I just got 4 of the Plus 3's. I had them road force balanced and the highest tire was a 3 lbs. So much quieter and smoother than the factory Michelin's.

Have Michelin Latitude Tour HP on our Lexus RX350. And these have fallen way off in handling and have added lotsa road noise in just 30k miles. So after doing tons of research I decided to look for Scorpion AS Plus 3. Unfortunately, 235/55x19 are nowhere to be had in Canada. Now I find out that Pirelli does not warranty V rated (or higher) tires if they have been repaired. The dealers say they will not/can not repair and reinstall them if they are punctured, for instance. And will thus offer no road hazard guarantee. This would mean I'd have to replace all 4 tires if one goes bad due to a simple road hazard. And that can be pretty expensive if I get a puncture at say 5k and it cannot be repaired due to Pirelli's restrictive policy. A Real Deal Breaker 🤨 Now going to continue my search and Michelin Defender LTX M/S looks good ..but way more moolah...

@@scott5055 I had Michelin Defenders on my 16 explorer sport and just got a set of Perelli Scorpions AS plus 3s on and I'm happy with them. The Michelins had some rowdy road noise at the end of their life so they let you know when its time, but they make driving feel confident in any situation. Also keep them inflated properly because they eat the tread if under inflated so bad it voids warranty

I have always ended up buying Michelins, when the decision time comes I reach out for Michelin all the time. So I want to make a decision of buying Pirelli's but I am a little scared to because I don't want to be disappointed. Since I have an SH-AWD Acura MDX which came with Continental Contact Pro Sport (Only maintains its performance at about 20k and then deteriorates quickly, the handling becomes lose and bumps become harsh) I am not sure about Pirelli AS Plus 3 sport type driveability. CrossClimate 2 for My MDX or Pirelli AS Plus 3?
@afjalhossain29113 жыл бұрын
Bought these for my MDX 2015 AWD and been driving for last couple of days. I will do a review after driving 1K miles to allow these tires to break in. Coming out from Micheline Defender LTX. I can tell that I lost crisp handling by a little bit but these aren't nearly as harsh on small bumps.

@@afjalhossain2911 Any notable difference in wet handling? About to have these put on my wife’s Nissan Armada next weekend. I have the Michelin Defenders on my Frontier and I was a little surprised that traction is more easily affected by standing water than I had hoped.
@mohosafful3 жыл бұрын
@@Just_A_BeGUNner Pirelli Scorpion AS3 has softer sidewall compared to Michellin Defender LTX, so for large vehicles like Armada, you can expect softer & comfortable ride but you will miss sporty handling and on center feel of the steering initially. But tire behavior change with threadwear over long time. And it is too early to draw final conclusion just yet. I haven’t driven in rain or wet condition yet to tell how does it fares. But I would expect only top notch grip Pirellis are known for.

I recently purchased the Scorpion AS Plus 3 for my 2016 Mazda CX5. I have less than 1,000 miles on them so I can only offer preliminary comments. These tires make my CX5 a blast to drive. My Mazda is easy to drive and I am very comfortable on highway ramps. They are remarkably quiet on smooth road surfaces. I felt very confident driving in a recent heavy rain storm. On the plus side I wanted a sporty ride that wasn't too harsh. The Scorpion AS Plus 3 delivers in this regard. On the downside, these tires are sporty and taut, and I think they communicate more road imperfections into the cabin than some of the reviews would have lead me to expect. So, it just depends what you want. A sporty tire or more grand touring tire. I was torn between this tire and Michelin Defender T+H but went with the Scorpion for the sporty ride characteristics. BTW, at the risk of being a little negative, this interview was completely pointless. The questions and answers were so generic that I didn't learn anything new. Very disappointing.
@Jon-nz3dm3 жыл бұрын
Stick with the Michelin if you're concerned about tread life performance. Other tires can compete when new but when they start to get worn down Michelin really holds onto the performance more than others. This is why they are worth paying a bit more for, as you can run them longer without worrying about grip. Just my opinion, but there is data that backs up the longevity point of view.
