Hi everyone!! This is Taylore, the young woman from the video. I just want to say I’m IMMENSELY grateful for all of the comments and well wishes for me and my family. This is my first time seeing this version of the video and all I can say is please give the 17 year old version of myself the benefit of the doubt. My mom and I are best friends and in a lot of ways like sisters, but I have the upmost respect for her. The tear on my eye was not only messing up my makeup (LMAO) but it was also very itchy because it was rolling down my face and just sitting there. I told my mom thank you several times, and I expressed my gratitude for her being by my side more times than I can count. Updates: It’s been 4 years, I am 21 now, and I graduated college in May at 20! For those wondering I graduated high school at 16 lol!!! THE KELOIDS HAVE NOT GROWN BACK. I’ve had to have 2 steroid injections in my left ear because it didn’t heal as well as the other ear, but they are both just as perfect as the day they were removed. I am forever grateful for this experience and the love + grace I’ve been extended since this opportunity. I LOVE YOU ALL AND BE SAFE OUT HERE!!!! Follow me on TikTok & IG if you want to see what I am up to now:) @thelorewilliams 💕💕💕

Glad to hear they have not grown back, and good job staying on top of it with getting the steroid injections. You are beautiful and could definitely model, but I find it wonderful you graduated early and perused your bachelor's graduating at 20 yrs old, that is amazing, congrats. I have had many surgeries and ended up with keloid scars everytime, although not as bad as I have seen. I am very fair skinned and half Hispanic but get keloid scars for anything deep enough leaving a wide scar. I can't have earings because the skin grows back and over the posts. I hope yours do not return and you have all the success you are after.

She’s pretty with and without keloids. Her self esteem is based on conventions of what is acceptable. My daughter is exactly the same. It doesn’t matter how many times she is told she is beautiful she doesn’t feel worthy enough to accept the compliment. Youthful images of happy, shiny people bombard our youngsters and it can be so destructive. I’m glad Dr Lee was able to help this young woman. Body dysphoria is a real thing and it kills people when not addressed. Dr Lee has given her a chance to live again.

@@sarahmill44 He definitely had a good outlook on it though, saying that most 13 year old's don't account for risk in the same way adults do. His tone and verbiage were also so much more respectful than how most parents talk to their kids. The way this girl talked to her mother on national television was the real issue for me. My parents wouldn't have even paid for me to get this surgery to begin with despite finances being a non-issue; I would've been told to tough it out and remove it once I'm financially independent.
@sarahmill442 жыл бұрын
@@ymarascough1765 no I totally agree it was more respectful than some parents would be, but she already knew the consequences of her actions. Repeating ‘I told you so’ isn’t really helpful and just rlly bothered me. Not saying her parents are shit by any means, I just really hate that phrase because it offers nothing besides ‘ I was right and you were wrong’ lol
@ymarascough17652 жыл бұрын
@@sarahmill44 I think maybe he meant it in a different way than you think. I took it as him saying "don't forget to listen to our advice carefully because we have a bit more life experience and we really care for your well-being." @tyffaneelavely80873 жыл бұрын
we seen a *snippet* of the interaction. Dr. Lee was there the entire time, and there was probably a lot more demanding that was going on. Also, it's fine to be friends with your mom, but you can't boss her around, and command her to do things for you. Then it just becomes disrespectful. It's funny, you all that liked this comment, prob do the same thing to your moms, and think it's ok. Your mom is your parent first and foremost, before anything else.

@tubester45672 жыл бұрын
Nobody deserves anything. Just because someone gets a tattoo on their face, doesnt give other people the right to do it. Getting piercings in weird areas is not a good idea. Kids need to listen more to their parents when they tell them something is a bad idea.

