Jimmy Snuka did my card show in the East Bay Area in the '70s and was signed to do only a 2 hour appearance. It went so well and Jimmy had so much fun that he stayed the whole 8 hours and signed 100s of free autographs, took all kinds of pictures, and taught all the kids how to get in and out holds. Simply the best ever.

My grandmother was a teacher at a special needs school in Anoka, MN. When I was about 10 years old there was a family emergency and I was dropped off with my grandmother at her school. I was playing with this little girl name Jade, out of nowhere I heard the unmistakable voice of Jesse Ventura. I had no idea Jade was his daughter. I had so many signed cards (bdays, xmas, etc) quite the collection, then I joined the Air Force and when I got back from being overseas I learned my mom sold my entire collection, including my signed copy of Predator which Jesse got several cast members to sign it for me.

We used to go to watch wrestling at the Seattle center close to the Needle, and I was still in grade school then. With twenty dollars we could pay to go in have ring side seats, and buy souvenirs. My aunt and uncle would have drinks with some of the wrestlers, some of them were real characters. Even seen some real ally fights, after the matches, hence , the creation of ally matches. Yeah, it’s hard to watch now days , wrestling is lost from its former self. I call it soap opera’s with tights. I’ll watch AEW , and smaller venues to have a little more authentic feel to the sport.

Jimmy sounds like a giving guy unlike Hogan, HBK & other top guys. Outside of what he did in his private life, Snuka seems like a great guy and would be proud to know that Tamina is a champion RIGHT NOW.

Jesse said once you do a job on tv back then you were casted aside, maybe h Hulk and maybe HBK we securing their spot and career. And it worked out for the, they’re one of the greats,

Except Rick Martel has stated that Hogan helped him get a house while in the WWF and helped him get jobs. Hogan also didn't murder someone. Randy Savage was also a very giving guy. Try doing research sometimes.

@@CatsClaw44 That's good but Hogan has also stopped most performers from getting over his spot. I also said outside of Snuka's private spot. Maybe you should learn to read, son.

I LOVE listening to Jesse, the man is smart and can talk. The body was no wrestler by any stretch, BUT on the mic he was pure GOLD! Vince was smart for bringing Jesse in as a commentator once Jesse's wrestling career died down.

Jesse wasn't a great wrestler but he knew how to work a crowd and get plenty heat. Jesse was a master of ring psychology.

From what I understand, his wrestling stopped because of a dangerous medical condition. He was then shifted into the talking roles because he was too valuable at it to let go.

@@stevenbetassa7329 Don Owen the promoter in Portland Pd the talent well but was so cheap he used the same tape to tape all shows for ever, so there are no taped Portland wresting shows but what people taped at home on the VHS, Buddy Rose taped a butch and after he died someone got the tapes and are transferring over to current tapes.

Professional wrestling of the '70s and '80s era is choreographed theatrical performance/ Of course you don't want real fighting b/c then it's dreadfully dull, brutal senseless violence of combatants sacrificing their health to survive as long as possible as competitors/

When my life was forever changed by entering the wonderful, enchanted world of pro wrestling, it was The Body and McMahon doing the commentating. Wow they were good, forming the template of one heel siding and one by the book commentator. I don't think anyone perfectly done it and perfected it like Heenan and Monsoon. Haha, Ventura talking, how he talks, you can maybe say it's an accent...."Snoooka.". Hahah
