We have had this happen to us a couple of times with our GM trucks, there is a resister that burns up and causes the low speed fan settings not to work, check with Deere and see if they use the same system, truck took an hour to fix, unplug and plug in new resister plate. Good Luck

I'm hoping it's something similar and a easy fix, things happen. Glad it's not the compressor or something major.

Was just watching the news and it looks like Sally is just making landfall. Lots of rain. Were you live, ac is needed. How many hours do you have on the tractor? I love my grease gun. I grease my loader just about every time I use the tractor because the grease gun makes it easy. I added a lock-n-lube fitting to the gun.

Yes ac is a must, I have around 400 hours on the tractor. I went to order a lock n lube but they were sold out. I'll definitely be adding that in the future. Take care

Hey Kelley - wondering how long Flail mower blades last for you - sounds like you mow a lot and about 20 acres. I am trying to decide between a Flail mower and a Finish mower - I like the versatility of the Flail mower - Hammer blades and Y blades - but afraid that the labor and cost will be much more than the finish mower - kind of depends on how long those blades last and the cost to replace - do you use hammer blades or Y blades -- I like the hammer blades but also wish they made them with a finishing " L" or upside down "T" finishing blade instead of the "Y" shape - which sounds like is leaves a little ridge between the "Y". Look forward to your feedback - hard to find much on how long the blades last -- hope you can answer or do a video on the subject. -- Thanks - Jay

Have had the same blades on for several years! Only replaced a few when hitting large or hard objects like rocks. I mostly mow brush with the flail now, so I usually only sharpen them once a year. If mowing nothing but grass and wanting it to look "finished", you'll sharpen more often. I recommend a finish mower in that situation. Honestly for a do all mower, the flail is hard to beat and doesn't require much maintenance. I mow thick heavy material and grass, that puts a load on my belts and I replace them once a year. So in conclusion If mowing nothing but grass and wanting a clean cut, go finish mower. Wanting one mower or jack of all trades, get the flail. And yes when mowing low with Y blades, you will get small strip for a couple days until the grass grows. I kind of like the way it looks. I absolutely recommend Y blades over hammers, hammers are not designed for grass. I tried duck foot blades once, excellent for grass and provided good lift. They do put an extra load on the tractor, they are also not great for brush and requires more sharpening. Stick with the Y blades. Hope that helps!

Couldn’t figure out how to reply to your comment but what drone do you use. I’m looking at getting one so I can make better videos for my KZbin channel

You might try waxing your tractor. I know it seems dumb but it will take some of the fading away. The roof is kind of faded from just using the tractor. Oh and the roof it should just be two bolts up front and it hinges at the back like the older tractors.

I don't wash the roof, that's why it looks faded 🙄. It's stored under a barn and only in the sun when working, my last John deere was 13 years old and still looked pretty good. But yeah, she definitely needs a bath. Taking the roof off doesn't concern me as much as I read horror stories about the seal tearing or not sealing back up. Any experience with the seals?

The Kelley's Country Life I go work with my neighbor and he’s got 2 John Deere 4430’s 2 4240’s and a 4040 and there old so we pop the roof of them every once in a while and close them up and we never have any leaks in the cab.

I know John Deere makes good equipment but it’s hard for me to believe that tractor doesn’t have an option to circulate air from inside the cab through the AC. It’s always pulling air from outside. Hopefully this repair doesn’t cost you too much.
@TKCL

Dumb move on their part, it only has a small foam filter inside to recirculate. No button or diverter to go 100 percent inside for clean and cold air. As far as the repair goes, I might attempt it this weekend if I can find the time.
