@kashphlinktu 20 сағат бұрын
My math says 3500 calories per pound times 141 pounds = 493,500 calories. Divide that by 30 days and you get 16,450 extra calories per day beyond what her metabolism requires. Basal metabolic rate at that weight is 5000 calories per day, so she’s probably eating something like 21,450 calories per day. That’s 7 large cheese pizzas or 51 liters of soda. So, a lot.

Wow, I don't usually get emotional, but her brutal honesty and being upfront about how she didn't know who she was without food, nearly made me cry. This is an addiction. Whether it's drugs, food, social media, etc. we're all craving that dopamine hit, and getting that taken away when you depend on it to comfort you has to be absolutely miserable. I hope Samantha is seeing these comments and realizes how many people she has pulling for her. The word "brave" gets thrown around too often, but I sincerely mean it when I say she is so brave for taking responsibility, admitting that she's afraid, and confronting that fear. It won't be an easy road, but I'm hoping and praying Samantha continues to get better.

Nah dude this shit ain’t like a drug addiction it’s different bc there’s so many way for these people to still enjoy unhealthy food but maybe just cut down the amount or substitute ingredients and shit like that but they simply just don’t try to fix the issue AT ALL. it’s literally the most simplest thing they could possibly do is just not eat. And it’s crazy bc the damage they are doing is just so obvious. With drugs or like gambling you don’t know your really fucked until your shutting down or until your bank account is negative thousands but these people willingly watch themselves get bigger and bigger and bigger while knowing they should’ve already been dead 300 pounds ago. There really is no excuse. The only reason anyone should be capable of getting to this weight is if they genuinely have no concern for their life. The average person knows that if you even around like 300 pounds your going to die of heart failure or sum related almost guaranteed. Idk man there really just is no excuse. Only person anyone should feel bad for is the family members involved although I do hope she’s even capable of getting to a survivable size

Right? Most addicts won’t admit it. And yes, eating disorders is like addictions. The hard part tho, you can’t live without food, you can live without drugs. So you have to find a way to balance and man it’s hard. I now weigh too little to donate blood and platelets (I was their most regular donators). I haven’t taken off the shirt they gave me since they said I had to go home and gain a bit to come back. (In a nicer way than that tho). I’m on the opposite end, yet I have struggled with binge eating in the past and sometimes in the present and it’s not fun. There is no control. And the guilt is overwhelming. This is an addict, and I am one too. It’s the only addiction I haven’t beat (besides nicotine). And I’ve had maaaany you wouldn’t believe. I just wanna hug her and cry and go to counseling together. Most likely inpatient treatment, since both of our physical and mental health is in jeopardy. God I’m glad she’s honest. I should have done that a long time ago, but here I am, bones sticking out and in pain, knees bulging out of my legs, and fainting all of the time. So I’m not much better than she is. It hurts. It’s so painful but I try to act okay but man it hurts so badly. And I’m sure she’s in even more pain than me. This is the start to getting better, admitting your mistakes. And I for one, admit mine. I need like, an eating disorder anonymous group or something lol. Do they even have those?

Yeah it is very selfish no child should have to be a caregiver for someone who choose to eat themselves to death, she's going to be vunerable to diseases and depression , I had to take care of my grandmother and I'll tell you it's hard, it made me extremely depressed and stressed. It's really not fair people need to stop making they kids be caregivers and start taking care of themselves and get. Help for their addiction. I would never make my child take care of me if I choosed to eat myself to death. First of all that's just selfish second of all she's to young let her have her freedom. I know when I was a full time caregiver 24 hours I became extremely stressed and depressed had a suicide attempt I was doing everything for my grandmother, bathing her, putting her on the potty seat, giving her medicine, dressing her, getting her ready for therapy and doctor appointment, I just broke down from the stress like started crying out of control I had to be watched under suicide watch. Nobody in my family would help me caregive but her ex and he started trying to sexual harass me so yeah I was really emotionally stressed out and he started trying to touch me and it got to much I'm glad I don't have to go through that no more. I felt like I were hell and yeah it was a tormenting nightmare, I fought demons in my head everyday, I stayed awake till 4 am or else she would throw poop on the floor. Had to change depends every 3- 4 hours, put her on the potty seat, feed her do everything, pick her up put her in the wheelchair because she was fully disabled. I'm just so sorry for her daughter and other children who have to be a full time caregiver it's a tormenting nightmare and yes depression and demons do start tearing you up once the stress gets you you'll start feeling like your surrounded by demons you'll start feeling like shit. You'll be setting there wishing you had freedom and resenting those other kids who get to go out and party. I know it made me gain weight, made me gain like 30 pounds. I was a skinny girl before I became a caregiver gained up to 200 pounds felt like shit seeing how much weight I gained, it was so hard for me to loose weight cuz I was so stressed out my brain wasn't functioning properly and I wasn't sleeping like I was supposed to I was restless and having fatigue. 24 hours a day being a caregiver and when I did get help it was her ex bf and he started sexually harassing me, so I was really overwhelmed really depressed I really hated my life

So, if you look at the calories for a large pepperoni pizza, that's roughly 500 calories. They'll sometimes drink a large coke with that, and that's another 290 calories. An order of garlic knots is another 640 calories, and a brownie from pizza hut is another 2,100 calories. Total, that's 3,530 calories for one meal!

Gave me chills when she said food was her entire life. Not because I'm judging, but because I'm a recovering drug addict and have absolutely felt that horrible fear you get when faced with the decision to either change your ways, or die. Her saying that she doesn't know who she is without food.... I felt that so much. My addiction was killing me the same way, and it becomes your whole identity inside your head, because it's the only thing you focus on, or ever think about really. My heart goes out to her. And she's not making excuses. I dearly hope she can be ok.

If they had a “food addiction” as you say (which I don’t believe in at all) then why didnt she seek help yearsssss ago before it got to this stage?! If she knew she had a problem. But no, of course she didn’t do that, she’s too lazy to seek help, that would require making an effort. I feel bad for the people that are that way for genuine medical reasons, which is only a very small minority. The rest are just gluttonous slobs who need to take accountability for what they’ve done to themselves. They’re nothing but a burden to their poor family/kids and society. And all because of something they’ve chosen to do to themselves. And not ask for help earlier.
