchet again lol) and it's partially to do with the whole Titans direction back in the day. Admittedly, I'm still not a fan of that direction Crash went in, but I don't mind that it's part of the history and it does indeed, have its own part of the fandom 🙂 and it's so long ago now that it's no big deal heheh. I'm just glad to see that the Crash series is alive and well again after all these years! N-Sane Trilogy helped a lot, as well as the amazing Nitro Fueled and Crash Bandicoot 4! (I love those 2 games a lot). I still occasionally draw Crash fanart too! Obviously nowhere near as much as in the 2003-2009's, but Crash will always be a big and important part of my life 😻Crash Twinsanity will always be a favourite of mine and my hubby's (it's how we met!) Either way it's fun to see some throwbacks to those crazy days in the fandom, interesting video to look back to. Great stuff!

Despite how “interesting” the Legend of Spyro Trilogy and Crash Titans Duo-logy were, I’ll still prefer those over Spyro Orange and Crash Purple

I still find the loss of that 16:53 PS1 style Spyro4 a serious gut punch, on the levels of losing Skylanders Academy. (Knowing the later entails not getting to see a canonical version of Spyro's family and who knows what else.) It was basically the loss of those two and the unnecessary changes present in Reignited (Like suction cup arrows in Charmed Ridge.) that left me salty about those remakes till recently when I sat down to play them, myself just happy a new generation gets to play these classic games. Still, not only was this in the classic style the idea of going back to older levels finding them in a sorta decayed state does personally pull nostalgic heart-strings in a way I wish Shadow Legacy was. Also him about to fight Medusa and or other mythological figures. That's a Really Cool idea! You think maybe the supposed Spyro 4 should include Classical Mythology as its core concept. Yeah, I know 'Spyro4: Realm of the Gods' wasn't real but I think it sounds like that'd have a ton of potential. We know that Percy Jackson is popular, so why not do Greek myths like what the fan-game almost did? I could just picture Spyro minding his own business, when he over-hears the Dragon Elders talking about Greek Gods and their realms. While listening Spyro catches them bring up god called Apollo a supposed lord of light witch a dragon deems 'Overrated' the reason being is cause he 'Flayed a Satyr alive after winning a music contest! Triggered Spyro would've had images of Elora meeting said fate in his head, so he sets off to take down whom he rashly concludes 'The New Ghasty Gnorc!' I do picture the boss fight happening, but I actually think Spyro would wind up recognizing parts of himself (But mostly Hunter) in Apollo realizing from him that there's a worse emeny he should be fighting. Apollo's half brother the God of Wine/Madness Dionysus; A guy who's whos like Dr. Shemp crossed with The Sorceress! I could also picture Hestia acting like a sort of Elora figure, and with this later goddess being magic affiliated perhaps Hecate would be like Bianca! Just a cool concept to think about I would think. (As a Spyro X Cynder lover I'm so relieved to know those two aren't supposed to be Siblings. My version of Spyro is already traumatized enough!)

I would imagine that had Skylanders Academy continued, Spyro would no longer be a major focus and would never appear in the show again, aside from indirect passing mentions by his friends and foes. It would've continued to focus on the newcomer Cynder and the Core Skylander Team as they continue to battle against the Doom Raiders while Kaos remains arrested. Perhaps Malefor could've become the overarching villain like Strykore was while the Academy gets some new recruits, being Skylanders that previously didn't appear in the show at all. Oh, well. Activision wanted away from Skylanders so they could focus on Classic Spyro, and Skylanders Academy ending after only 3 seasons was one of many decisions made to make it happen.

@@X2011racer I wouldn't say Spyro would never show up again. I think its more likely if they were focusing on the main group he'd appear towards end of season and they'd have a episode or two dedicated to his adventure out in the dragon-realms were he was heading. I do agree with Malefor becoming the new big threat though. As far as we know that dragon wouldn't sit down while his daughter is rebelling with a bunch of 'goodie-goodies' knowing full-well he's going to want her back. As for Kaos, there is no way this guy is going to stay in prison! He's going to want to confront Eon about him being his True Dad, wanting possible pay-back for being lied to, not knowing he's dead and gone off as a spirit guiding Spyro in a place he can't reach but, will try to anyway. Still...they haven't done much as of yet with Classic Spyro, so I'm reeling from the sheer lack of non-Crash related Spyro content. At with Skylanders we were getting new Spyro story's!