@givemeahappyending2 жыл бұрын
@@tubester4567 I’m guessing writing was a difficult challenge for you in school because your comment makes no sense. A teacher grading your comment would have had you re-do it because your point, if you have one, is unclear. Should kids listen to their parents? Well sure, if their parents actually have some common sense and aren’t completely ignorant. There are plenty of parents in this world that should never have had kids. And what in the world are you talking about with tattoos? They’re legal, it doesn’t matter whether one person has one or not- as long as you’re 18 you have the right to get a tattoo. I personally don’t have any (and don’t want any) but people have the freedom to do what they wish with their own bodies. Do people deserve things? Are you talking good things or bad things? Because it doesn’t matter if you do or don’t deserve something, things happen all of the time anyway. No one deserves to get run over by a drunk driver, but it happens. Does the drunk driver deserve to have consequences? Absolutely. The point is that, yes, some people do deserve things that come their way and others don’t. That’s just life. And none of this has anything to do with the girl having the keloids removed from her ears. Kids get piercings and having your cartilage pierced on your ear is relatively mild compared to some others. She got keloids, it happened, she took care of them, it’s done.

The happpines Dr Lee brings to these people she often has me in tears of joy for these people. Sometimes life can give people a bad hand for whatever reason but & people especially children can be so cruel when someone is different to them or the so called norm can’t they? Makes or breaks children doesn’t it? In 2013 I was on Bournemouth beach me teeth well the 3 you could see, well that’s all I had left. DVT which caused hemosiderin staining is usually a symptom of a condition in the blood vessels in your legs called chronic venous insufficiency. Veins are the vessels that carry blood back to the heart from the rest of your body. The veins in your legs have one-way valves that keep the blood from flowing backward, away from the heart sadly when them valves fail due to DVT (deep vein thrombosis) an ileostomy due to an ischaemic bowl (lack of blood & oxygen) After 5 fights for my life 2 comas, me poor Mum being told “he’ll be dead by morning”(4times & once 50/50 best odds I’ve had)! Ok I can’t be the only one that is beyond confused with all of the super annoying random facts that they put into this video?? Like something about the 88 olympics & then about what scratch paper is & about the naval observatory?? Also that girl is honestly soooo pretty!!

I'm so glad Taylor gave us an update (see below) I saw this originally on the show on TLC and always wondered. To me, she reminded me of a Vulcan and was thinking maybe if they did grow back it would help her in the Star Trek world! But I am honestly glad she had them removed and she's a healthy , beautiful woman. Shout out to Dr Lee!

That girl was beautiful, smart and talented! She is just naturally pretty but her make up put her over the top. The whole family dynamic seemed really positive too. I disagree with them saying she was bossy but then again I wasn't there.

I have a very similar story . Got my lobes pierced in the 6th or 7th grade, developed a keloid on one side, and had it removed right before college. So hard to live with and have people notice it and poke fun at it. Brave girl -- lots of respect
@sanobermalhotra63073 жыл бұрын
Did it come back like Dr. Lee warned?
@samanthaanna75423 жыл бұрын
@@sanobermalhotra6307 No, but neither my family or I have a history of keloid scarring so it was kindof an odd occurrence in the first place. I do have a hairline scar from where my lobe was repaired, and was given 2 hydrocortisone injections after the surgery to prevent inflammation and to soften the new scar tissue. It's very unnoticeable and I repierced my lobes a few years after the repair surgery without any complications. My scar was about the size of a small marble.

@@samanthaanna7542 Thanks for the information. Appreciate the effort. Taylor's father has a history of keloids so let's pray she has not inherited it. She is such a strikingly beautiful girl. Hope everything works out well for her.

@@samanthaanna7542 I have two one each earlobe from constantly being stupid and getting my earrings ripped out and poor after care, been thinking of going the steroid injection route but really want to get my ears re pierced after the process, how was the surgery route? Did you feel any pain during the procedure?
@samanthaanna75422 жыл бұрын
@@KojiKillerYT Surgery was really easy. I consulted with a plastic surgeon that I was referred to by my primary doctor. For the surgery itself, they did use a local anesthetic which pinched a bit, but after that it was entirely painless. It's a little awkward being able to hear the operation, but my surgeon was really nice and talked with me throughout the procedure. Healing was really easy as well. I think I had about 5 sutures which dissolved by themselves. I don't remember having to do anything special post-op in terms of cleaning. I think they put medical tape over the sutures and told me to keep it on for about a week, making sure the area stays dry. I would do it again a million times -- wish I had done it sooner. It's crazy how something so small can make such a big difference to your confidence.
