Even I listen to this again and again!!!

1:44 TMK asks Rithvik what the name of the raga is. If you take a second to think about it means that this raga is something he sings so unoften that he doesn't recollect even the name. And yet he renders it with unparalleled perfection. I cannot fathom the level of mastery required for this.

Do they not rehearse before a kutchery atleast the Guru and Shishya(vocal part)? or all these performances extempore? with TMK anything can happen given the genius that he is!
@arjun_ragafanatic4 жыл бұрын
@@vaidyalingasiva I remember reading that It is indeed extempore. TMK decides what to sing in the moment based on the feel. This is why he sometimes incurs the ire of purists as he does not stick to the kucheri format. However in my opinion, his choices represent his most honest feelings and that shows in the music.

True. Nenarunchara is a lil popular. He wud be aware of arohanam avarohanam. Just name is confusing there are a lot of ragas ending with vahini.But I’m aware that he doesn’t rehearse even for high paid concerts.

The Violinist is a great asset. The Vocalist and the Violinist seem to be conversing with each other!

One of if not the best renditions of this Raga and Kruthi. Absolutely amazing. This is my yardstick of perfection to render a short ragam and tanam and also for accompanying the main artist. Akkarai Subbalakshmi is truly the best of carnatic violinists ever. TMK Sir, as always, is the star of the show. His unparalleled Manodharma shows his level of expertise and experience singing each swara in each raga that he sings. Beyond incredible. Shame that it's the same person that happens to occasionally spit useless drivel in the form of political and other sorts of comments.

Why isn't this ragas more popular? it is beautiful! Or is it TMK who makes it special?
@MadhuRaman776 жыл бұрын
Shashank Anand have the same question, it’s so beautiful. Never heard this raga before
@AnoopKashyap4 жыл бұрын
Raga popularity is usually directly proportional to the number of compositions in it (there are exceptions of course). Simhavahini has only a couple of compositions.

@meeragopalakrishnan84176 жыл бұрын
It is sarasangi janyam
@ShreyasGowri6 жыл бұрын
It is only one note away from sarasangi. Simhavahini doesn’t have the rishabham in the ascent.
@sudhirhebbar73634 ай бұрын
This raga doesn't have scope to sing in this pace and for eloberation. In vilambaa it start resembling other ragas like nalinakanti and looses it's identity. If there was a scope trinities would have composed compositions.

Too much of " ptch" appreciating sounds in videos is disturbing.
@maheshyadavalli15605 жыл бұрын
It is less often in this video compared to his other videos. But that is their way of expressing how great the sangathi/gamakam etc was. Moreover, this is a live recodring, not a planned recording session where technicians take care of those unwanted noises.