Hey i been included...and didn't sound as bad as i think i do...thanks:D It was trully wild times Even now days i can tell i preffer tlos over reignited...just because it suppose to be reboot, it is reboot so new take on beloved characters is wolcom But also i ain't fan of artstyle reignited took...and what stops me before playing ogs anyways It's funny but at one point i been confused...what type of friends they are or they are friends or broother and sister...plans they orginally had on them trully explains many things about it and unintentionally makes them trully wholesome pals...and this is why this "Romance" Dosen't fell so much out of place Let's be happy we had down of the dragon at all...Confusing times with eventually happy ending If shutting down fan projects can be concidered as such but hey...ley's let it go...it was long time in slightly confusing times in gaming...before videogames burning down to reborn Now i'm bit more optimistic and curious about spyro 4 cause hey...This are times where many what if projects pops up...minecraft, tf2 amdso much more Battletoads as well i guess...we will see

I'm just gonna say it. The only reason why the Legend of Spyro and Crash Titans games are getting more positive attention and even praise is because of the people who played those games when they were little kids . In other word,s people who were born at say 1998 to about 2006 (the gen-z crowd) and it's not really surprising because the same thing as happened with a game like Sonic 2005 where you have gen z feeling nostalgia for that game because they played it as little kids and didn't notice or were bothered by the horrible game design. So it's all just a pattern really and we were gonna see something like this as we reached the 2020s. Anyway as someone who was a teenager when these games came out as someone born in '91, I absolutely remember how polarizing these games were for a lot of the fans who grew up with the original trilogy of these games. This isn't to say that there weren't some millennials who liked these games but overwhelmingly it was agreed that these games had nothing on the originals and many of us wanted them to return to form. Speaking for myself, I only played Spyro A New Beginning and didn't even bother with the other 2 after not really enjoying the debut game. I could've forgave the combat focus (even if it was very repetitive) but I just could not jibe with the new aesthetic that the Spyro series was going for. Spyro was known for it's cartoony and colorful style and to see it changed to something much darker and "serious'" (for lack of better word), it just didn't feel like I was playing a Spyro game. I'll be honest in saying though that like you, I actually liked Cynder as well. I loved her design but I'm bias because uh hello, a shadow-gothic themed dragon who's actually turns out to be good in the end? I ate that up along with you as a fellow darkling myself lol. And I would've loved to see them try to have her be in the classic games for sure. Anyway with the Crash Titans games, II actually did play both Titans games as they came out. The character redesigns were mostly terrible in my opinion whereas the only ones I thought were fine were Dr Cortex and Nina because they more or less still looked like their original designs but just slightly taller (and older in Nina's case). The humor was awkward and forced and it just felt like a step down from Twinsanity's comedic writing. The aesthetic of the games also felt jarring and just overall, they didn't feel like Crash Bandicoot games, it really just felt like the game was supposed to be about the titans and they randomly just stuck Crash in it to make the games sell. I'll admit though that I remember being initially intrigued by Crash of the Titans since it had been a good while since we got a new Crash Bandicoot adventure console game since Twinsanity in 2004 and I went into Crash of the Titans blind because I don't remember seeing any ads for it and just randomly saw it in my local Gamestop lol. But when I eventually completed the game, I remember 15 year old me feeling nothing. No joy and no annoyance, I just felt bored and underwhelmed by the whole experience. And this carried over into Mind Over Mutant. When it came to the fandom, I'm boring because I didn't really interact with them much in those days. I was on DeviantART but none of my close online friends at the time were really into Crash or Spyro and were more into Ratchet & Clank and especially Jak & Daxer so I mostly just geeked out over those game franchises during the 2000s. I wasn't fully aware of just how panned these rebooted Spyro and Crash games were until I found more journals on DeviantART talking about the games and how much they didn't like them. I've gotta say that that listening to you and your guests reflecting on what the forum culture was like back in those days, it makes me wish I participated in them because they sounded so fun to participate in haha.

It was the exact opposite for me. I grew up with The Legend of Spyro as a kid and assumed that the franchise had always been an epic fantasy fighting game with unlockable powers that you can gain as you progress further through the story. I liked Cynder's arc and how snarky Sparx was (What can I say? I liked Kuzco, and David Spade delivered). So, I was a bit shocked to discover that the original series was a lot more cartoony and less rooted in realism. In fact, I've never played the original titles. Only the Reignited ones. So, I literally had no idea who Elora, Bianca, Hunter, Zoé, Sgt. Byrd, Sheila, Bentley or even Agent 9 were until much later on. Heck, I knew Ripto, Ember and Flame before I ever discovered who the heck Moneybags was. I enjoyed the remastered titles though. The flight sections were annoying and I hated running through Treetops. But the games were still fun. I had a better time with them than the N. Sane Trilogy (everytime I'd boot up a level to complete it without losing a life, or trying to get a platinum relic, I'd always end up feeling drained afterwards). Needless to say, I've always preferred Spyro over Crash. But I still like the latter's games too. I've just always had a fascination in dragons.
