Felt heavenly listening to Thaye Yashodha and niraval of Kaalinil. Such soulful rendering could be heard from such devoted great musicians like Vidwan Madurai Mani Iyer. The amazing part is the subtle support of the accompanying artistes. How they play very subtly awaiting the Vidwan to open up his manodharma. It takes me back to 1960s when Madurai Mani Iyer's concert will be held in Shri Shanmukhananda Sabha. The venue will be full. But during such times there will be complete silence and the moment the Vidwan finishes the Niraval there will be thunderous applause. Those were the days. I feel blessed to have heard all the great musicians of those days at Shree Shanmukhananda Sabha when we only knew the time cutcheri starts and not when it will end. Wow!

Thre way he leads the connaisor of music to sublime heights is adorable n in inimitable style.He is the only gifted singer who can dwell on simply two words for hours together raising the level of classical Swara prasthara n still keeping the listeners on their toes. My appreciations to Ms. Alamelu Sarma for her remarks on the ‘Thodi Raga kruthi are appreciable. Sri Madurai Mani Iyer’s yi, vu etc. also adds beauty to the song.
