I wonder why is this info not in the right help section. It's one of my biggest criticisms with ACC, the setup help section is mostly useless.

Hi Aris, these details are what makes the difference between a sim and ACC. Thank you for the good explanation. This sim is the most complete one and becomes more and more to my favorite game.

I’m new to ACC and this video is really helpful and makes it more accessible. I wish more games / sims had video series like these that explain details so well.

Well done Aris. I recently did a mixed class race in GT4 Ginetta my online race in that category and for the 90mins only one mandatory pitstop was allowed no fuel or tires were compulsory so i decided to push the limits by double stinting the tires and pit for fuel only. It worked and because pit stop only cost around 9secs i finished on the podium. Checking the tirewear after i saw it was 1.2. I did feel the difference in handling so i adjusted my brake points as on ps4 the car oversteers easily at this point. Overall you also need to be more progressive on aceleration when double stinting tires to prolong life. I tried the pedal to metal strategy using the Audi R8 GT4 and that 30secs pitstop is a huge pain.

Dr. prof. Aris strikes again. You and the Team did such an amazing job on ACC, except the grephic optimization because its really GPU heavy and there might be room for iomprovement. But its such a perfect game in termns of physics, fun and all the detail you brought into it. And i really enjoy watching your streams and your videos. Best in depth explanations you can get out here in youtube land

Amazing, as always. I don’t think I’ve ever taken a tyre below 2mm really. I’m gonna try one set for the whole of FP1 and FP2 tonight in GT4 at Brands, to see what’ll happen :)

Awesome video Aris, and I’m guessing with a hot track and aggressive driving that will reduce the tyre life even more.

I feel that worse thing to happen to tyres is graining, when I overdrive them or when track is very cold.
@layingblacklines
@layingblacklines 3 жыл бұрын
I think sometimes it would be good to see the tyre surface visually in the garage. Rather than grain and blister it would also be good to see any actual graining/tearing of the tyre. Probably would make no difference to the game though, just be matching real life a little more.

Great video Aris! I have a question: Is the weight of the tyre also simulated , does the unsprung weight of the car also go down as tyre wears out and loses material?

Really good insight into the tires. Question. I know we're not able to check wear in the car other than the white/black dots. But is there scope for team mates to see it during driver swap races?

very interesting @aris. Question though: you state puncture and even exploding of the tire is modelled in ACC after more than 2 stints of 1 hour. Is there a way to have that happen without investing more than 2 hours of racing before that? Funny as it may sound, I would like to see the behaviour and visuals of a puncture or worse.
@xaviier
@xaviier 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, just drive a few laps without ABS and TC, the tire will explode in agressive braking

What about the numbers of the GT4s? Since they burn less fuel normally, stints could be bigger fuel wise, but does this applies to the Tyres as well?

Hi Aris! After an hour race at Monza my tyrewear is like this FL 2,43 2,47 2,52 FR 2,71 2,68 2,65 RL 2,19 2,25 2,34 RR 2,55 2,43 2,38. more wear outside. Is this normal or I need more Camber? Thank you!

Is it the flex that generates heat in friction? I'm pretty sure that various plastics have lower coefficient of friction and that's why there's less heat when you rub your finger on the mouse. A match doesn't flex when you light it up, yet it generates enough heat to start a fire because of the high coefficient of friction.
@bbman85
@bbman85 3 жыл бұрын
Don't forget, there is friction in both adhesion and cohesion. Even a spring gets warmer when it's working hard, but being metal and with quite a bit of surface area it also loses its heat very fast. A better example would be a squash ball, which can get noticably hotter during play as it compresses and springs back constantly - and that's with only momentary forces acting on it.

Man it’s like they make this game for hardcore fans.. they should find a happy medium.. or at least an option to make it so. I just sat here and raced for over an hour only to have my front left tire explode literally as soon as I exit the pit. On my last pit stop…. It’s beyond frustrating

In practice I do the same laptimes with a full tank or 10l, for me fuel load makes no difference to laptime.
