I was awake with mine. In and out of it . I said I wanted to be awake but things went downhill fast and both our blood pressure kept bottoming out so I had emergency c-section. They got my baby out in under 10 mins! It was wild!!!! How soon could you walk normally and do normally??? It took me literally 6 weeks to be able to even drive. It was bad for me!

​@@evilsteven5201 six weeks of no driving is pretty standard after a c section! I'm sure being awake in a planned c section is way different experience. I was laboring naturally with intermittent spells of having trouble monitoring heat tat my BP got to high so I agreed to an epidural they gave me an extra dose of medicine because of failed epidural. Then my babies heart rate tanked and nothing they did would recover it and I started bleeding, then had an emergency c section. I was awake for it But I had worked in medical field for 10 years and stayed calm because I knew how bad the situation was. But all is well we both recovered it's a lot to take in during a fast paced situation

I did a foot surgery while awake. That didn’t bother me but I don’t think I can handle any above my waste. I am touch and sound sensitive so my brain amplifies it. I’ve had some dental surgery and for me I don’t feel numb so I would have to opt for being put under. But everyone is different. And kudos to him.

I think it's great that they are doing these techniques so he doesn't focus on what's happening. It's brilliant. He would of been fine with anesthesia. They say "see you on the side" which means I will see you when you wake up. It's not a morbid saying or they wouldn't say it. I am really really really happy for him. This is a LIFE changing procedure that he was worried about that was nothing. He looks so good after it was done and I’m thrilled for him to have this new found confidence. He deserves it.

Every time you have surgery you have to be totally naked. They give you a special type of wash solution to cut down on infection. Even if they were operating on your toes you would be complete undressed. This cuts back on germs interning in the operating room.

No way would I done that awake! I say put me to sleep that's what the other side is just like when you go to sleep at night and I know there's a big chance you don't wake up and I'm afraid of anesthesia too but I'm more afraid of what goes on why you supposed to be asleep not me I couldn't do it awake no way nope. But I'm happy for him that he's got a new found confidence and that he's more secure so I'm happy for them both.
