In my freshman year in 09' somebody called in a bomb threat in one of the bathrooms and the whole school was suddenly evacuated on foot to half a mile away in a parking lot in the baking sun. It turned out to be a prank. After that disaster they implemented bathroom monitors for every bathroom on all four floors. You had to give them your hall pass so they could verify it and sign you in to a sheet with your name and the time you came in and left. Some monitors left you some dignity and just collected the pass and waved you through with just your name. Some of them would come in to get you if you were in there for too long or if they heard you talking. Everyone hated it. And we still had several more bomb threats anyway. Teens have been shitty forever, it seems

@@Depleted-Uranium my school was super underfunded and we had cameras, metal detectors, etc. the metal detectors were installed my senior year, but every school ive been to has cameras in most hallways at least. i guess it just depends on your region whether thats common or not, but id argue that its actually more common to have cameras in underfunded schools because the population is usually kids from low income families, like in my case

I have so many questions. 1. How do you even get this stuff off of the wall? The urinals have to way at least 50 pounds, and they're not only cemented there, but there's like metal piping and stuff that has to be connected. The smartboards too. 2. When is this taking place? No way kids are stealing this stuff in between classes. You can't just like walk around with a god damn 10 foot metal railing to third period without getting stopped by at least one person. 3. Where are the cameras? Why do these schools not have cameras? If this is happening after school has ended they should at the very least be able to get some footage of whoever is taking it. 4. How are these literal children transporting this stuff? Again, you can't just get on the bus with a urinal or a whiteboard. You probably can't even fit that stuff into a regular car so... 5. When they get home what do they do with it? Like imagine you just walk into your child's room and they're playing 2k on a 10x10 whiteboard... or there's just a brand new urinal in your downstairs bathroom. I think this trend is so funny, but in a terrible way. Part of me is like natural selection, but I feel bad for the schools that are underfunded and really can't afford losing equipment like this. Other students are going to end up paying for this whether it be through losing out on field trips or quality of education. Teachers already have to pay for extra shit out of pocket anyways.
