@@judyhoffman1359 practice chaining, separate from your project. Once you are comfortable, the front of the chain will look like stacked V's. Slowly, roll the chain half-way over, then you will see the bumps. By using the bumps to build the project with the next set/row of stitches, it will give you a nice finished edge for your border stitches. .

I love this stitch! I'm trying to make some cowls for winter but I just can't get my edges right. I keep forgetting where I skip and where I don't. Doesn't help that I naturally crochet on the tight side. Your tutorials are the best and are basically the only ones that don't overcomplicate! Going to pull out my rows and try try again 😂

A pencil holding Tunisiast! 🤩 This is helpful in several ways and one is how you hold the hook because I, too, am a pencil holder. I am practicing knife hold so I can give my poor thumbs a rest, but pencil is much more natural. Moving on to the thumbs - I was mesmerized by the glitter the whole way through, lol. What I gleaned from this is odd rows, go into the first space, even rows, skip the first space and use the 2nd. So totally going to do this stitch on my next set of dish cloths! Thank you for taking the time to teach us.

Toni girl, I just watched a podcast with your mom. Giiiirl I can tell where you get it from. You are definitely your mama's daughter and I'm positive you make your family proud. Fantastic tutorial. I love how you would turn the end so that we could see what the last stitch should look like. Like @Della Dearest says below, the right hand side looks uneven. Is it just due to carrying the yarn or can we tighten it somehow? I think I'm going to do this with a bunch of leftover colors from other projects to make little sleeping bags for my kids dolls.

It's either the yarn I'm using or I'm mixing up the spaces but mine is turning 3D it kinda looks like: F. I have fallen in love with Tunisian crochet but I can't find the right hooks. They're either expensive or boye style which is really hard to work with or they're massive the smallest I've found is 5.5 mm Chiagoo dual ended flex but the handle part is too short for me so its uncomfortable. Do you know any cheap wood hooks with a pointed head instead of round (boye)?

Thank you so much for this tutorial...I did follow another one but somehow the edges didn't turn out straight (not trying to make the other content creatorl look bad)..now they're straight and I can finally make my daughter's pillowcase...by the way I'm using a yarn that looks like mohair but is thicker and very soft and this stitch makes it look so beautiful 😍😍

About 40 years ago I bought a book on learning how to do Tunisian crochet. It taught simple stitch, a bobble stitch a couple of tips and tricks and that was it, so for the last 40 years I thought that was all there was to Tunisian crochet....that is until I found you. You have widen my experience with Tunisian crochet and given me a passion for it that I never had before. Now I'm really into it. Thanks to you Toni.

@aolster3198
@aolster3198 2 жыл бұрын
Three ways to make a blanket are 1. Use a Tunisian hook with a cable attached. (You may need to order online, or if you have a regular hook without a bumpy/flattened section, you can buy some tubing -or strong, smooth cording- the same diameter as the hook and attach to the end of your hook. Using a hook without a bumpy section means all your loops will stay the same size.) 2. Use whatever Tunisian hook you have and create narrow panels. Sew these along the long edge to create a blanket of the desired width. 3. Use whatever Tunisian hook you have and create your first narrow panel. Begin the next narrow panel and link each forward pass to the corresponding row of the first panel; this is similar to how entrelac Tunisian is made. Specifically, you insert your hook into the previous panel's corresponding row, pull a loop through, and take off that loop and the first loop of the new panel together, continue taking off two loops at a time as with most return passes.
