@@russell6877 Of course there are, but that’s not the majority. We’re talking about these people here in particular, and the vast majority of them have crippling depression (some by their own admission) which is driven by things like childhood abuse, neglect, fear, self-insecurity, etc. Very seldom does someone get to 600+ lbs just because they genuinely like food, with no other layer of mental illness behind it. It’s like asking whether homeless people like to do narcotics “just because” or whether they were driven to it by something deeper in the first place. The answer is obviously the latter, since people in a desperate and hopeless position will look to ‘quick-fixes’ that can help them feel good in the short term, but not fix their root problem. Well the same thing applies to food for these people. It’s just a coping mechanism for some deeper problem. It’s the temporary bandaid to a gushing wound.

Personal one! we all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God and are on our way to hell already but God So loving sent Jesus Christ to pay for our iniquity sin so we can get right with God and go to his kingdom You cannot earn ur salvation by doing works or being a good Pearson because our Good deeds are like filthy rugs to God this is what you need to do Repent of ur sins be truly sorry for everything you done change your mind turn away from sin and sinful things and Trust in Jesus Christ that he died for you. this is what sin is For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ its not what we do its what God already done for us Jesus already paid for our Sins you just accept him as your Lord and Savior confess him before people that he is ur God and Savior and you will be saved Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 John 3:16 For God So loved the world that he gave his only Begotten Son Whoever Believes in him shall not Perish but have Everlasting Life. I LOVE YOU WHO EVER YOU ARE WHO IS READING THIS GOD BLESS! James 4:4-8 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-20 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? @elijaprice8 ай бұрын
@@MJames-c9r Speaking as someone who was, and to a large extent still is, a prisoner of anxiety, it's because it's much easier to self-medicate than it is to work on yourself (although my medicine was alcohol and cigarettes, rather than food). Food and alcohol are cheaply available in the western world, and they make you feel better instantly. The more you do it, the more you hate yourself, and the more you hate yourself, the more you want to 'punish' yourself by making it worse, and so on. There's a line in the movie Trainspotting, where the heroin addict says "Piling misery on misery, propelling myself with longing towards the day when it would finally be over", and that's very true of addicts, I think. Whereas going to a therapist, talking about your feelings, your pain, and doing something about it, is very difficult, particularly for people who have anxiety.

This is actually very sad to see. People don’t realize he’s not eating like that because he’s always hungry, he’s doing it because he hates himself to the point that he has nothing he looks forward to throughout his day, so eating is his one source of happiness and to pass the time. And because he’s hit rock bottom, he doesn’t feel guilt about eating, in his mind, he’s already doomed so he might as well keep going. Good for him for having the urge to finally want to make a change though. Addiction goes both ways. Once he sticks with his diet and exercise routine and starts seeing results, it’ll motivate him to get addicted to that as well.
@Midlife_Manical_Mayhem Жыл бұрын
you are correct. the seratonin he gets from enjoying the taste of the food is what feeds the addiction. when you are depressed and food is the only thing you can control and enjoy, that's what you turn to. i never got near 600, but i defnitely got big enough at one point.
